We've booked an 8-night on Carnival Horizon in a Spa Balcony on Deck 14 (cabin #14226).  Any experiences / reviews / thoughts about noise issues from the Serenity Deck directly above this cabin?  Or experiences with this deck / area?  We haven't usually selected this high up or this far forward, but since our first choice (Havana balcony) still isn't available we're hoping that the Spa Balcony will be a good choice.  I'll be traveling with my sister, looking forward to time to relax and enjoy a visit that is just us - no spouses / kids / grandkids on this one!  Really appreciate any experiences you can share - hoping that there isn't too much noise from deck chairs, etc. above us in that area.

    Hi @txsmiles🙂

I just wanted to point out two things; 14226 is a handicap accessible cabin. Also, 14226 does not have an overhead balcony cover (no roof). Others will be able to give you more input, I just wanted to touch upon those two things.

I’m about 50/50 on MDR v buffet, but I must admit that the served meal shown above is a little underwhelming and doesn’t scream Thanksgiving Feast. Imma need a little more on my plate. 😂

    Hi @CruzerDeb🙂

Keep in mind, that yummy looking 'WHOLE' turkey in the buffet is just that; a whole turkey that (will not) be on your plate. I wouldn't base your decision on 2 photos out of thousands & thousands of previous Thanksgiving dinners given to passengers in a MDR or buffet onboard a cruise ship.

You have 13 months to decide where you want your Family of 6 to spend Thanksgiving dinner. Focus on the 6 being (together) for Thanksgiving, even if the meal were peanut butter & jelly.

We will be on the Mardi Gras in October, I know they will have some activities for Halloween, but is there one specific night that everyone would wear costumes?  As in adults and kids for dinner/the evening?  Also, are there any other special dress up nights/parties ie white night/flower power?

    Hi @petuniaflower🙂

I may have missed this since I tend to visit the boards intermittently when I have an upcoming cruise, but are paper Fun Times officially back across the board or is this new? On our Mardi Gras cruise last week we received one every night (as did everyone else on our floor since I could see them in mailboxes). This wasn't the case with any other cruise I've done since the restart, so I don't know if it is just a Mardi Gras thing or if it is coming back on all ships.

Are these available on shorter cruises? We are on the Freedom November 11, and I'm not seeing anything!

I believe they are only available on a handful of ships.  A Google search would tell you which.

    Hi @Susan in Maine & @RCmommy🙂

    Avaliable on the ships below.

    Hi @jam19872016🙂

I'm glad you knew that going in. Your voyage on Cunard is 14-nights, which means you'll have Four Gala Evenings. I wish you could experience just one. Even if it were just for the food alone.

Gala evenings on Cunard go beyond the dining room a lil bit and will have four different themes. Your sailing will have all four since its a 14-night. Black & White Theme. Red & Gold Theme. Masquerade Theme & Roaring 20's Theme.

You'll find these themes throughout the ship on Gala Evenings. They'll be ship decorations; Musical acts performing throughout the night; Signature cocktails & dishes to the evenings theme in bars & restaurants, and so on..

They'll always be some passenger's that don't participate, so I certainly wouldn't sweat it at all. You won't be alone.

Loving what will eventually be, when completed, a 56-Day adventure! You're doing a terrific job with this review! WOW!

Happy sailing! You're making wonderful memories!

I'm loving the food. Not just because it's different but because it's good. Like really, really good.

    Hi @jam19872016🙂

Tonight I believe will be 'Gala Evening' number three during your Cunard adventure. Now that you know how terrific the food is & has been, will you be giving Gala Evening a try? There's only two left. The Gala Evening food alone is next level. Just to experience a Gala Evening once on Cunard is certainly an experience. I don't think you need to rent a tux & could get away with a suit jacket.

    Happy sailing @jam19872016!!
