  1. Irrespective of the fact a public zoom business meeting is potentially disturbing to others, it's hardly good practise to conduct business in public.
  2. As did we and the latter was heaving and apparently so was the former but one large crowd was enough. First CWC 'do' for many years and it will be many years before the next one for us.
  3. not sure she will sell all we collected from Cunard! 😁 I wouldn't dream of selling any of our Cunard mementoes. I will eventually give them away, and have already done so with a few pieces but mementoes are very personal it depends on the proposed recipient's interest as to whether they would like to receive them. Apart from two model ships of QV, pre and post stern mauling, and teddy bears, oh and the Diamond loyalty pins I have none of the bumf acquired on our Cunard cruises, but I do have some of my parents collection. As my son has been motion sickness ill on all the ships he's cruised on with us, from the age of four to first year at college, he hasn't the slightest interest in Cunard or any vehicle involving sea travel! I shall have to find a suitable recipient who will value them and not take them to a charity shop.
  4. Not quite the same in our experience pre Covid, on a world cruise. One booking reference but three segments meant we got three lots of internet allowances.
  5. Hmm. I have beautiful Cunard 90s world cruises memorabilia from my parents, really beautiful glassware, porcelain plates, 'carved' Chinese scenes enclosed in glass with the World Cruise dinner menu printed on the glass... I call those collector items. I think I'll be dead and underground before my copy of the magazine becomes anything near a collectors item. For fun, I've just looked at ebay. I don't think I'll be dining out on the proceeds of selling my Diamond pin, especially as it's strung up as a Christmas tree decoration. 🙂
  6. Think it's look down but hopefully, the screen will be obscured. Onboard ship. do outdoor screen watchers have ear phones or is it the unfortunate case where the sound is broadcast onto the deck and thus surrounding areas?
  7. Ooops Sorry for this majortom10 techteach,I got called out by some for expressing similar thoughts earlier on in the year. Our copy arrived yesterday, my opinions haven't changed and I'm sorry my poor attempts at ironic humour failed miserably. 🙁
  8. Major Tom. Wash your mouth out!!!! ps Ten mins? That long? 😀
  9. Maybe an included session at Specsavers with every [newbie?] booking so passengers are enabled to see[read] the small and not so small print on the website.🥴
  10. Complicated, but we opt to pay on a daily basis using up one lot of CWC Diamond credits then going over to the other CWC allowance and thus utilising both our CWC Diamond internet benefits which means on a 14 day cruise, we owe Cunard peanuts for the internet access. edit booked onboard the day after embarkation as phone is usually still within shoreside signal.
  11. Probably a belt and braces email so no one who has already booked, can say 'they didn't know about this'! After reading posts on this board over the years from folk who hadn't read the small print, I can't say I blame Cunard. putting the small print into 'in your face' large.
  12. Added precautions complete absence of outside lights and all cabin curtains tightly draw; noise emitting thingys on the back of the ship and very capable chaps looking very capable around on deck three.
  13. Pirate Practise for us involved sitting in the corridor away from the cabin door [cabin door being susceptible to any passing missile, the walls being stronger so obviously able to withstand said missile], exchanging pleasantries with neighbours, all carried out with G&T in hand. Very convivial. 👍
  14. This is in the 'onboard needs' web page. If 'you' have no reason to fill in anything pertaining to this and you do not require any assistance at all, then nothing in the web pages will apply to 'you'.
  15. This is a form for assisted boarding and is completely separate from any other boarding priorities. edit My last line might have given a clue to fast tracking and assistance.
  16. So much more peaceful in PG for a cup of tea of an afternoon than trying to get a seat in the lounge as of years ago. Works for us too.
  17. It does work. I for one am very glad of this. We were told in the summer, 'changes' were in the pipeline and now we have them. Now no one can say they didn't know of the need to inform Cunard of even a relatively minor problem, such as requiring a walking stick for extra stability. What is interesting is this. All guests must arrive at the time indicated on the boarding pass as this will ensure you board as quickly as possible. There is no priority or fast-track facility. That will stymie a few who have used assistance to gain early access to the ship.
  18. I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing as I did get the impression you were close. QM2 doesn't figure in any of our future plans, but enjoy her whilst you can. You never know what's around the corner. 🙂
  19. Speaking from experience, many cancellations can be of a personal nature and are not covered by travel insurance. In our case, as we have very specific cabins in mind, we book as soon as itineraries are released and keep our fingers crossed but are prepared to take the hit [we should have just disembarked QV's Northern Lights trip but cancelled due to a family event] if we have to cancel so I can appreciate newbie202020's 'dilemma',
  20. The term 'Cunarder' with regards to people has for me, unfortunate connotations to do with inflexibility or at the very least, disdain for the evolving nature of Cunard, moving forward. As a Cunard regular, with five cruises booked going forward to '25 and will be booking until our travel insurance 'runs out', I consider myself very loyal to the brand but not, a Cunarder. 🙂
  21. QV definitely had divers one time years ago when we were in Stavanger.
  22. Certainty the return flight can be an endurance test when some of the passengers have a gippy tummy or Ramesses Revenge!
  23. Must be/have been a QM2 thing as we have never had the assistance of a Bell Boy, shore side.
  24. On embarking the ship, our Butler meets us and escorts us to our cabin. That might change the next time we embark but we'll have to wait and see if QA has the same Butler meet and greet.
