  1. I am so sorry about that! We are trying to reduce what we pack. However, I have to say that reducing shoes can be a very tough process!
  2. Aloha deck appears to be currently used for quarantine.
  3. True, the hair dryers are on the weak side, but that does not bother me. Hairdryers take up luggage space.
  4. As mentioned above, go directly to the tour company and book. We have no idea when you are going. There are a few companies who do whale watching in Icy Strait.
  5. On the Regal in the Fall of 2018, we had a port cancelled. We decided to eat at Alfredo's and it was not really crowded. We waited 2 hours for our lunch. They were really messed up that day. That was our first and only experience with Alfredo's... but, yes, we will try again. They gave us all tiny glasses of Limoncello to make up for the horrible service. But, I am the only one who drinks, so it really would drink it, so the others really did not have any compensations.
  6. We were on the Emerald in May and the library was ok. The one on the Coral.was pretty good, but that was in January of 2018.
  7. That would be fine. We went to Haines on our first Alaska cruise and it is a quaint town.
  8. We can't be diverted. Icy Strait is already a part of our itinerary, as well as Prince Rupert and Sitka.
  9. What she said! I need to now get some new water bottles for our trip.
  10. I assume that you do not have any beverage package? Correct?
  11. We reserved the transfer through our TA who called Princess. We took a cab from our London hotel to the Victoria Coach Station (NOT Victoria Station). This was on a Monday morning and all went well and very affordable from the East side. As has been said, a Princess rep met us at the main entrance and instructed us where to go, etc. It was $59.00 per person and took about one and a half to 2 hours. This was a much more affordable transfer versus Blackberry Cabs or a few others. It is also closer than Heathrow from a London hotel.
  12. We have cruised Alaska twice in September and loved both times. The weather was a bit of everything each time, the usual Alaska variety... Misty rain, cloudy, Sun (even 78 degrees in Ketchikan!)
  13. Our itinerary already includes Sitka and Icy Strait. Sooooooo, what to substitute for Skagway?
  14. Absolutely! It is fun to know there is someone out there who feels the same.
  15. We met a lovely local lady on the train and she coached us on where to get off of the train. We were headed to Trinity College. She was on her way to work as a paralegal and was raising a cute little girl.
  16. @Tiki_Koro We were in B749 and unfortunately did experience cigarette smoke virtually each time we went out on our balcony. I LOVE the pic of your Mom with Victor Hugo! DH took one of me as well; he is one of my very favorite authors and yes, I did read ALL 1500 pages of Les Miserables in high school (required reading). Thanks for your lovely review!
  17. Serioisly, you will.need to find another time to go from mid May to mid September. Princess has good.programs for kids and there is usually a Naturalist onboard for informative talks and during glacier time.
  18. Our very first Alaska cruise (and our first cruise) included Hubbard Glacier and it was spectacular!!! We went in late August and were able to get up close. It was exciting and breathtaking to hear and see the glacier calving!a On a different cruise, we went into Glacier Bay. Yes, it was beaitiful, however, we seem to have a soft spot for Hubbard Glacier and the impact it had on us.
  19. I love how you described those "imitation balconies"!
  20. Thank you so much for doing that. We all look forward to any feedback and answers your may receive. We were in a corner aft on the Baja deck on the Emerald and there was lots of smoke. It was disgusting and Princess is totally blowing it and out of touch. They should just send staff to smoke in the casino on their breaks.
  21. Corner Baja aft balcony on the Emerald had smoke from above and the Promenade deck.
  22. Thank you for your feedback. So, no smoke from on top wafts down to any aft staterooms?
