  1. What’s your source that no cruise ships can stop in Peru, Les? If true, I expect ChrisM’s report to be fascinating. From what I’ve heard from a friend on board is that the Moon is sailing for Lima where disembarkation / embarkation will take place. All land tours have been cancelled there though.
  2. SS makes the details of the program very clear on their website. They state, “you share with your friend your Venetian Society Number and your name. Your friend provides us or their travel advisor with your information when they make their booking. Your friend must claim their referral and provide your information within 21 days of making the reservation, in order for this offer to be valid.”
  3. If you’ve never been to Uluru, be sure to bring head netting with you. The flies are unbearable without them, starting at dawn until sunset.
  4. Amen. Totally agree. And please, stop the sharing of TMI.
  5. Hopefully not. I’ve found that the more sailing days one has the less they disconnect their devices from the internet. 😁
  6. Crazy to think I made Halibut with Sofrito for lunch today before all of the comments about the fish above.
  7. It will be for sure, especially since you’re going down and back from the San Fran. As such, I would assume no food specialities from South America or Europe.
  8. Probably for the best. Just are personal opinion, of course.
  9. Reading all of these maple syrup posts makes me think they’d make a perfect Monty Python drug dealing skit. Psst… hey you…. Yeah you, the one about to stuff your face with pancakes and waffles. You want the good stuff? That’s right, the stuff that flows like manna from Heaven through the maple trees of Canada. I’ve got the goods and I’ll cut you a deal. Local currency only though. No local currency? Go see Mysty in the corner over there. She’ll exchange your currency at a decent rate. She’s got every currency known to man. Then you come back and see me. And, don’t bring any coins. Paper money only, capiche?
  10. My goodness, Lois, I hope you stayed awake and watched the whole game since your team never lead at anytime the entire game until the very last play. Unbelievable.
  11. Now that you have been sailing for several days and have been disappointed virtually every day with F&B, have you scheduled a meeting with the Executive Chef and Hotel Director? Knowing you are a new to Silversea and spending beaucoup bucks on a top suite, I would think senior ship management would want to hear directly from a customer they are making massive gross profit on in order to keep generating that margin for as long as possible. And, we fellow forum members would love to read the outcome of said meeting.
  12. Looks like the professional version of Georgia vs. TCU.
  13. C’mon out Que… plenty of snow for everybody in our hills.
  14. Thx Mysty. Makes sense. Sounds like we’re lucky our Bank of Montreal account doesn’t impose any ATM fees or have minimum amounts. Maximums can be a pain for us sometimes, so understand your hassle.
  15. Probably stupid questions, but here goes anyway for my education. 1) Why do you purchase in advance in Canada instead of just using an ATM in country for free? 2) Why do you only use four currencies instead of each country’s own currency?
  16. Glad to hear your favorites are back. And, get over that cold soon. Don’t let it turn into something worse.
  17. With all due respect, are you sure you had a sirloin steak? If so, how was it prepared? I’m trying to wrap my head around how that particular cut of beef fits in the exclusive destination focused restaurant where we are supposed to taste our way through regional specialities.
  18. You would think, but alas, you would be wrong. When you return home, you’ll have to search the forum. One of the all-time funniest threads ever. And, a true story to boot! Hopefully, etual will show up here to regale you.
  19. Woah! That’s not good considering it’s mid-summer where you are.
