  1. then just don't put anything on your account if you don't plan on any expenses
  2. Is there a reason you won't switch passenger #3 to passenger #1 on the reservation? Or just make the reservation so that the two interested in dining are 1 and 2
  3. not sure why I'm quoted on this. it has nothing to do with me or my post
  4. yes, it would be great to see the admin fee go. I'm about to check out MSC, who not only don't have an admin fee but also don't even charge taxes and port fees. My free cruise with MSC will be about $500 cheaper than my free cruises with NCL
  5. know that the app is free. You only pay the $10 if you want them to be able to send messages. If you just want them to see the dailies, there is no cost.
  6. They are both used as a deposit for a future cruise. At the end of the day, you'd get the same benefit with both. I just wanted to point out that your TA is wrong about not being able to request a lower price. You absolutely can request the lower price.
  7. it's unlimited in the sense that you can have as many drinks as you want.
  8. no, this is not true. If it gets returned to your account, it will be for the full amount including the extra. In other words, if it's a $500 CF (that you paid $250 for), you get the full $500 cert back to your account.
  9. This is why I advise people to just not even think about the OBC given. It's monopoly money and makes no difference to your bill as long as it's things you're buying anyway. the problem is when folks think they have OBC to spend, so they go out and buy something they otherwise wouldn't because they think they are leaving OBC behind.
  10. looks like the FAQs has been updated and no longer has H2O has a valid smoking location on the joy https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/smoking
  11. it's best to just ignore the OBC. You get charged $250 for a cruise next. They then "give" you $125 in OBC which makes the net cost of the cruise next $125. So the OBC just goes against the cert. The game they are playing is making you think you have OBC to spend and you go buy things thinking that.
  12. cruise next are pay $125 for $250, and this only if you buy 2 or more. If you just buy one, it's pay $150 for $250. the cruise first $250/$500 are not always offered. the default amount is pay $150 for $300. they do offer the $250/$500 pretty often though
  13. Cruise critic should consider banning macro files. Not saying that the file above is not legit, but I cringe seeing it.
  14. Why the assumption the bookings are linked? Is this something MSC does? Thanks
  15. thanks. great document.
  16. I haven't taken my first MSC cruise yet, but I'm pretty sure I've read that you can only get 1 drink at a time. good luck on the responses you get. this is a very divisive topic on some of the other boards here on CC
  17. you described the easy drink package, but the OP was asking about the non alcoholic package. do you know the details of that package?
  18. well, it looks like I don't have to worry about this as casino bookings are not allowed to take advantage of the current offers. at least that is what I was told by an agent today. I'll probably call back and ask another agent just to see if I get the same answer
  19. Hello. I was just wondering if there is a place that the cigar smokers, particularly on the seascape, generally hang out and smoke. I'm used to other lines have a cigar lounge which is a great place to hang out, smoke, drink, and meet great people and have great conversations. just wondering if there is the same comradeship without a dedicated lounge. thanks
  20. you know, it funny. After I posted my question, I did actually found some menus and was able to see the difference. I'd mostly upgrade for the Macallan, but MSC charges $16 per shot (I'm used to the $50 price tag on NCL). so you're right, it's not cut and dry. the price for all the premium drinks are actually reasonable.
  21. Same here. I've never had a problem with the fridge keeping stuff nice and cold. I guess I've been lucky. I have seen others say the opposite.
  22. Hello. I'm just about ready to book my first MSC cruise. I saw that they had free balcony upgrades until next week so I was going to book to potentially take advantage of that. Now I see that they are also offering the free drinks, wifi, and OBC. so I now have to decide which promo I'd rather take. the question I have is if any has upgraded their drink package once onboard? I want to see what it would cost to take the easy plus package offered with the promo, then upgrade it to the premium package. And I'd rather do it onboard to use OBC to pay for it.
  23. yes, this term in the T&C has always been confusing. Not sure what it's supposed to mean, but I can tell you that I've traveled solo three times since I became a shareholder, and I've received the total amount each time. Now, it could be that I travel on casino comps, so maybe technically the casino is paying 200% for me (since it is a comp for two).
