  1. It's not that simple. A Princess loyalist is currently dealing with a flight cancellation 44 days before sailing. It ends up that the Princess EZ-Air program (there's nothing easy about them) will only re-book her with the same airline, with no regard to lengthy lay-overs, or late arrival times. The only advantage with booking via EZ-Air is the discounted business class seats on international flights. I rarely saw any deals in their domestic coach offerings. Most of the time I checked, I could get a better rate on my own.
  2. At this point, I don't see it happening. They don't have the numbers to generate a big enough discount from the airlines to cover the labor cost involved. Their phone reps seem to be having enough trouble dealing with cruise bookings. I don't want them anywhere near my airline bookings.
  3. Virgin doesn't have the buying power that Carnival has. I can't even begin to imagine how many seats they must book every single day for both crew and passengers for Carnival, HAL, Princess, Cunard, etc... Who knows what the future will bring, but I've never minded booking flights and hotel stays. In fact, I like the challenge of finding the best deals.
  4. Many of us have felt this way at times, but thankfully, the on-board experience has more than made up for the frustration stemming from land-based support. It's been getting better, and then sometimes, there's a giant leap backwards, but keep the faith, it's worth it in the end. The crew is phenomenal.
  5. VV also pays agents commission on pre-cruise expenditures.....bar tabs, excursions. I don't believe any other line does this. Maybe a TA can chime in and confirm what my TA told me.
  6. Glad they fixed things, but in the future, save yourself from the stress and let your TA earn his/her money. Virgin pays the highest commissions in the biz, make them earn it.
  7. All ships use the "Virgin Voyages"' app. You can download it here: https://www.virginvoyages.com/app
  8. We were on the last sailing of her contract, and we both felt that she didn't seem the least bit concerned about showing up late to her own events. She was clearly ready to go home.
  9. He's great! We met him on our first Virgin Voyage, a b2b on the Scarlet last October. He recently started a Youtube channel. Here's his latest video: https://youtu.be/aj8UL3olkVk
  10. In our neck of the woods, that's called fecal soup
  11. I too prefer to eat and drink without the smell of chlorine nearby. The dock is a great place just as it is. In just 3 sailings, I've seen two couples get engaged back there.
  12. They may have not had enough crew to open up the outside grill while you were on board.
  13. Last October on the Scarlet they were using one of them to prepare the food served outside, and the other was used to display and serve specialty cocktails for an event. I've seen small, short private events hosted there as well. A DJ used one once.
  14. The Miss Behave Show is the funniest thing I've seen in decades. Nothing can prepare you for it. Enjoy!
  15. You will be charged a fee if you don't have any loot, and want to charge your slot play or chips to your on board account.
  16. We'll be staying there for 3 days before our cruise in late October. The hotel and neighborhood came highly recommended by our friends who stay there whenever they are in Barcelona.
  17. I don't think that you'll get anything comparable to the speeds we get in the Caribbean. Last year I don't think they even offered premium wifi on the med sailings.
  18. Miss Shirley Lorraine Davis and the 45s. Here's some vids from her IG https://www.instagram.com/p/CsRJSPUKf-3/?hl=en
  19. It's so good, I had to locate some Aleppo Pepper flakes so I could make it at home. Quick and easy to make!
  20. As an ex-smoker, I was curious to check it out. You couldn't smell a thing outside of the room. The secret is they use two doors separated by a short hallway.
  21. Buy the $300 deposits on board, and book with your travel agent when you return. You will need 1 deposit for each cabin. Have one in your name, and another in your husbands if you plan on two cabins. As for the blue credit thingy on the webpage, we all have one, and it only shows a figure other than zero if you have a credit with them. Don't worry about it.
  22. Whoops...I now see that you and the hotel are "on the same page" Fingers crossed it all works out. Safe travels!
  23. Make sure you speak with the hotel again, as if you don't check-in on your original date, the system may cancel your booking.....thaty's probably why they wanted you to cancel/rebook. Let them know you don't mind paying for the original 1st night, if that's the case.
  24. The smoking room in the casino is so well designed, most non-smokers don't even know it exists. When we popped in to take a peek last October, there were a small number of slots and video poker. I didn't see anything that said you need to be actively playing while smoking, but I could be wrong.
