We always check our account daily when we do not have the package. We have always had charges that we did not do. That said, I think that if you have a package, your account is probably getting charges from others. We have a 17 day cruise coming up in 2025 and no package. I will definitely check my account daily.

if you use cash to start, the $500 will be on the machine and once you cash out (their term), the money goes in your bank on the casino account. So you put in $500 on first day, play all week, win or lose you have money in your account on the last day, you then go to the casino cage and cash out and receive real money.

Update what a difference a day makes. Decided not to use our free certificate for free cabin with Holland. We booked a 17 Alaska cruise with Princess for May of 2025 - yes 606 days to sail a way. We upgraded our free interior cabin to a oceanview window cabin on Lido deck for $1200 (total).

Update. after going back and forth with Holland or Princess - we are doing nothing We found a 10 cruise on Holland to Mexico that my brother was interested in and we thought we would check it out. My husband had a free room and he would book it with my brother as his guest I had a free room and I would book solo because Labor Day weekend was so busy I did not get a call back until yesterday. cost was going to be an additional $1,000 each cabin to go from free interior to obstructed balcony which is way more than what I was quoted for the 7 day. we said no thank you and checking out something on Princess. with the high costs of internet, water, etc on board Holland, we are better off with Princess. Now that we are elite, we get free drinks in the mini fridge, and if we pick a VIP, free drinks in casino, internet cost $7.50 a day, Holland is $29.99 a day

that's why the casino department gives out the free cabins. You pay for your cabin gambling in the casino. for those that do not gamble you give your money to the Cruise line for those that gamble give their money to the casino

that is a good question. With Princess the offers have changed from getting free balcony to free inside. Offers included the beverage packages, gratuities and wifi (plus package) but now they are excluded The offers with Princess is based on the points you earn while gambling in the casino.

All VIP cruises we have taken, free drinks in the Casino only - either from the server or you go to the bar and get it yourself. They will have a special badge for you to wear while you are in the casino to get your free drinks.

We are looking at the cruise to get ourselves established with Holland. We have seen several Alaska cruises that we like better with Holland than Celebrity or Princess. We get casino offers with Princess, which is a free cabin - once we do our first cruise with Holland, we are hoping to get offers from them. We really liked Celebrity, then tried Princess and did our 15 cruises with Princess to get to Elite status. We will continue to do Princess if we get an offer that we can not refuse. thanks to all for information, hate to take a cruise and spend the time figuring out stuff on our own.

Princess has an international cafe - coffee and free danish and sandwiches the coffee is $3.50 per 16 oz cup (like the grande at starbucks) does Hal have a coffee bar and what is the cost. I looked at the website given above, but missed anything regarding coffee costs. If water is $5.00 per bottle and coffee runs the same, the one package for $17.99 might be the way to go.

Still planning to do the cruise We do not get the beverage packages - alcohol is not a priority nor the internet. We would end up paying as much for the extras as we do the cabin cost. We enjoy the lunch because everyone else is upstairs in the buffet.

We are Elite with Celebrity and Princess. We are going on our first Holland cruise. with Princess you can bring a case of water, and 12 pak of soda is this allowed with HAL Also, Princess allows you to purchase 12 bottles of water prior to the cruise for $7.05 = HAL ?? Internet on Princess is $15.00 per day (we get half off because we are elite) for one device - HAL? after we board with Princess, they have lunch served in the MDR from noon until 1:30 - doe HAL offer this anything else I should know "dummies" has 254 pages and i don't really want to go through all of that. thank you for your response.

I go to guest services for a hard copy on the last day of the cruise. I also check my account on the phone daily. I have had "not me" charges on my account and have had to have them corrected which they do at guest services when I report it. Usually I get an email within 2-3 days a statement and it has always matched my copy that I got on board.

My bedtime is around 11 so I don't know how much later the bar or casino is open. I know that people play all night long when it is a sea day

the bar is usually closed when casino is closed.

when you say "discount" - did you get an email or postcard ? all offers should have a "code" and they look you up and see if that is attached to your account. call back with the code

no paper tickets. when you play, you have to create an account based on your cabin and your birthdate to establish who is playing. Once you have an account, it keeps track of your play. You can start by feeding in money into the machine and play, or you can charge $$$ to your cabin and that is now your starting money to play. So if you charge $100 to your cabin it will show $100 credit on that machine, now you play and after 30 spins, at $1 a spin you are down to $70 credit, so you hate that machine and you want to move to another - hit the "cash out" button and the machine will let you know that $70 has been moved to your "bank". You go to the next machine, put in your "code" and it will ask if you want to transfer all your money in your bank to this machine or just a portion. And you start all over again. Always make sure before you leave the machine, that you have cashed out and it says that the money has transferred to your bank.

if you are playing the "free play account money" you do not accumulate points You have to establish an account using your medallion. You do not have to charge the amount you want to gamble with to your cabin, you can put in cash, but when done with the machine, the leftover money from the machine goes to your account. At the end of the cruise you need to cash out if you still have money in your account.

On one of the last cruises we were on I saw a lady that had over 30,000 points and she told me that she got free suites, and they would eat in the speciality restaurants every night - her husband did not gamble. I knew I would never gamble that much, but she was in the casino every sea day and every night playing.

We have not been on Celebrity in years, but when we were they would come by and offer a free dinner in the speciality restaurant or free drinks

We have done cruises that were slot tournament cruises with money prize of $10,000 for the winner - that cruise was totally full of gamblers for the whole trip. another cruise was $75,000 for the winner and that full of gamblers also. any of the VIP cruises have been busy, but not as bad as the tournament cruises. this past cruise we were able to get machines whenever we went to the casino. we do not play the tables so I don't pay attention to how busy they are. the points are how they measure your play and that is how you get your future offers.

We were platinum on our cruise last month (it was our 15th cruise, so now elite). I purchased the internet for one at cost of $105 prior to boarding - once on board I went to guest services to make sure that the correct credit card was being used and asked about my discount and was told that the $52.50 credit was already on my account.
