  1. Good job Crystal you het to see the show after dinner . Then what do you usually do ? We head to the Casino to play Craps or slots
  2. Thanks much for this info . Seems to be a decent Alaska price on this ship for 2024 .May & it stops in Haines which we never been to in 5 past Alaska cruises
  3. What is the Diamond Discount for a balcony cabin ? With out a Diamond Club how does this ship handle the Diamond 5 to 7 pm Happy Hour ? TIA
  4. Very flexible , any time dinner , casino craps & or slots , music walk to listen ,a show if they have one , listen to a comedian . There is dancing at BB Kings on occasion
  5. appears to be a smaller version of what we had in our handicap balcony on Koningsdam but ,it really does work well for movies ,news & tracking the in board bill
  6. Although we have been to Alaska 5 prior times ,we are thinking of another cruise to Alaska .We would want to go all the way to Seward of Whittier because we then could rent a car & do our own tour . What ship is HAL's fleet would be the best choice for that cruise .We need a fully accesable handicap balcony cabin TIA
  7. What is your cruise lines future staffing requirements ? Service has suffered with the current numbers of staff making for a less than satisfactory cruise experience
  8. That upgrade is definitely worth the money plus the priority embarkation ,tenders ie
  9. What are Carnival Corp future plans to diversify entertainment types for the World Stage on Holland America Ships?
  10. We would have liked to sail on the Prisendam from all we have heard about her uniqueness
  11. The new TVs with the movies on demand far better than the old method
  12. However ,lacking varied entertainment on the World Stage . The music walk could be improved because the Rolling Rock area gets pretty loud at times .Both Billboard & BB Kings are rather close & The Rolling Rock bands can be heard in these other venues HAL needs some main Quality Acts for the World Stage whether it be a really good Comedians ,Singers or other Speciality entertainment like a concert pianist or violinist ie .Those items would elevate HAL's bookings across the fleet
  13. What do you like or dislike in the older /smaller vs the newer / larger HAL ships ? We sailed on the smaller as well as the larger ship .We find that we prefer the newer Pinnacle class because there are more Balcony & Handicap Balcony cabins available & that there is a separate dining room with Club Orange . what we see good about the smaller ships is the number of passengers both on the ship & when embarking & disembarking it is easier & getting around on the ship
  14. imo it is far better to visit the islands than to cruise . In lieu of a hotel think Airbnb or VRBO stay for a week & rent a car to get around .Use the Gypsy app for your guide . Do at least 2 islands for one week each .Start with Oahu & then Maui We have stayed on the island many times & you really get to know them . hotels are very pricy pm Hawaii islands . Another good way is if you know some one who would rent to you their Time Share unit with a full kitchen .We already own a time share Now we cruise to Hawaii because we are mid 80s
  15. From a PointsGuy.com article : https://thepointsguy.com/news/hawaii-new-tourist-tax/?utm_source=TPG Daily Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=6195417&utm_usr=e9b444a0581d64aac560

  17. The answer to this should be that HAL is working on the web site & that all the correct information will be restored shortly We are missing every thing as well including the 14 night Mexico /Solar Eclipse cruise March 30 ,2024 & our 3 star Mariner point totals
  18. That one sounds decent . imo Holland America management is not in the business of giving money / profits away .This type of promotion guarantees HAL that there is on board spending which they need .In our case we spend our OBCs first to cover the tips ,then we use any balances for the special restaurant dinners . Thus ,I sincerely doubt that even with the tips included that we would come out ahead Obviously ,the HIA promo works for many others & that is great for them
  19. As we thought the portion of the HIA promotion for tours would not suit us . Additionally ,we are not drinkers .a occasional glass of wine is sufficient .A person needs to consume a lot of liquor to make the high cost worth it .If HAL opens this promo with the ppd gratuities ,we then could be interested after doing the math ,if we save money FWIW the TA we work with always knows to book refundable deposits for us . We are older than most cruisers on these threads & need that protection in case of illness .We but only yearly insurance policy from Allianz ;which is a lot cheaper than a per cruise basis .It also insures our land trips . any trip under 90 days we have this insurance
  20. I am going to check the HAL web site about the promotion HIA ,I think that the excursion allowance is low per trip . Besides if we do excursions ,we plan our own not ship tours because we like small group tours .I would just find tour money involved in the HIA for us wasted
  21. If HAL offered the HIA with ppd gratuities which they do some times, then we would buy it
  22. Hello We pay $49 per month to spectrum for very high speed 300 mbps ,that $67 is outrageous same with that $34 . I never use any ships internet because of price & slow speeds .If I get it free , a Elite + perk , I will use it
  23. Yes new people booking need to know this . Many tears ago this was never a issue with the cruise lines .Like every thing else things change .
  24. The only cruises we ever have seen from Vancouver are Alaska ,Hawaii & Repositioning back south when the Alaska season ends . What cruise are you looking to book . to where ?
