  1. We were bumped from our assigned room on Allure in February 2022 at embarkation due to an issue with the latch and the door on the balcony
  2. I use a TA all the time, I have NEVER paid "sticker price" for a cruise, the TA always has group space and the fares are always cheaper (sometimes considerably) the deposits are fully refundable, and there is always some type of perk thrown in (OBC, dining, wine.....) Also, some of those premium spots on the ship that show sold out when you look on the Royal website, are actually available and being held by travel agents for their customers. The most important benefit, to me, without question, is anytime I have an issue I email the TA, and it is handled in a matter of hours. No phone calls, no dealing with offshore customer service, no phone trees, and no endless waits on hold.
  3. unless you are stopping in Cuba (not an issue currently), Martinique, or Colombia
  4. Google “WHTI” and you will see your grandchildren do NOT need a passport for your itinerary.
  5. when you check in just have your credit card attached to your sea pass, easily done. I would give up on wiring money
  6. I am assuming there will be an Allure TA to Galveston next year
  7. I had the unfortunate experience of missing the ship a couple of years ago due to an airline mechanical issue, we were never able to get out of Dallas Fort Worth in time. I was made 100% whole by my travel insurance
  8. usually around 45 days prior to embarkation, give or take
  9. Not all travel insurance is created equal, that’s for sure.
  10. I have an annual policy with Trawick International for “travel” issues and I have a separate Geo Blue annual policy strictly for medical. This has been a great combo for me for years.
  11. Well, like I said, the letter was way too long and I didn’t read it. My annual policy covers mechanical breakdown.
  12. TLDR as I am sure the corporate office also didn't two words TRAVEL INSURANCE
  13. Really?? Someone with a vested interest in extracting money from you would give misleading testimony??? Shocking, I say
  14. As long as only 4% of Americans identify as vegetarians and 1% as vegan; don’t look for much of a change.
  15. Or a shot of Baileys for tomorrow mornings coffee!!!
  16. I don’t believe for a moment the Stateroom attendant is informed about my gratuity status; it really doesn’t matter because I inform them on day 1. When they know they are working for extra $$ in their pocket and not a small cut from a large pool, they appreciate it. I have had many attendants tell me they MUCH prefer the old way of cash gratuity.
  17. I have never had any issues with the wash and fold laundry bag either, just nothing delicate as stated above. If you are staying in an Owners Suite, you should be able to go to the concierge and have them check you in for your flights and print boarding passes to avoid purchasing a day of internet.
  18. Really Consistently Inconsistent I have had the exact same experiences on multiple ships.
  19. It may be too early for the full excursion offering to be loaded and available to book
  20. It helps them internally justify their blind devotion to the auto gratuity scam
