I really don’t get the idea that changes never happen. For years many restaurants gave you free refills on sodas then one day it stopped. Did that make people irate ? Airlines are continually changing loyalty programs why is cruising different. Things aren’t the way they were when I was 20 in lots of ways and I don’t expect the world to be any different
Yes there are some extra channels for special sporting events but you have to click on them sometimes to see what is on. We will be on the Grand during the summer Olympics and expect there will be several in use
It all depends on what you are going to use. On the Island there will not be a lot of casual dining options. If you drink a lot of upscale wines or like to have a lot of pictures taken then you may want to consider it. For us it does not work but the plus does since most of the drinks we like are included in the plus package. We may eat a casual meal or 2 but only if we don’t care for that nights menu. We sail in suites so one specialty dinner is included. also after 50 plus cruises we do not need any more pictures at all The price difference of $20 per day per person is what it has been for quite awhile
On the Crown last month we got a lot of help from the Loyalty officers. Not the ones pitching future cruises but the one with the desk outside Wheelhouse
It is a meal with very good food but huge amounts of food. If want to eat an entire bowl of soup and then an entire bowl of risotto followed by steak and lobster plus dessert this is for you. Too much food for me
Reserve class dining is only in one dining room and on all grand class and Royal class ships I have been on it is always in the midship deck 6 dining room
In some ways it is easier to get a table in the aft dining room since it is larger, no carve out for reserve class folks and less people wanting to go down the stairs or aft elevators
In Seattle a few months ago I just waved my passport up in the air and they waved me through customs. I am willing to bet it could have been anyone’s passport. No one actually looked at it and I was at least 5 feet away from the officer
I am only seeing this so called news from one blogger. I am branding it as rumor. If it was real I would think someone like Don Teris who travels Princess a lot would have said something
Not closed but whenever we port in Victoria only one bar per deck is allowed to be open. On Alaskan cruises where that is your last port and you are there late it makes for some very crowded venues
