  1. According to this screenshot for my upcoming Princess cruise, your Travel Agent should be able to book the plus package for your son. If your TA doesn't know how to do that for you, I'd recommend calling Princess directly.
  2. You can check the app to see how many drinks have been put to your account on any given day and decide for yourself at which point you want to ask to have the next drinks you order charged to the other person's account. (I'm not onboard atm so can't give you the exact steps for how to find that data.)
  3. Just one more stunning example of when Princess IT Department seems to confuse (or just accept) the definition of work-around versus FIX. 🤔
  4. I went from being complete to incomplete when I ordered the Medallions. My options were for either "Ship to address pre-cruise" or "Pickup via Blue Lane at port." Given that Blue Lane in the past was used for passengers with incomplete data, my conclusion is that there is still an association with incomplete data and blue lane just to cause further confusion for passengers.
  5. You probably won't be asked for the QR code. Just your passport and your Medallion, if you had that shipped to you at home, otherwise you'll get that at the port.
  6. Yes, dealing with that very same issue currently. Of greater annoyance is that mine is the first leg of a back-to-back and I can't access anything that needs to be done on the app for the second leg either.
  7. I was just answering the question about why someone might be permitted to make a reservation when the website would lead you to believe there are no rooms in the selected category available. You're right - there's definitely a risk to being "upgraded" to a less desirable location, but there are a couple of different threads discussing that if OP wants to pursue that aspect.
  8. There could be any number of reasons for this. Yes, another TA might have them, or all of the rooms could be reserved but some may open up when passengers decide to cancel or change that cruise or bid for an upgrade or miss final payment due date. There could also be ADA staterooms that are held aside until closer to cruise date to be sure anyone needing those can be accommodated. They may also be allowing you to make the reservation knowing that if the rooms in the category you're booking don't become available then Princess is obligated to put you in a higher category at no additional charge. Hope this helps to shed some light for you.
  9. The Medallion worked to open the stateroom door for me, but I have no experience with whether or not MedallionPay works.
  10. Our cruising since DH retired has been primarily itinerary-driven, and attaining status on different cruise lines was an added bonus, not the target. Given what seems to be the recent trend in the cruise industry of gutting loyalty benefits, we're content to stick with our same old, same old "who's going where we want to go next" rut. 😊
  11. And what about the insidious addition of Medallion Pay... getting onboard credit for an on-shore purchase is pretty far removed from the benefit of being able to open your stateroom door... Call me $keptical...
  12. We have spent a fair amount of time cruising in Alaska, and I can tell you from experience that the weather conditions can be even less predictable there than in the lower 48. We have learned to pack layers, including lightweight rainsuits and waterproof shoes, and worst case, when we haven't packed enough heavier clothing, there are always shops in each of the ports of call and we've come home with souvenir Alaska sweatshirts on more than one occasion. Our bottom-line philosophy is that the weather doesn't change what we do, just what we wear. Enjoy your trip!
  13. @Steelers36 - Darn. I thought you were referring to PescadoAmarillo's snorkel-masked avatar. 🥴
  14. I'm glad for you it was an easy (and pretty much painless) fix!
  15. @BamaVol, based on my experience with corrupt POLAR data, I'm recommending you also check the passport numbers in your reservation. Being the kind of person who's got them memorized, the incorrect numbers stood out like a sore thumb when I first saw the error (reversed with DH), but it's not something I would have thought to confirm "knowing" that information should have been automatically populated from our profiles. (Our reversed birthdates were a bit more obvious 🥴). HTH!
  16. I know, it surprised me too after all this time. Still don't care for the app, but what did make me loyal to Princess is still an intricate part of the cruise experience - hooray!
  17. I had something happen yesterday that brought this comment you made to mind. Back story: December of 2021, we had an issue caused by the shortcomings of the MedallionClass App that resulted in losing refundable onboard credit that we should have gotten a check for after disembarking. It was less than $100, but the principle of losing it because of the loathsome app really stuck in my craw. After months of reporting the issue and being told that tickets had been submitted, it had been kicked up the chain of command, etc. and no satisfactory resolution, it was no longer worth my time to keep after it. Yesterday, I had a voicemail from Princess Cruises saying that they had looked into the matter and agreed it was money we were due but given the length of time involved they could no longer issue the refund so instead would be giving us $100 onboard credit on our upcoming cruise. Yes, THIS is the Princess we talk about! 👏
  18. I was hoping that the information provided in the Press Release Princess issued November 7, 2022 that read, "With two seatings nightly, the cloaked venue accommodates 20 guests surrounded by LED walls in a circular format that places guests into featured destinations using stunning 4K cinematography" wasn't a veiled reference to the curtained-off section of the Horizon Court exactly as you mentioned on Diamond and Sapphire. I don't know how far along in the planning process the development team was with the Sphere Class designs, but as @Steelers36 mentioned above, maybe the 360 Experience will have its own dedicated venue.
  19. @Guindalf, I enjoyed your recent review of the Discovery Princess cruise which included the pre-arranged 360 dinner. You mentioned that you were asked not to give details away, but are you at least able to shed some light for curious future passengers as to where the 360 Experience takes place?
  20. Given the number of times I've seen people post alternative contact information here I wanted to manage expectations if someone thought this number was the backdoor to Medallion Experts. I have found that the information I've gotten by using this number has been hit-or-miss (sadly, mostly the latter) of late.
  21. What you are trying to book are two different trips. You can currently book a cruisetour with Princess to combine a cruise with a land tour, and those itineraries for 2024 are currently available to be booked on Princess.com. The screenshot you have included in your post above is from the PrincessLodges.com website, and that's the one that you would use to make independent travel arrangements to stay at a Princess Wilderness Lodge. I used it back in 2021 and was able to make a reservation at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge for our independent trip during the cruise pause. I have not booked the Denali Rail Service, but I suspect that those tour itineraries are not yet available because Alaska Railroad has not released their schedule for summer season 2024. Have you tried calling the phone number on the PrincessLodges.com website? It is 800-426-0500. You might be able to speak with someone who could at least give you a general idea of when the itineraries might be available. That doesn't help you know now what your options might be to coordinate with the cruise you already have booked, but unless you book an organized cruisetour with Princess, adding the independent travel as in your original post is going to have to wait. That's probably not the answer you were hoping for, but at least hopefully you'll have a better understanding of what's going on. HTH!
  22. Not for nuthin' but that's the number for general inquiries: 1-800-PRINCESS (1-800-774-6237) - ymmv with connecting to Medallion Experts. 🥴
