Koningsdam is our favorite HAL ship because we love the music walk ,the Dutch Cafe is very special ,the food quality & great service . We have a 18 night Hawaii cruise booked on her for Jan 30 ,2024

Although TAs are busy booking during wave season .It still remains how many of those bookings reach final payment Liking to the new car sales carrying a average $1000 per month payments . Now those deals are starting to fall apart .That can happen to cruise bookings if prices go to high & a percent will cancel

We love Club Orange .Iy is definitely worth the up charge imo

Very similar to wins in a US land based casino . Win over $1200 & you get q tax form . The big difference is in Las Vegas you can have a players bank & you can place the wins into the players bank & draw out daily with receipts

Are you serious .They don''t listen to us .Their marketing plan is done before their business plan is finalized . Candidly , it is no skin off my nose . They will succeed or fail based on those plans . Looking forward other than a repeat of another covid shut down they are likely to be successful in time . Recessions will come & go Add to that that the war in Ukraine will not last forever & that will help cruising in general with more bookings

Do I care what X or their parent does yes when I am booked only for that cruise . Candidly ,a multimillion dollar exec like Lisa takes her marching orders from RCL brass & implements those orders effectively or they would replace her . On our next 2 X cruises this year we are getting all the perks free on a casino deal .for those cruises we are ahead of the game .We alos sail many Holland America cruises in their preferred customer group .We are very close to 100 cruises total

The cruise industry needs to be aware than adding costs ,cutting corners may decrease their bookings going forward especially while the USA is heading into recession .Yes there are other forms of vacations available

If a ships cabins are being sold out the likely hood of casino deals is not going to happen . Casino deals happen when there are many open cabins & not expected to sell or pay for the cabin & get all the perks for free id the best deal .We got that on 2 Celebrity cruises in March 2023 The cost of the cruises for a balcony were very reasonable as well & we are Elite plus with Celebrity for additional free perks

The entire stock market imo will go down . I really don't think that cruising will be at the top of peoples lists in a recession .I am definitely bearish on CCL stock

What we miss are live Shows . We have sailed on many cruise lines ^ the main shows always capped the evenings for us . We love every thing else about HAL just add back shows & stop so many BBC films

seems to us that HAL is some times behind the rimes when they are saying you need to be tested for over 14 night cruises & a booster if you were vaccinated past 6 months .There is NO US Government nor CDC mandates to that effect .HAL even wants this for their Hawaii cruises , I call it uninformed

Candidly it is a shame that this is happening .We loved the old HAL .now they want to encourage the younger generations .However ,the younger generations can ill afford the longer HAK cruises being produced .so why change a good thing ?

what are your feelings about Celebrity product of today vs pre covid times ?

Celebrity once hosted all Meet & Greets . Why are they not doing this any longer ?

Seems to us reading these board that the cuts in the dining room 7 else where is nothing new .Holland America & Princess are doing the exact same things .what starts in one cruise line is usually followed by the other cruise lines

Give me a Maine Lobster or gibe me none .There is a huge difference in taste & quality of a fresh caught Maine Lobster boiled in a beer batter , Yum

Ruth that is OK .We just want to watch the ocean . If chairs are available ,we will use them for the time we are out on the lower promenade . Thanks for your heads up

Not Hawaii nor Mexico cruises from San Diego . The orient is possible because of Chinas breakout on covid .?

Fabulous article .Thanks so much for posting it . We definitely like the longer cruises that HAL offers . We would love to see a yearly round trip from San Diego to Alaska ;which also could be a 14 to 21 day itinerary .San Diego has so much to offer pre & post cruises as well as the best weather

Yes we are aware as we booked a handicap outside cabin on the lower promenade ,deck 3 , what we can do is easily get out on the promenade like a balcony & we understand there are deck chairs for our use .Going into Mexico waters the weather will be warm ,so outside sitting in deck chairs is the next best thing to a balcony . although the balcony is nice to have breakfast on it . Those Vista suite balcony cabins are quite pricy .On HAL's other ships we can easily book into a handicap balcony .The older,&smaller HAL ships were designed & built differently
