  1. @Host Jazzbeau and @Grandma Cruising will remember the Costa Rica intensive in Jan 2018. Over 100 of us in the cabaret lounge! What a great meet up. Some fantastic tours arranged amongst us and Capt Carls last cruise on Quest before he moved to Pursuit. Ive never had a name badge since 2014.
  2. The relevance of any review is only valid for the moment it was written/experienced. A six month old review whilst relevant at the time is in my opinion not indicative of recent months. There will be equal instances of exceptional service (our experience) and sadly we some not so.
  3. There are several UK online sites that can show you the cabins that are available. A quick search will do.
  4. Concur with everything you say Phil. Tatiana is one special lady and of course Darren is turning out to be a phenomenal asset. Captain Johannes certainly leads a great team with the most amazing depth of professionals in all areas. Not to mention the people who you meet up with onboard, 😂😂

    OBC Issues

Just disembarked Quest. Our OBC wasn’t showing on our TV account . Went to customer services and emailed a copy of my booking confirmation to them whilst I stood there and next day it was on the account. It’s not a problem to get sorted onboard, so just have your confirmation with you.
  6. Perfectly fine to stay onboard. We have chosen carefully those evenings that we attend and to date we’ve done only 7 out of 16. 2 of these were actually the evenings onboard last year, The Duo Violinists in Greece , who in our view were superb. We’ve enjoyed our meal venues on the quieter ship and we’ve met some great people with a chance to chat a little more and also with the excellent staff.

    New website.

You now have to click on the sail date that you are going on or are interested in. Working fine for me on random dates .
  8. Email just received for viewing available excursions through to Dec 2023. Click on the ‘Shore Excursion List. Its a great improvement. Booking them is another matter! Dear Azamara Guest, As promised in our last letter, we wanted to share with you the latest updates happening at Azamara. We understand the importance of keeping you informed, and that is why we strive to share the most relevant and exciting news. In our ongoing efforts to enhance your booking experience, we are pleased to introduce a new feature: the “Find my Reservation” tool. This “Find my Reservation” tool is designed to make managing your bookings even more convenient by giving you access to your booking details without the need to login or create an account. We believe this will provide you with a seamless and efficient way to navigate directly to your booking and reservation details. This feature also allows you to book add-ons, shore excursions, land programs, pay for ancillary products, and update guest information. Please note that loyalty account information and adding a new credit card requires logging in. Additionally, we have made alternative arrangements to ensure that you have access to the complete list of our shore excursions. You can now view the available excursions specific to your ship and sail date by visiting the following link: Shore Excursions List. This will allow you to explore the excursions that interest you. Our loyalty program is an essential part of our commitment to rewarding our loyal guests and showing our appreciation for the trust you place in Azamara. We are pleased to inform you that we have continued making progress in correcting loyalty points for those that have notified us of the discrepancies through our Account Login Help Form. If you are still experiencing issues or have questions regarding your loyalty status, we kindly ask you to please fill out the Account Login Help Form. Thank you for your continued support and loyalty. We are committed to providing you with exceptional experiences and look forward to welcoming you on board. Best Regards,
  9. @Mrs Miggins Thats interesting. We had a very comprehensive range of port information and maps for every port which was left in our cabin on embarkation day. First time we have had a full sweep of all the ports in one go. This was on Onward in April. The maps were A3 size and of good quality and easily read. (My photo maybe not)! The maps were also at guest relations again on the port day, if you had misplaced them. Often if they keep photocopying the same page the quality does deteriorate over time. Perhaps we were fortunate to be early in the season, but Im sure its easily rectified .
  10. These are the Balcony cabin sockets at the vanity unit plus usb under bedside lights.
  11. There are now 4 reds and 4 white wines available, 1 Rose and 1 Sparkling. The beers sometimes change.
  12. Dubrovnik can be a docked port if its too windy to tender. A shuttle will be provided to the Pile Gate if this is the case. Had this happen twice before. Sorrento is a tender port, there is a lift up to the town level, its just along the walkway from where the tenders arrive. You can buy a return ticket, think it was €2.

    Sun loungers

There are several places to sit outside. We’ve never had an issue, people move on quite quickly. Deck 5 along the promenade is a nice quiet area, semi shaded by the lifeboats immediately above. Deck 11 front of ship, plenty of loungers and you can follow the small amount of shade available or sun whichever direction you are cruising. Deck 9, main pool area. Plenty of loungers, shade or sun. You will find that chair hogging around the pool is not as prevalent as on larger ships, as not everyone wants the pool , but occasionally it does still occur. Not everyone wants to be outside, some like the Living room or the Den or Mosaics during the day.
  14. Are you asking about when you go to the Cabaret lounge on the last morning, we had the 9.15 slot. You take your new cards with you, have your picture taken again , sign for your account. Then hand over your old card to a temporary security desk and then they scan your new one.? We did this last week in Civitavecchia 12-15 minutes max.
  15. Thanks, we had an excellent journey home and British Airways allowed us free wifi to watch the Kings Coronation in the skies ! I am disembarking Chioggia again in July and it will be interesting to see if there is any fine tuning in the arrangements.
  16. Really easy to get a bus from Livorno port to station and a train to Florence, we did it last week. Walk from port across the bridge to the main road Via Grande. Buy your bus ticket in the tobacconist on the right and catch the bus Lam Blu to the train station. Think it was €1.50 each one way. Dont forget to validate your ticket on the bus, its a small machine near the front. Journey is about 8 mins. You can buy train ticket from the ticket desk or the ticket machine. We used the machine, very easy to use. We caught the 9.12 arrived in Florence at 10.33. Dont forget to validate the ticket on the platform. Price was €41.60 for two for a return journey. We chose a specific timed return journey , came back about 16.30 ish. The bus ticket for return to port can be bought in the shop in the station or you can buy two at the start. I’m banging on about validating tickets but from our cruise we spoke to 6 people who got fined. Its easy money for the inspectors when the bus pulls into the station. It does say on the ticket validate but many dont know. Four were fined €42.50 each for not validating, and two were fined for not having bought a ticket for the bus.
  17. Totally agree that Azamara went the extra mile to ensure that there were options for everyone. I’m not sure how it worked it reverse for embarkation, but hopefully someone who did the journey today could let people know.
  18. Information re disembarkation in Chioggia. We disembarked Onward this morning, first time Onward has used Chioggia. We saw no walk up taxis waiting at the port. Only pre booked were arriving. We booked the ships transfer at $29.85 per person using obc. Our flight departure of 12.40 dictated the coach time and we were allocated a 7.30 coach departure time. Advised of one hour 30 minute journey, but probably because it’s a Saturday we arrived at the airport at 8.20… 50 minutes, hardly had time for a sleep ! Weekdays may be nearer the one hour 30. A pleasant drive through the countryside. It was seamless transfer , met at the airport car park and we were walked to the building. Check in opens 2 hours 30 mins before flights but for some reason today the lovely lady opened the desk at 9.15 so here we are in the lounge chilling ! Attached is the information received in cabin with choices of transfers and all the departure times. There are some restrictions governed by customs if you want to depart earlier than the morning at end of cruise, but it is doable and allowed. All in all a great b2b. Its hard to convey to those stressing at home but everything really did fall into place once on board. The luggage tags are a non issue, all dealt with at embarkation. Our obc turned up, as did our pre booked tour tickets. Our loyalty level was correct, we booked speciality restaurants with ease, even one on the day, mid cruise. We had one tour cancelled due to impending chaos in Naples if Napoli had won the football league! Money was refunded to our on board account promptly. Personally we heard very little problems on board but no doubt there was some and obviously its stress you can do without. Less familiar faces on board but all new staff are as enthusiastic and helpful as always. A smile and a thankyou works both ways. We enjoyed all food options in Speciality, Discoveries and Windows.
  19. It certainly was a very good cruise. We stayed on for this week also! Did you take the sunshine back in your suitcase 😂.
  20. Hi @Sleep7 A very fair and balanced review of early days on board. We were also onboard and like yourself despite the anguish before arrival , everything was where it should be, billed and listed as we hoped. We had no issues with obc, tours or loyalty levels. Look forward to reliving the ports with you !
  21. Definitely!! we cruised 4 times last year on Azamara and have 3 booked for this year. I certainly would not have booked if I wasn’t happy with how things have panned out since covid. We all have choices. We thought menus were greatly improved and whilst we had a chipped door at the vanity unit ( goodness some people made such a big thing of it ) it certainly didn’t impact on our enjoyment of all the cruises. In our everyday life at home there are shortages of items we like in supermarkets and not enough staff in restaurants but I’m not going to write to head office . We can’t wait to board tomorrow. 🚢
  22. They always were available at the end of the guest ticket booklet, but at present they are not. So we will all pick these up at the embarkation .
  23. Your daily posts and pictures have been wonderful and you've captured so well the onboard experience and making the most of ports. Thankyou
  24. We received ours today from travel agent on departures 22 and 29 Apr. So yours could be imminent.
