  1. Just remember that a hold is not a charge. It's a reserve against your available credit. It does reduce your available credit on the card, but it does not charge you. Charges post at the end of the voyage. On longer sailings, they may do periodic charges throughout the cruise, if you have spent your hold amount.
  2. By around 4 AM Eastern, the phones were functioning normally.
  3. I just tried calling now. The "thank you for calling... Your call may be recorded" is on infinite loop. Are the website people in charge of the phones now? 🙃
  4. They cut over to a new phone system on Wednesday, 12/6. I tried calling Thursday morning (East coast time) and got "The number you are calling cannot be dialed..." It eventually cleared up.
  5. I think it's cool that we all have the same booking. But what's really cool is that we're all going to Alaska in 30 days. Early January will be cooler than cool. It'll be freezing!
  6. As the person who does the grocery shopping, booze shopping and fills up the gas tank, I'd be inclined to look at inflation as a culprit.
  7. I hate to throw water on this, but you could have chosen once a day or nonce in a Neptune Suite in the mid 2000s. Just because a lot of cruise lines are doing X does not mean that it applies everywhere.
  8. I wonder if the breakfast specials are MDR only, or if you can get them in the Club Orange dining room?
  9. Daily Breakfast Specials?? I did not even know there was such a thing. I can barely contain my excitement! (In case I did not mention it, I am easily amused.)
  10. If it is, I believe the Mariner Society can help with the duplicate numbers. However, your PCC or TA might have to to put the "correct you" on the booking by swapping out the Mariner ID. You'll want to keep whichever Mariner # has your sailing history.
  11. Other than NA beer I don't think there is any other option. I've seen NA wines (fancy grape juice,) but have not seen them on board
  12. The shareholders OBC has different terns and conditions from the community appreciation programs. In addition, the military service OBC is a "once and done" verification while the other offers require annual re-verification. If you think about it, this makes sense. AARP membership is around $9 a year when they run a special. You could be an AARP member this year and not renew next year. Once you are a veteran, you stay one. (If you want to be super picky, I suppose being active duty, getting verified, and then being dishonorably discharged could pose a problem.)
  13. The prepaid Internet pricing is for premium only. It's also not linearly priced. It's more of a step function.
  14. We've done this. We live close to the port. My wife went for a manicure. I went home to do some work. We could board any time after boarding of new guests started. That was after the ship was zeroed out and closer to 11:30 AM.
  15. Wouldn't all the VHs cost the same? The upgrade cost looks like $199 pp double occupancy x 2. That would not be too bad to move to a fully unobstructed (VE or better.)
  16. Thanks for the trying the drink. We found that certain drinks were better in certain venues as well.
  17. When you log in to the the website, take note of your Mariner #. Then, when you log in with the booking number, check to see if the Mariner # matches.
  18. Our March / April has some unavailable Tamarind and a full slate of Rudi's. To me, the PR pix of Morimoto standalone on the Nieuw Amsterdam looked more like it was where the sushi was.
  19. There was an article in one of the AV magazines a while back. Modern movie soundtracks don't lend themselves to large, open venues. The sound gets all muddled. Apparently old movies and sports work best.
  20. Correct. Sel de Mer has never been part of the HIA restaurant choices. Given the high take rate on Have It All, I'd expect relatively few people in Rudi's. It's always been a "paid" choice. Color me sceptical that Rudi's is going away.
  21. If your phone supports calling over WiFi, you should be able to both call and text. T-Mobile supports it on most recent phones.
  22. I would try the front desk first If you are in a Neptune suite, I'd try the concierge first. There's a fair chance someone wait listed a cabana.
  23. If you send your shoes out to be polished at night, they'll be back in plenty of time.
