That's what I thought. Reservations were made before the 11th but after the 11th the rate went down and the ta was able to make the change. The new confirmation, still showing original booking date has the new gratuity rate, which surprised me. We're still way ahead but didn’t expect the gratuity to be the new rate.
In the past as long as I prepaid before sailing I got the old rate. As I said the the new cruise fare is considerably lower so I'm still way ahead of the game.
We have 2 cruises booked before the new gratuities were to go into effect. The cruises are for next summer and the original confirmations show the old gratuity rate. The ta was just able to get a lower rate for each cruise, $1000 for one and $500 for the other. Obviously significant drops so maybe I shouldn't complain but the new confirmations show the new gratuity about. Surprised because I thought old rate would continue, but I guess I was wrong. Not happy but still ahead. What's everyone else's experience? Thanks.
I don't see any Royal cruises scheduled into King's Wharf in 2025 except for the Brilliance for one dsy in April 2025. NCL has lots of stops scheduled. Any ideas?
Traditional dining. If you can't do it in advance do it as soon as you board. Find out where the head waiter is dealing with changes and go there. I'm allergic to fish and worry about food, like French fries, being fried in oil that fish. Head waiter always worked with me the night before. He and waiter always made sure I was happy.
Only book at least a window. Want to know what the weather is. We're on that cruise and have a balcony. The only time we had an inside had to send dh out to check the weather before I dressed. That was a long time ago.
I think I know the answer but wanted to check. We're on the Navigator next summer with our granddaughter. Dh and I are both D+. Granddaughter isn't. Any chance we get free wifi because we're in Grand suite. I don't think so but thought I'd ask. Thanks.
On Radiance Panama Canal recently we had to skip an overnight in Cabo because of a hurricane and did get money back. $85/pp is what dh and I both recall. Sometimes fees returned and other times not. The amount of this was surprising. Obviously cancelled shore excursion fee was also returned.
