  1. I did get the message on the MedallionClass app to come back 48 hours prior to departure to enter the proctored test results, so I'll try again tomorrow. I think it's going to be the same area that's asking for self-test results.
  2. I understood that. My Itinerary and MedallionClass app were also stating that "testing is not required" for my upcoming cruise, but it IS an Enhanced Voyage and proof of a negative medically-observed COVID-19 test IS required. Up until the past few days when Princess started sending "Important Booking Information" to clarify that in fact we are required to have this test, it was only through the Protocol link I included in my earlier comment that I could confirm that we would need to have this negative test in order to board the ship for this itinerary. Given that kerfuffle, I thought it was prudent to suggest that you might also want to check for your voyage yourself as an additional precaution and for your own peace of mind. (How's this for irony - as I'm typing, my phone rings and it's a canned message from Princess Cruises reminding me that I must be tested 3 days prior to boarding the ship, and then I get a text "ping" with the same reminder. 🤭) It has been a confusing mess for so many - I'm just glad for you that you don't have that additional complication! Safe sailing! And Happy Holidays however you choose to celebrate.
  3. You are ultimately responsible for knowing the rules for each country, yes, but it's possible that you are on one of the Enhanced Voyages that now require more effort to confirm whether or not a medically-supervised test is required. I would suggest getting your Voyage Number from your Travel Summary, and check to be sure by going to https://www.princess.com/protocol/
  4. At the moment, I have made arrangements for the required pre-cruise test. Once onboard, though, if any additional testing is required as part of the itinerary, I would expect Princess to provide that. And I think this is a reasonable expectation given that was the way it was handled during our Alaska cruise-tour earlier this year that started on land - Princess arranged for the mandatory pre-cruise test at one of the lodges in preparation for boarding in Whittier. 🤔
  5. Sapphire Princess South America and Antarctica itineraries for December 2022 still showing as requiring the test prior to embarkation... Happy to know that enhanced voyages are being changed for some, even if not for ours. (yet? she adds with guarded optimism)
  6. In that same vein, it would be interesting to have the numbers that are being reported further defined by a) the number of passengers reporting to the Medical Center with symptoms who tested positive as opposed to b) the number of passengers with positive results from a test required as part of the itinerary, i.e. those who wouldn't have been tested otherwise and could have either embarked or disembarked not being aware of their positive status. That differentiation in what statistics are being compared might also have an impact on one cruise line appearing to have higher rates than others.
  7. Thank you for your quick response! We're in a similar ship (pun intended) - booked Princess Plus because it was a better deal during Best Sale Ever promo and prior to Princess Premium roll-out, and we will also likely have enough OBC to cover the overcharge. At least this gives me some insight as to what to expect with some of our other wine choices in the same price range.
  8. As someone who enjoys Belle Glos pinot noirs, I'm curious to know if that was within your Plus package limit or if there was an upcharge, please and thank you! I very much enjoyed your review, and you've definitely moved Kotor higher up my priority list! We were weathered out the last time it was on our itinerary, so it became a "one of these days we need to try again" item. I've now added, "soon." If you are a paella fan, I highly recommend Restaurante Salamanca in Barcelona if and when you are there again. Our tour guide in 2018 (retired 5-star hotel concierge, so he knows his stuff!) took us there and it absolutely lived up to his rave review. Again, thanks!
  9. Norwegian Cruise Lines has just begun construction of new dock facilities in Whittier, with an expected completion date of 2024 to accommodate NCL ships as well as Oceania and Regent Seven Seas. Just FYI.
  10. So I'm guessing that wasn't you who "cruised" by me in the silver Honda Pilot with Ontario plates and a Steelers decal in the rear window during the southbound migration on I-75 last week. 😁
  11. Thank you, thank you, thank you! {Hugs} and best wishes for a terrific cruise!
  12. If there's any way you could find out if Captain McBain will still be onboard for the Antarctica itinerary in December, I would very much appreciate that advance knowledge, please and thank you!
  13. We have experienced several medical evacuations and even ridden out a hurricane, and only one time been called to our muster station. There had been a report of someone going overboard around 1:00a, and after several in-stateroom announcements requesting the person call the front desk, the decision was made to muster everyone and do a head count. It turned out to be a false alarm (thankfully!). After 136 cruises, I consider that to be a statistically pretty rare occurrence. [I should note that the assembling that morning went reasonably smoothly, but there were some knuckleheads still in their staterooms when the stewards did their final checks...]

  15. Just FYI, when we have done the proctored tests, the proctor had us use the rear-facing camera to scan the QR code on the test kit, both before and after the test, so make sure you have easy access to that as well.
  16. I just wish using the MedallionClass app was even half as much fun as trying to figure out some of the acronyms (IMHO 😉) (BTW ❤️ TTFN)
  17. Based on my experience, if the proctor cannot see the test, they will tell you to keep tilting the camera on your device until they can. I have done tests using both PC and iPad, and it was easier on the iPad because, as you surmised, the PC had to be manually held at the tilted angle for the proctor’s field of view to include the test kit, but it is do-able. HTH.
  18. I do not know if this will help or not, but am offering this information as a potential starting point for you. DH was selected for the mandatory COVID-19 test when we arrived in BC last month. Included in the generic email notifying him of what he needed to do to get it done were links depending upon which province you were in, and for Quebec, the government was referring passengers to contact Biron. That website is https://travel.biron.ca Even if you cannot book a test directly with them, perhaps they can give you suggestions for another local option. 🤞🏻
  19. When I completed the ArriveCAN app three weeks ago, I uploaded the PDF file with my vaccination record, but no proof of negative test result. The only time I uploaded that was in the MedallionClass app. I honestly do not remember if there was a question relative to results of any recent test, though.
  20. If you are fully vaccinated (recommend going to ArriveCAN website if in doubt of whether or not you meet that definition) and you have uploaded a copy of your vaccination document, you are not currently asked to upload your Test Result.
  21. Can confirm test results were “looked at” in Vancouver for August 17 embarkation. 😊
