  1. @dfish,Debbie, I just saw your good news and I am very happy for you.Congratulations!
  2. Good morning and thank you so much for the continued encouragement for the family. This includes @StLouisCruisers, @Sharon in AZ, @dfish, @rafinmd, @kazu and @Quartzsite Cruiser. Yesterday I was so upset that I parked myself out in the backyard for a while to calm down. I am usually very even tempered but I think fatigue and worry just got to me.I decided then that we need to make changes with more than getting home health aide assistance. We all talked it over with Tana at dinner last night and hopefully things will improve. The aide came at 7 and seems to be very good. Dinner tonight is take out! Terry
  3. Thank you to @crusing-along, @kazu and @bennybear for the encouragement Tomorrow will be better I am sure.
  4. @JazzyV, Vanessa, I used to start to feel the return of the awful hand pain two days ahead of the injection also.I hope you are having less or a reaction to it now because it truly helps. Also, thank you for your prayers and your ongoing kindness. It is appreciated. @dfish,how wonderful to get an offer right away.Thank you as well for your positive thoughts for the family. And thank you to @TiogaCruiser and @Quartzsite Cruiser for thinking of us. We need to regroup a little here as tempers are fraying!
  5. Good morning everyone. We are going to try the first recipe tonight thanks to Debbie @dfish.I hope you get an offer soon on your house. It is a stressful time while one waits. I no longer eat donuts but love crab every possible way it can be cooked. We have not been to Cambodia but would like to see pictures. We have had a lot of long nights here in the last week and everyone is cranky and tired.I have an urge to just get in the car and drive but that is neither practical or responsible. We meet with the Hospice team today to discuss additional help.It is expensive but if we all share the cost it should be possible. Thanks for the Daily/Fleet report. It is a good place to visit every day.
  6. Good morning to all.We has a big thunderstorm this morning which I would think woke the entire neighborhood at 5 am.It remains quite humid so far. The recipes look good but we usually opt for the fresh dumplings we can get at H Mart. Tana often asks me to pick up their kimbap as well. We have not been to the port but would love to see pictures. @Cruzin Terri, I am so sorry to hear that there is just so much damage. Camilla spent the day with her grandpa and he made her a "throne" on their deck.
  7. Good morning to all. I sometimes feel as if most of my day is spent encouraging people and will celebrate that day. I have never enjoyed video games or chocolate milkshakes. We have not been to Bangkok but would love to see pictures. @kazu, Jacqui, I enjoyed seeing the pictures of your beautiful outdoor space set up for the Celebration of Life. I am glad your sister and BIL were with you as it had to be both a happy and a sad occasion.Did you make all the food? @puppycanducruise, Happy Birthday to your Mom! @dfish, I hope the photo taking goes well and that you can enjoy a rest. Thanks for the recipes today. We always use the foolproof Ina Garten recipe and will do so today as the Executive chef decrees. I just need to figure out something for the vegetarians. Terry
  8. Good morning from a cloudy, muggy NY. Yonkers lost many firefighters, police officers and emergency responders on 9/11.We have a memorial three blocks from my house that has a girder from the building attached to a wall with the names inscribed. It was somber there today when I walked the dogs as several families gathered in front of the monument. Some were headed to the City for the ceremony there today. I will salute my wonderful grandparents today and my own grandchildren as well. I was fortunate in that all were nearby and we saw them frequently when my brothers and I were growing up.All four left the countries of their births to come here and start new lives. Terry
  9. My niece sent pictures today of Camilla. She is 15 months next week abd is not only walking but running. Wait until she finds out there is a Queen with her name.
  10. Good morning everyone. It is a beautiful day with blue skies and a breeze. We have not been to the port but will celebrate Sewing Machine Day. The recipes look good and have been scrutinized by the executive chef. We will try the first recipe tonight and make two separate dishes in order to please the vegetarians. I even had all of the ingredients on hand. @ger_77, I am so impressed that you were able to officiate at your dear friend’s funeral. It had to be so sad, especially at the cemetery. I delivered a eulogy for a dear friend and only got through it without crying because I was still in that state of shock from a sudden death. Jacqui @kazu, I am thinking of you often throughout the day today. I hope the weather cooperated . @Cruzin Terri, I was glad to see that you are in a more comfortable living situation. I hope the coming days are better for you ending hugs as well. Tana’s son made the JV Football team and DD and I have divided up the driving to practice duties. He is so excited and we are happy to see him so happy. Terry
  11. Happy Anniversary to Ann and Chuck @marshhawk! Enjoy your cruise as well.
  12. Good morning to all. We have a nice day here with pleasant dog walking accomplished earlier. I salute literacy and date nut bread and will acknowledge the &.We have not been to the Philippines and look forward to pictures. Thank you Debbie. @dfish for the ideas for sweet and sour sauce as well as the lower sugar recipe.Decisions have not been made yet on our dining options but it sure sounds good to me. @Cruzin Terri, I sure hope the insurance will cover a hotel stay.It sounds very stressful living with the after effects of the flood. Almost 30 years ago we lost our home( along with 8 other families) in a fire.It was a condo development and a nightmare to rebuild and try to salvage anything. The insurance covered a short hotel stay and some funds for a rental. That was a long time ago though. @JazzyV, Vanessa, I have a similar problem with fried foods and now completely avoid them.It makes for dull dining and I am sorry this has been an issue for you. Terry
  13. Good morning everyone. It has stopped raining but the sun has not come out yet. The recipes look good but we are making more soup today for the evening meal.I used to love beer way too much….Salami is an occasional treat. My in laws lived for many years in Ft. Lauderdale and DH and I made many trips from NY by car when various situations arose . We stopped at the port once on the way back home and enjoyed our visit. That part of Florida was less developed at the time and quite beautiful to explore. Our teenager reported that the first day of high school was “ok”. It is a big school and a bit of an adjustment. Tana gave the ok for him to try out for the JV football team and he was happy about that. He is now 14 and 6 feet tall. Time marches on. Terry
  14. Good morning from a very rainy NY. Flash flooding is possible today and DD and DSIL are very happy to have a newly installed pump in the basement. Last year rain like this completely flooded the basement and required new floors, Sheetrock etc to make the apartment below us habitable again. The port today looks like a great place to visit, thanks to @StLouisCruisers for the pictures. Thanks for the recipes, Tina @0106. I will follow your example and make peach salsa to go with the crockpot recipe for a pork tenderloin. The executive chef is presently busy with the peaches and I will get the tenderloin going soon. I am always reading and will often be found stirring a pot on the stove with one hand and holding the kindle with the other. There are many nights when I can’t put the book/kindle down and just stay up reading.I figure there are worse obsessions. Procrastination for me relates mostly to putting off cleaning around here but I will eventually get it done when I look in horror at the kitchen floor especially. Two dogs and six people for dinner every night keeps the “swiffer “ company in business. I watched the school busses pick up kids this morning and everyone looked so excited, even in the pouring rain. It is the first day of school here.
  15. A very Happy Anniversary to Sandi and Dennis @StLouisCruisers!
  16. Good morning. Our humidity and temperatures are the same as Sandi's @StLouis Cruisers. Sorry, the blue bubble is missing in action today. We have not been to the port and like the recipes a lot. I will save them for another day as we have vegetarian chili bubbling on the stove this morning. Happy Labor Day to everyone celebrating. I always worked on holidays and used to enjoy driving home with few people on the road.We always tried to make the holiday special for the patients and it usually was a good day with a skeleton crew.I find myself very occasionally missing work. I am glad Gerry and her DH were safe and sound but so sorry to hear of so many injured or killed. We live in dangerous times. I am also thinking of Joy and Allen and hope all is well this morning. Terry
  17. @Cruzin Terri, I am so sorry about the flood.I hope the help comes soon.
  18. @Seasick Sailor, I am so glad that your Allen was well taken care of and that you are already home. Sending prayers for you both.I hope the tests on Tuesday are helpful.
  19. Good morning to all. It is cloudy right now with a possibility of rain at some point today. The executive Chef and I very much liked the frittata suggestions and will try the spinach and roasted pepper one later today. We ended up cooking on the grill last night as the weather held but ate inside so we could all be together.Thank you Tina @0106! We have not been to the port and will salute the collection of days. Manners are so necessary everyday and in most situations.Thank you to all that contribute to the Daily. Our teenager took “ a friend” to the movies yesterday when I told him about the three dollar tickets. I will find out later what they saw but it is the first time in two and a half years that anyone went to see a movie here. Terry
  20. Good morning to all. Thanks for the great recipes Tina, @0106.They all look hmm.. My parents were huge Giants fans and had quite a tradition of tailgating for 40 years. DH began accompanying my mom after my father died to these games. The running joke was that this was the reason for our marriage...hmmm. @luvteaching, I send my belated condolences for the passing of your friend and fellow teacher. @aliaschief beautiful pictures with your new phone.thanks Terry
  21. @Quartzsite Cruiser,A very Happy Anniversary to you both! @marshhawk, and to you and your Dh as well!
