  1. propel = strawberry lemonade - they had three or four others which also has the electrolytes Gatorade - only had two - orange and glacier freeze go to walmart.com and they sell them online
  2. After reading these posts, I decided to get the powder Gatorade. amazon sells 5 packages of 10 packets each - 50 total packets for 14.99 (or 2.99 each box) i went to Walmart today and paid $1.98 for 10 packets - so 50 packets (or five boxes) would cost $9.90 I bought 3 boxes of Gatorade and one box of Propel. Different flavors and they both had expiration dates of Feb 2023
  3. We were Celebrity cruisers, until we decided to try Princess with their 28 day LA roundtrip to Tahiti. We spent a lot for a Balcony, no princess plus at that time (2018), I think we paid $3200 per person and then had to pay for gratuities on top of that. Because there were so many sea days, we played in the Casino and after we got home we got Casino offers So we did a number of cruises out of LA (our home port) and received offers of free inside cabin, with free casino play money. Then covid - after they started the cruises back up, we got offers that were great - free balcony, plus package and casino play. We booked four cruises and have our five, sixth and seventh coming up - except now the offers are not as good. We still get offered a free cabin, but an inside, not balcony and it costs to upgrade, some offers with princess plus, some not. So we will finish this years cruises and then see what we get offered. If the price is not right, we won't go. We no longer have any cruises that are on our bucket list, so anywhere we go now will be a repeat. I have always said that we would book last minute and get a great price, but the cruise we want they discontinued - 10 day roundtrip out of LA to Alaska - we had to book the one out of San Francisco and pay for airfare, which is not what we want to do. We will not go "inside cabin" we need the view and the fresh air.
  4. We are have a B2B scheduled for September. Two 10 day trips cruise one - no princess plus - we had it on the booking, then cancelled it. Saved $800 total. We will have to pay out of pocket for the gratuity, but we have $500 OBC. We will use the internet everyday when we get off the ship - we do not drink alcohol at home, hubby will get a diet soda when needed. cruise two - offer came with the princess plus, so we will have it. We did a 28 day LA round trip to Tahiti with no princess plus package. We survived just fine.
  5. We had a bar face soap that was on the bathroom counter and the liquid soap, with the liquid shampoo in the shower. You can ask for more soap (bar) if needed.
  6. I bring all of the above items that everyone has listed. We always have the regular bandages, tape, etc. for first aid, but the throat lozenges, cold medicine and cough drops are standard now. We will continue to wear our masks when on board. Was hoping by June (next cruise) that things would have improved, but in southern California, things are on the rise again.
  7. The sea days can be a lot when you have five or six in a row. Bring plenty of reading materials or games so you can break up your day when the ship offers nothing of interest to you. Eat, sleep and pray all day long
  8. We are on a cruise that returns to NYC port. Our flight is out of La Guardia at 1:06p. We have transfers from the ship to the airport which cost us $39 each ($78 total)
  9. Ours was hanging in the closet hooked to a pants hanger.
  10. On your next cruise, it shows you can purchase OBC for the cruise - which can be used in the casino, but no more than $1500 per cabin - not per person Warning: When we were on the Majestic they had a bug in the system - example: You sit at the machine, you hit the login and say you want to play $40 in the machine. After 10 - 20 spins, you decide you don't like the machine and you hit "cash out" or "collect" - the left over money is suppose to go back to your account - watch to make sure it does. A couple of times it did not and we had to get the slot attendant to check the machine.
  11. put a roller suitcase open under the bed, fill it with dirty clothes, when full, close it up, roll it down to the laundry room.
  12. I agree that going to Guest Services and switching rooms is a hassle, "but" wanting to try out a mini suite for an additional $280 for the week is way better than paying the published price at the time of booking. We would love to try out a full suite, but not at the prices listed. This is not beating the system. We only tried the upgrade on board because of the people on this board telling us about their success. Now that ships are filling up, moving to other cabins will be harder. A lot of people seem to have a certain cabins/ area that they want to be in on every cruise. We have tried all over the ship - left, right, high, low, middle, front, back - we don't care. Don't like inside cabins, want the balcony so we can go out.
  13. We were on a B2B in Dec on Majestic out of LA - got on board and immediately went to Guest Services and paid $30 per night (not pp) (total cost $330) for the 11 night cruise to go from Balcony to Mini Suite. Ship was 50% capacity. In March 7 night cruise again on Majestic out of LA - went to Guest Services and paid $40 per night to get Mini Suite. (total cost $280) ship was probably 60 - 70% In April 7 night cruise on Discovery out of LA - Guest Services said they would put us on a waiting list - we said no - did not want to wait around to unpack. Ship was considered full, even though they announced 2802 guests, ship holds i think 3600 - I think our days are over in upgrading once on board the ship
  14. Did the Tahiti, did the Hawaii, wanted to do the 10 Alaska from LA, but they don't offer that anymore, so we are going out of San Francisco. Doing Canada/New England, flying in NYC - that is the longest flight I want to do. We don't get off the ship for the Mexico Rivera cruises either. Love Alaska, so we may do it once a year even if it means flying to San Francisco
  15. we did a cruise before Christmas and we gave our room steward $100. last two cruises (march and april) we gave $50 we did not tip in the dining room, we sat at a different table every time we went in there, never had the same staff waiting on us. We give $5.00 to the guy that brings us room service, which we order once or twice during the cruise We carry around $1.00 bills and give them if we are sitting some where and we order more than one drink. We do not feel that we have to tip but the main person that we have the most contact with is our room steward.
  16. I will probably call back before the expiration of the offer. Problem is we have the 3 cruises already booked and not sure where to go next. Have already done the Mexican Rivera 4 times and the California Coast twice and we only want to go out of San Pedro.
  17. We also received the same offer. Also told that it was a mistake. I told her to forget it and sent an email to the Casino Department. One - they need more people to answer the phones and they need to know what is going on. We currently have 3 cruises booked for the rest of the year - all casino offers - but receiving "error" offers is not going to cut it with me.
  18. We will be on the Ruby next month for 10 days. We are not picky about food, but we will go with the flow. Next month will be our 10th cruise with Princess and I can say that we have enjoyed the food on every cruise.
  19. Majestic in December, and in March. Discovery in April
  20. We have been on 4 cruises since December. I have found the food just as good as "bc" (before covid). My plate is always clean when they clear away the dishes. I have even tried new dishes because people "here" have said how good they were - the goat cheese souffle !! I am going to try new dishes each night.
