  1. You will have a great time. Not really a difficult time, but some are more flexible than others. Surely you already know the Grand is old!
  2. Well, was told only certain categories were made offers, mostly higher categories. Majestic is only one day behind us, so not much time to visit other areas. I agree it would have been a good way to extend the vacation and avoid uncomfortable accommodations if in a targeted cabin and schedule s permitting.
  3. Some were also offered the option to transit to the Majestic, which is follwing us. Supposedly at a much lower occupancy, and much newer for those that prefer that.
  4. No! We are on this sailing. They are doing every possible to accommodate passengers in zone 7, as well as the rest of the ship that is impacted by the reduced space. We have been on much newer ships that have had far worse problems. If you book the Grand, you book it for a reason. In fact, we booked another trans Pacific on the Grand for 2024, and are awaiting later this month to book some2025 sailings. If you don't the Grand, simply don't book it!
  5. Prices for these window suites often exceed prices for an s6 category, mostly because of the short supply and high demand factors. We would pay the premium on "cooler" cruises, but would opt for a cheaper S6 when available on the warmer itinerary choices.
  6. We have been in s107 and 108 on Discovery. You will be thrilled with either.
  7. You will love it. It's perfect for Alaska, and huge to boot!
  8. Yes, full suite. We loved it. Spent 4 weeks in one and loved the fabulous windows. I will add that those same windows act like magnifying glasses when the sun is shining, so we did have to close curtains when out of room as and couldn't keep up.
  9. We have had disappearing reservations on a couple of bookings, but as you postulated, they showed up again once onboard. We figured we would just fix it onboard as we have had to do with other app shortcomings, but it took care of itself. We live in a remote area, with little cell service and very unreliable WiFi service, and have also noticed that many app functions work when we drive to the nearest city.

  11. I requested early ticketing for my ez air flights to AKL in April several weeks ago. The system accepted the request and said expect 3-5 days to process. Still no tickets, so called ez air department and was told this is normal, just be patient. Just hope they pay for the tickets ontime!
  12. Same here. Pricing now has convinced us to switch to land based packages. We do have some version of a package from when we booked quite some time ago. After that, we are switching to land based packages.
  13. It also tells you if you win (or not) Every time you enter the room. It either says try again next time or congratulations on the door entry screen.
  14. Put yourself on the waitlist We are most likely cancelling our cabin since we prefer to be in port, vs many who want to be at sea. Patience!

  18. We're with you. I can only control my own behavior, not others around us who choose to be inconsiderate. We have adopted wearing n95 masks when in congested areas or traveling, and have escaped contracting anything since that decision.
  19. Nope. First time turned out to be false positive on The Grand . was released after a pcr was negative. Ruby was thanks to people not following masking and distancing requirements. But symptoms were mild and they took good care of us. Been on 4 cruises since and had no issues. Can only follow reasonable recommendations and hope that others around you do too!
