Deployment 2025-26 booking season begins
Saab4444 replied to SummmerInKefalonia's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You tender and go by bus to the North Cape. Issue is that big ships like Preziosa have a high chance to skip ports like Spitsbergen and North Cape due to weather and it is very crowded with so many people. I would do those beautiful ports with much smaller ships. -

I would consider Celebrity Eclipse from Amsterdam. -

According to the official Royal schedule Europe 2025 is published, any additiional ship (e.g. Jewel) would be an unexpected and late change, I doubt it. -

I trust 2025 will also be changed soon, step by step… -
Explorer of the Seas October 2024
Saab4444 replied to Sarahbear666's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Why did they change this? If I understand it correctly all stops in Dubrovnik and Kotor are now gone so no more Adria visits beside Split for big ships. This is a big change for the future! -
Grandeur of the Seas Be Wary 12/17-12/27

It is not that pretty clear as they can not simply retire all smaller ships without having at least some replacements that are required for many itineraries and ports. -
Adventure OTS refurbishment question
Saab4444 replied to Surfguyxxx's topic in Royal Caribbean International
A broken coffee machine is not really a dry dock topic and I trust on Icon they will break down from time to time in some months as well due to extensive use.... -
LIVE!!! ICON OF THE SEAS INAUGURAL

Biggest is not best per se. I am not sure how many frequent travellers would agree that those are the best ships in the World…. -
Norwegian Fjords or Spain/France Itinerary with Baby
Saab4444 replied to cdr520's topic in Royal Caribbean International
In general it is vice versa, Biscaya is much more rocky than the North Sea and there sre no waves at all in the Fjords. -
Norwegian Fjords or Spain/France Itinerary with Baby
Saab4444 replied to cdr520's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The smaller cities and ports in Norway are much easier to navigate with a baby, sure a more relaxed experience. Spain/France ports are more industrial and cities are bigger and more crowded. -
Adventure OTS refurbishment question
Saab4444 replied to Surfguyxxx's topic in Royal Caribbean International
This time frame is just for standard technical refurbishments and some cleaning/replacements as you mentioned above. Why do you ask for removing public space and adding more cabins? Are not enough people on board now? Cutting a ship in half and lengthen it takes some months and has never been done for such a big ship, will not happen. -
No worries! If they have to go from Dubai to the Med around Africa on May 9 they simply have to cancel the next 11 day cruise from Athens to Istanbul on May 27. With this adjustment they will be back on UWC schedule for all June departures and later starting with June 7 from Istanbul. They will not make more adjustments than needed.

Arctic Cruise Question - Northern Lights
Saab4444 replied to Colonel Sun's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Do one in Winter or at least between October and March. Cunard and P&O offer some from Southampton. -
3-4 night dining menu rotation

The answer is no, not all the same, and please look into your cruise planer to find details for your specific voyage. -
Icon passenger to crew vs other ships
Saab4444 replied to cusematt4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Of course it is more cramped on the monsters, especially when more than 7000 people try to get in and out or gather at the same events. -
Poor dog, why do they do this to him? He should have a life as a dog and not as a mascot prisoned on a noisy crowded ship.

There is no relation between currently available cabins and what you could get via Royal Up program, every location is possible.

Is Royal Caribbean building any small ships?
Saab4444 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Try to think outside America. All those Oasis and Quantum class ships are e.g. too big for many European ports and areas. And Celebrity Edge class ships are much bigger than Vison or Radiance. If Royal continous with big ships only they shoot themselves out of many destination markets but maybe this is ok for them and the way they want to go. For sure they will lose many customers who prefer interesting and diversified destinations but yes, they can fill the ships with others... For sure we will not book anymore standard 7 night Caribbean, Alaska or Med cruises just because of another new monster ship that has a bigger waterslide or some more pay restaurants. -
Will Royal do another world cruise?
Saab4444 replied to LAKaye's topic in Royal Caribbean International
A Freedom Class would not be able to stop at many ports of the World Cruise, simply too big.
