Not even Waitresses or Waiters in restaurants ?

I have had bags that did not get to my cabin till midnight.Luck of the draw.

Therefore ,I assume that you never tip a Waitress or Waiter in a restaurant who could be a union member. I know for a fact that on occasion there have been members of construction workers unions working at the Manhattan cruise port to supplement their income on Sundays.They were salaried for the day but did not receive additional benefits.

Not every person with a union card is a longshoreman .

You are incorrect about Bayonne .I am from NY.I know for a fact that this not apply to NYC either.

My father came to the US in 1913 .On that ship every passenger except those in steerage were dressed up as we would call it now on the entire voyage.Things have changed greatly in the past 100:plus years.

Not all baggage handlers are longshoremen .

The last time we cruised was in 2019 and we gave $5 a bag.

The only time I ever wore a tuxedo was at family weddings.I had to wear a suit while working for 40 years.A guy I knew in the same profession dressed casual every day of his working life.

I was referring to dress attire on cruise ships. In 1971 I was working for the US government specifically with disabled Vietnam War veterans in a program to be retrained for civilian employment.The only males hired had long hair ,beards and wearing jeans was required.

It has been very difficult for me dealing with personal issues plus what is going on in Israel.I have not slept that much .I am trying to catch up.Thank you for thinking about me.

Thank you Bonnie for thinking of me and Marietta for reaching out to me.Two friends that I knew since HS passed away .One had Cancer but the other was in good health .Her death was a shock to all who knew her.My god daughters mother who has been a friend for 50 years has a rare form of Leukemia and began treatment today. My friends and relatives (30 people) are all okay.My granddaughter in college became friends with three young women ,studying at the college who are Israeli citizens.She called me today to tell me she does not know how to comfort her friends.My daughter flew out to the college to be with her daughter. I hope and pray that Dani and family are okay.I will try and catch up tonight
