  1. It is my understanding that you can submit a "Transfer Request Form" to the Viking California office, at least thirty days before sailing. Only available on the cruise departure or arrival day, and only between the ship and the main airport. VIKING TRANSFER REQUEST FORM.pdf
  2. c-leg5 - there are maps of the Puerto Maya pier (Carnival), but I’ve not found any of the International Pier (SSA) where Royal/Celebrity usually dock. 🙁 I’m looking for a Tommy Bahama store. The YouTube videos go past the directory too fast (blurry) or not at all. Sometimes Google is not too good!
  3. Had the same problem. Booked and paid in full. Received email showing a zero balance. A day later an email stating I owed $1,950. Quick call on the following Monday, some time on hold as the Celebrity CSR took care of the glitch, and a second email showing a zero balance. I just put my phone on speaker and do some chores while I wait.
  4. I'm trying to find a map or directory of the shops/restaurants at the International (Royal Caribbean) Pier in Cozumel. Does anyone have one they can post?
  5. Hey Google! How about creating a Google Cruise app like the Google Flights app? It would be great to be able to easily see a "price history" for a specific cruise/cabin.
  6. That was easy! Called and ten minutes later had a new cabin assigned. I was not picky, any deck than the original would be GREAT! Deck 12 on Equinox is under the overhang (and the buffet).
  7. Booked yesterday. Was assigned the next day. Will call and see about moving.
  8. Take a look at the roll call for your voyage! https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2908472-cities-of-antiquity-the-holy-land-viking-venus-nov-14-–-nov-28-2023-athens-to-rome/#comment-64666678
  9. The only way to truly avoid a far-in-advance payment is to book just a few months before the cruise you are interested in. And always have a Plan B, if that cabin class or cruise is sold out. In October 2023 we booked "In Search of the Northern Lights" departing March 2024, with final payment due early November 2023. Approximately 120 days in advance. If the cabin or cruise was unavailable, our Plan B was to do an independent land trip. We are interested in going on a Viking River cruise to Egypt in the fall of 2025. No way we will book, or pay in full, before early 2025.
  10. Lemondrops - Please let us know how many Sky Miles you used to upgrade and to what cabin? I'm very curious, maybe even nosy...
  11. Working on booking "In Search of the Northern Lights" for March 2024. STA23 didn't work STS23 included air, but since we are overnighting in London, it was not beneficial.
  12. Thank you for your review! Did you have any experience with room service?
  13. Vince why do you say Symphony can not reach capacity? Isn’t that the goal of any cruise line?
  14. On Saturn currently, cabin 3056 directly above Torshavn. Shuts down at Midnight. You hear bass but didn’t notice it with the tv on. The door to the laundry across the hall is louder! Above the restaurant would be much more quiet.
  15. One should not withhold tips, but I will certainly tip EXTRA for a second service. If my room attendant is in the area anyways, a quick three-minute pop-in to refresh the room will be rewarded.
  16. What did you pay for internet? Thanks for the review - will be onboard in October with extended family.
  17. What is a good price for 1 device per day? My rate on Wonder this fall is $18.99 per day for 1 device.
  18. YIKES!!! Did not know this about our upcoming Royal Wonder cruise. Can I ask my attendant for twice-a-day service? Their answer will certainly affect their extra tip!
  19. I’m surprised to hear that Viking’s buffet is self serve.
  20. OneSixtyToOne - Was there a promo code for the Egypt 2025 river cruise? I'm tracking this cruise, but the fares have not changed.
  21. Viking probably has many convoluted arrangements with their air partners. For example, paid extra for “premium economy” to Iceland from the US, with a return from Norway. This was above free air. US flights are on Delta in Comfort +, transatlantic on Icelandair in Saga Class, returning from Europe on Delta in Premium Economy. For my premium economy flights, Icelandair has me in their Saga Class - Viking did not call it business. I was not given any alternatives on MVJ when Viking booked nor ticketed my flights. Very satisfied for the $1,099 I paid. Best I’ve found on my own is nearly $4,000
