  1. i wouldn't trust any ones opinion of pizza unless they were from Chicago (South Side)
  2. Dramamine makes a non-drowsy capsule that is mainly ginger. Have used it in the past along with ginger snap cookies Worked for me but everybodys body is different. Good luck.
  3. Read an article once that if it is wild caught it is probably farm raised. The light pink wild caught salmon at Costco says "coloring added ". What color was it before the coloring was added? The Alaskan salmon is a dark red and firm texture. Delicious !!!
  4. We will be going on Equinox in a few weeks. We haven't cruised since 2019. We will be deciding if we want to continue cruising. From the looks of the menus it doesn't look good. Salmon pops up quite a bit. I have about 50 lbs. of salmon in my freezer from my 6 week fishing trip in Alaska. Don't need any more. My favorite meal on a cruise is Osso Bucco and I didn't see that. As I am sure they will not cart me off the ship from lack of food I can certainly see the down grade of the food menus. Will be a very interesting cruise.
  5. I also enjoyed the video. Brings back memories from the past. Also am looking forward to our cruise on her at the end of Oct.
  6. Number one rule of rare Bourbon drinkers. Never reveal your source.
  7. Have used the Dramamine ginger version (non-drowsey) in the past on ocean fishing charters in Alaska. We also bring a box of Gingersnaps with us. Does the trick.
  8. $25 for a pour of Eagle rare ??? I get a 750 for $10 more !
  9. And had their first over night frost!
  10. Talked to my nephew yesterday near Anchorage and he said they are getting a ton of rain and a lot of flooding. I was up there for 6 weeks and left the end of August. The weather was great and right after I left the rain started.
  11. I'm sure you will enjoy Alaska. Bring some extra money as the cost of living is a little higher up there. Just got back from 6 weeks up there and the weather was great.
  12. Really don't mind if they serve the mashed potatoes with an ice cream scoop or a coal shovel as long as they taste good !!!
  13. We will be on the "Halloween Cruise "at the end of October. Haven't cruised since 2019. We are interested in if and how cruising has chaged , if any. Equinox is one of our favorite ships. Hoping we have a great cruise so we can get back into it.
  14. WOW That was one of the highlights of my land tour there in 2019. Terrible.
  15. I think the reason I was not impressed with Denali is because I spent most of my time on the Kenai Peninsula before going to Denali. The KP area is much more impressive. Sitting on a school bus in the heat of the summer bouncing down a dusty road looking for wildlife ( never saw any ) is not appealing to me. I was planning to go to the Artic Circle this year but never got there ( maybe next year ) . On a clear day you can see Mt. McKinley(Denali) from Eagle River where I stay at. I have also taken a plane ride around McKinley in the winter. Awesome. Any where you go in Alaska is great. Some just better than others.
  16. Have been to both and hands down, Kenai Peninsula. The drive down from Anchorage along the Turnagain Arm itself is amazing. There are plenty of mountain views, rivers, lakes, and places of interest to visit. Homer Spit is one of a kind and Seward is another interesting area as well as Whittier and Girdwood. Been up to Fairbanks and Denali once and was not impressed . Since then have been spending all of my time down South. Just my opinion.
  17. We too are Diamond/Elite and are taking our first cruise since 2019. We will be observing the quality of service and food and decide if we want to continue to cruise as compared to land tours. We are doing a Carribean cruise in Oct. on the Equinox. Hoping it's not too different.
  18. Just got back from 6 weeks near Anchorage..Spent most of the time there and south on the Kenai Penninsula. Had about 5 days total of light rain and rest of days the weather was great. Been up there over 30 times and each year is different. Be prepared for anything.
  19. Just got back from 6 weeks up there . Could count the number of rainy days on one hand. Weather was great. Stayed mainly in Anchorage and Kenai peninsula area. Great trip as usual !,
  20. Yes you can walk to Mooses Tooth with no problem. There is a restuarant at the Millenium Hotel(The Lakefront ) on Lake Hood where the seaplanes take off from. It is a distance from Embassy Suites so might want to do Uber or taxi. Concierge at hotel should point you in the right direction. Am up here now and went to Mooses Tooth 2 days ago. Great pizza !

    Airport?

There is also the option of renting a car and driving but will be costly. Am up here now and 2 relatives came up and rented a compact car at Anchorage airport for a week to the tune of $1300 ! Also there is a fair amount of construction going on and could cause you delays. Any way you do it the trip along the Turnagain Arm is great.
  22. There is no such thing as " the wrong one!"
  23. I think the hot tubs are large pots of people soup.
