    Celebrity definitely depends on inertia on the part of its passengers--particularly the suite passengers.

    Thank you for posting specific information on these three cruises. It is very hard to judge apples/oranges comparisons without screenshots. $4000 more for Celebrity. For me, not worth it.

    After a fabulous dinner last night at Polo, I can only imagine how much better the food was in the days of misty memories.

    My standards are not that high. They try hard. And the performers are young. I always ask—how much would I pay for this show on land? I would pay to see the Royal Broadway shows (except Cats).

    I find the shows to be generally mediocre. They were created in house by Celebrity. Essentially plotless collections of songs. Well performed generally but unmemorable. Others may disagree. The only one I can remember is Topper.

    Very few wearing masks on Regatta this week.

    Since I am comparing the food to Viking, Celebrity and Royal, I am very pleased with the food on Regatta this week. Hopefully it will get back to the even higher pre-Covid standard!

    I like to think it’s passengers who prefer a real balcony. That’s the reason I booked Odessey for two recent transatlantics.

    I saw another thread where a solo said they couldn’t even book a solo cabin on MSC—-the cruise showed as sold out until they added a second person.

    I only cruise solo. I will pay 200 percent but no more. I guess I will need to go the stealth cruiser route if they charge more than 200 percent

    I have seen similar deals on Regent and Crystal.

    The Bay of Biscay had some of the roughest seas I have ever encountered during a westbound TA several years ago. My sailing may have been an anomaly, I don’t know.

    NCL seems to be the only cruise line that actively courts solo cruisers. The other cruise lines only tolerate us—or try to soak us.

    The only reason NOT to have an app is if Oceania decides that having an app means it doesn’t need to provide the paper schedule.

    I left my paper in the room so have no idea what is going on tonight. A small inconvenience but just odd that they don’t have an app when NCl does.

    Marginally more expensive but significantly better. But no special pool for suite passengers if that is a priority.

    I heard this was the lobster to be served on Celebrity.

    Definitely worth it since you get a pool without any riff raff from steerage.

    On Oceania, you can get lobster and steak for lunch.

    I am Regatta on the way to Alaska. Smaller than Riviera which I sailed on last years. Food is fabulous. I also love the ice cream. I guess Junior Suites on Celebrity are wonderful but I can’t justify the price even if they have an exclusive pool area.

    Cruise lines count on the fear many people have of an alternative being worse. And they reinforce that fear with the supposed perks from loyalty. I am on Oceania right now and loving it.
