It appears that our Blue Lane status is because I “have not ordered Medallions.” I suspect this is very likely a glitch due to the way the app has connected our cruisetours - the current one ends at Fairbanks Riverside Lodge, and the next one starts at the Fairbanks Riverside Lodge. Two different bookings, two different itineraries, two different ships. Linked in the app for ? reason. This is now my second dust-up with issues created by what the app considers to be linked cruises - the first was two cruises in and out of Port Everglades in 2021, disembarking on Dec 19 and embarking Dec 20, again two different bookings, two different itineraries, two different ships. I tried finding out from the Ocean Navigator onboard the ship on my current cruisetour what the reasoning is behind the app being set up to designate linked cruises, and she gave me what I’d bet is the script answer: “if there is less than 72 hours between cruises, they are linked.” I tried pressing the issue, explaining some of the issues it has created in my real-time experience. I even said, in as many words, this is not a complaint, I am just trying to give you boots-on-the-ground feedback as to why this is not a good feature of the app. Once again, she had no answer, other than to tell me it was because I was using the ship’s internet and it wouldn’t be a problem once I was off the ship and could access the internet at one of the Princess Lodges. She did also tell me that she had emailed the Ocean Navigator on the next ship so that she was aware of my problems. At least one of us walked away from the encounter feeling she’d been as helpful as she could be. Thanks for letting me sound off. I am not expecting to find a fix here, but maybe someone else in a similar situation will read this and know it may not be as rare as the script would like you to believe. 😏 I cannot help but wish that the Ocean Navigation Team would be at least half as diligent about pursuing REAL solutions as they are about refining the script. (Oh, and accessing the app at the Kenai Princess Lodge has not allowed me to complete the check-in for the next cruisetour - big surprise - NOT!)

🤪 Uh, that would be a resounding NO! But hard to know which app glitch is causing that. I am midway between two cruisetours that the app has linked, so I can only access the first embarkation anyway. 😝

I have been in the Blue Lane for recent cruises because I would not provide my credit card data as that required authorizing Radiqal Gaming, LLC to store the information. This last cruise, in order to pre-reserve Specialty Dining using our Specialty Dining credit, I had to include my credit card data, even though the credit card wasn’t charged. And, you are so right - this was not a one-time authorization as the credit card now shows up on my future bookings. In discovering that aha, I also realized that there is now an option to delete the data from Shoreside Transactions. 🤔

I did not mean to suggest that anyone should delete their credit card information. For me, I have been objecting to the fact that in order to complete the check-in process on the MedallionClass app, it required authorizing Radiqal Gaming, LLC to store my credit card data as that’s the company handling Shoreside Transactions made on your cruise Medallion. Being able to choose to delete the credit card information is new - even though I still suspect that Radiqal Gaming, LLC already has the data and it’s a moot point.

Improvement? I noted today that there is now an option to delete the credit card information from the Shoreside Transactions section. It is still not clear to me if this truly means that I am not authorizing Radiqal Gaming, LLC to store my data, but at least it is a step in a positive direction, I hope.

I was hoping that sharing my experience might be a “workaround” for others trying to deal with getting the MedallionNet benefit that Platinum and Elite passengers have been told we’re entitled to. 😕

If you’re waiting to book onboard, I would suggest taking a screenshot of the cost of the 100% rate you are being offered pre-cruise as the 100% rate once onboard will likely be different (read: higher). That might help make the case that you should get the Elite pre-order price. 🤞🏻

Not for that cruise, no. In the ever-consistent inconsistency that is the Medallion Class app, one leg of our back-to-back offered the MedallionNet package at full price and the Elite 50% rate was offered on the second leg. 🤔 ETA: I received the 50% OBC discount for the pre-purchase full price and did not wait to book onboard. I did a quick experiment to “purchase” MedallionNet once onboard using DH’s Elite and noted it was higher than what I had paid. Regretfully, I did not make note of the actual price difference.

My experience: the 50% discount was applied on my account when we boarded the Grand Princess last month. HTH!

If you flew from a U.S. airport in the lower 48 to Fairbanks, you are no longer required to show negative test results. Per current requirements, you will need to show them when you arrive at the cruise terminal to board your ship, and may need them to complete the ArriveCAN app for an itinerary that includes a Canadian port of call.

How long before the script includes asking, “have you checked on Cruise Critic to see if anyone there has found a solution?” 🤨

And how 'bout those of us on a cruise-tour itinerary that starts on land the 31st of August but the cruise portion isn't until after September 6th... will a test still be required prior to arriving at the Princess Lodge?

You can put the "something" on the home screen yourself next time, if you'd like. Here's a screenshot to make it a bit easier to understand. Once you're onboard, access ship-name.princess.com to bring up Ocean Concierge. My screenshot is from the Grand Princess, but Grand can be replaced with whichever ship you're on fleetwide. After you've got that page open, use Share (icon should look something similar to the one in the bottom middle of my screenshot) to Add to Homescreen. This is the process for Apple iPhones and iPads, so maybe someone else could weigh in with how to do it on Android. HTH! p.s. I absolutely agree that it is a MUCH better version of Journeyview!!!

True dat. 🤭 In this case, though, it is different than other types of On Board Credit offered by Princess in that I am able to apply the OBC associated with the Shareholder's Benefit to pre-purchase Specialty Dining, for example. If the Shore Excursion OBC was posted to my account in the same way that the Shareholder's Benefit is and I used it to pre-purchase Specialty Dining only to have the shore excursion cancelled the day after my meal, I could see that this would cause no end of heartburn to rectify.

I can confirm that the 10% discount appeared as OBC only after we were onboard. Given the fact that two of our shore excursions were cancelled while on the cruise and 10% OBC credit for those tours then removed from our portfolio, I don't see that Princess will ever make that OBC available to use before boarding.

If not at the pier, then you might be given a keycard to get on board and then you’ll have to go to Guest Services to have new one(s) made. At least that’s the way it was done last December at Port Everglades. HTH

Just by way of information, we uploaded ours as well and were also asked for the documents at check in. I did not have hard copies of the test results, but the PDF files on my iPad were acceptable.
