  1. I believe our instructions for our TA in October from Southampton says proctored. We have a stop in Halifax so Canada rules maybe controlling. Not sure.
  2. We were on Liberty the week of 8/28. Didn't do specialty restaurants. Ate in mdr, traditional dining and WJ. Dining staff was great. Very accommodating to food issues. Yes, ship needs work but didn't affect our trip. Saw the 3 main shows and thought they were excellent. Not sure how they could shorten Saturday Night Fever any more than they did. Original movie was 119 minutes and cut to 90 min. As an aside one of the ice skaters is from Japan and we met her parents on our tour in Jamaica. They spoke a little English and so we spoke a little. It was dad's first cruise and he still couldn't get over his 14 hour flight!
  3. Liberty 8/28, James MacDonald was still captain. He did top tier event.
  4. Earliest check-in for Anthem October TA was 11:30 and I checked in shortly after check-in opened.
  5. We booked a gty jr ste on the Jewel for last January, a cruise they ended up canceling. They assigned us a panoramic suite, 2 bdrms, 2 baths, slept 8 but no balcony! It was considered a better cabin with extra benefits. But I wanted a balcony. I blew a gasket and got a regular js. So it is possible to make a change.
  6. Understand your problem but when you bid or book a gty you usually get what you get. We've had granddaughter, and her parents, with us in balcony cabins. 1. We used the kid lock and 2.under no circumstances, even for a moment, could she be allowed on the balcony by herself. If you are a c&a member then call them and see if they can help.
  7. On Liberty last week in Windjammer they had signs showing which items were gluten free.
  8. Dh had his and mine when the coffee machine in the Diamond lounge (on Liberty) didn't want to work. They gave it to him gratis. Not sure what the restrictions were.
  9. There is a vegan menu. If your cruise is relatively you go the app and in the dining section click on menu. After the regular menu and children's menu you will find the vegan menu for each day. My dh uses it and I've ordered soup from there. In addition your waiter will help with anything. Just ask 1st day for the vegan menu and you will get it each day. They also accommodate allergies and other food issues.
  10. Call and they will move them sooner than later. Also do you have your email confirmation? Bring it in case there is any question.
  11. When is your cruise? Sometimes they don't appear until close to sailing. If you need them earlier call the credit card people. They can usually push it through sooner.
  12. Jewel doesn't have shower curtain, if I remember correctly.
  13. We sailed the Jewel TA in April 14 nts to Amsterdam after a 6 nt Caribbean cruise. Good trips. It was our 2nd and 3rd trip this year on the Jewel. Loved it.
  14. What do your docs say? You're less than 30 days out and they should be available. They will show an address for the port and directions.
  15. Black Falcon pier is terrible. Too small to get all the luggage out. We also did immigration on board. Crazy, long lines. Get an early luggage tag number. Use a porter because they took you to the front of the taxi line, which otherwise was very long. We were going through security, tsa pre-check, pretty quickly. Good luck.
  16. One more thing. Just below is a 4 bdrm suite sleeping 14 i think. Hasxits own hot tub. Was concerned that it could be a rowdy bunch of 20 somethings but it wasn't.
  17. Don't take this the wrong way. We absolutely love the cabin. Very spacious and comfortable. Yes, like everything else on board it needs updating. Cabin attendant is great, as is the rest of the crew. The only problem is the balcony. This is an aft facing cabin. Knew it would have an obstructed view from the super structure. Again no problem. The problem is that cabin and balcony are set back about 30 feet from the aft of the ship. We seldom, if ever, get a breeze. The heat builds up on the completely covered balcony and it's very hot out there, even at night. We often walk on deck 4 in the evening. We sit on the chairs. Always get a breeze. I assume in January this wouldn't be a problem but beware of August sailing from Galveston! Very, very hot!
  18. Btw if I recall correctly on our April TA on Jewel the children also needed to be vaccinated. A couple from the UK also had that problem not sure what they did. Didn't have enough time to vaccinate their child. So vaccination requirements for TAs are not new.
  19. Email today from Royal says testing required for our TA. Timing of test depends on vaccination and booster status. Also this is a 12th nt cruise so rules for shorter cruises don't apply.
  20. Not for October TA on Anthem. Per email that arrived today, still need to do proctored test.
