Yes, it is, as I stated previously, there may be a wait beyond your reservation time. What we have observed between 5:30 and 6 pm it appears to be very busy. Please be patient with staff, they try very hard to please everyone !

On our last X cruise in November 2022, we had Select dining but made reservations prior to sailing for each night of 10 night cruise. Reservations were confirmed on app and by notice in our cabin for 6pm nightly. Unfortunately, there was wait sometimes up to a 45 minute wait to be seated on most nights. My advice is to be flexible, especially if you want to attend shows.

Be careful tying to upgrade with X representatives. We just upgraded our Basic beverage package to Premium, but you may have to press the rep to get the correct pricing. I was bounced around to several reps all with a different price, trying to use my OBC. I finally gave up and contacted my TA who got it for a better price than qouted. Lesson learned, should have talked to my TA first.

So, is there a basic Starlink ? We have basic Wifi included as part of our everything package, is that Starlink or something else ? Not really into streaming but I need to check email and Blink cameras daily.

I apologize in advance if this particular subject has been addressed. We have cruised out of Tampa once before but never stayed in a hotel. Looking for a nice hotel in the area, staying night prior to cruise, night upon return and parking for duration, 10 nights. Breakfast and transportation to and from cruise port would be a plus but not required. Any suggestions would be most helpful ! Thank you !

The bottom line is it's just a personal preference. Personally, we enjoy top shelf liquor and premium wines. And...in the MDR you have a "bottomless" glass !

Hello again all ! We are almost newbies to HAL, we cruised once many, many years ago. I searched threads and could only find one from 2009. What is the laundry situation on HAL ? On X, we are Elite and get 2 bags of laundry. Is there a set price, do you have to have a status, is there self service laundry facilities ? Thanx !

Our last cruise was on the Constellation at the end ofd 2022. Great service, great food ! Only thing was the shows were not very good.

DON'T !!! Cigars for purchase on ships are crap, very dry, they are not kept in a humidor.

I hate to pile on but I had to make a comment on this subject. On our last X cruise on the Constellation, we couldn't wait to get a burger at Mast Grill. I got all the toppings and fries. Burger was inedible, cold & dry, bun was old and falling apart. Usually we have a burger at least 3-4 times, not on this trip.

I have been a dedicated Celebrity cruisers for years but that is the only cruise line I am familiar with. We are considering cruising with Princess soon. So, what is the name of the daily newspaper ? Is it placed in your cabin nightly ? Does anyone have a copy from any ship that cruised the Caribbean ? Thank You !

Please excuse me if this has been brought up previously. I just read about Princess making a home port out of Port Canaveral starting November 2024. I checked Princess website and nothing, no posted cruises for those dates and Port Canaveral not even listed.

We have sailed on the Silhouette several times in the Caribbean and have never seen local items sold on the ship.

Some where suits and some wear tuxedos, at least on one Chic night. In my observation I would say 30% suits/tuxedos, the other 70% nice collared shirts and slacks.

As soon as you are onboard check with your Maitre D. We have changed from anytime to the same time nightly by making reservations in MDR.

I had the same happen to me also. I had not received my bags by 6:30 PM so I went to MDR in shorts and Asst. Maitre D turned me away, I tried to explain I had not received my bags, she wasn't hearing it. Now, I cruise with slacks in carry on bags.

IMO, I have been on many X cruises. Dress code is NOT enforced, at all. We have seen folks in MDR wearing shorts, flip flops, tank tops, etc, staff did nothing. I think staff is afraid to confront people who break rules, seen it many times over and over.

Thank you everyone who responded ! We were pretty sure it would be about the same as X. On our last X cruise B2B in November, 2022, there were about 30 people and we all waited in the MDR, great breakfast and then we were all escorted through customs and back on ship, it took about 30 minutes !

We are long time X cruisers and are considering HAL FOR NEXT CRUISE. we noticed a lot of HAL cruises start in Fort Lauderdale, return to Fort Lauderdale and start agin for 2nd leg. How does it work with those type of cruises when it returns ? Do you leave ship and re-embark ? What is the procedure, Thanx.

I don't want to get away from thread, sorry. How much do you tip the porter ? I have been told by other veteran cruisers that the norm is $5 per bag ? We usually have 2 large suitcases and we give porter $20. I know I will probably get flack from others, but, after many cruises have never lost bags. Just another observation, I have seen porters at Miami, Tampa and Ft Lauderdale get upset or complain to other porters about low tips.

I don't know if this happened to others. On our last X cruise back in November, 2022 on the Constellation, we wanted so bad to get a burger at the Mast Grill, always good ! Except this one. Buns were very dry and falling apart and burger was so dry and tough, ver unappetizing. We will try again on next cruise but definitely will try the I think its called the Garden Grill ?

We have not cruised since menus change on X. I have seen snippets of the menu but not the full menu. I would love to see differences before we cruise later this year !
