  1. I cruise in the summer/early fall but the Caribbean can be HOT and MUGGY. Much better from November to April.
  2. Crew was great. Gym was very small--a design flaw for sure. Ship is beautiful.
  3. When I ate at Ember in January, it was the loudest restaurant I can ever recall. I thought the food was ok but I couldn't talk to the person seated next to me.
  4. I am not a fan either. This ship should be a test. On Celebrity, almost all of the verandas are infinite (except for suites and sunset verandas). On Icon class, you can choose.
  5. Thanks for sharing this information I guess I am wrong that people prefer real verandas.
  6. What is the price difference between a sun room and a real balcony on Icon?
  7. As a non drinker, Regent doesn’t make any sense for me given the large price difference. I love Oceania and am trying the new Crystal this December.
  8. So true. The lunch pizza in Terrace is mediocre. Waves pizza was very good. I liked the food in Ember but found it too be so loud that our party could not talk across a table.
  9. Next next cruise is scheduled for February 2025. Prices are getting too high. Product is good but I found much of the food to be mediocre--especially the beef dishes. Tastes vary.
  10. When you say "discontinued" does that mean that new people don't qualify, or that existing sailors lose their Deep Blue Extras?
  11. Yes. As a non-drinker I can't justify paying thousands more for top brands of alcohol I won't drink. I will stick with Oceania--and I am trying the new Crystal.
  12. I moved on to Oceania and Crystal. I still have a Celebrity cruise booked but I won't book any more if they charge me for three.
  13. I wonder if O will allow broader use of this credit as they get more and more complaints.
  14. It all depends on how much sun you want. I always pick a north facing cabin because I don't like to sit in the sun.
  15. I got it as a perk through my travel agent and from the deep blue benefits. I would never have bought more than $150 (to use for kombucha and lattes).
  16. I do agree that not having a main dining room is a problem. And since I don't drink alcohol, I left a $450 bar tab last month. The bathroom in the regular sea terrace was very small.
  17. Captain Kate McCue (@captainkatemccue) • Instagram photos and videos She has 862,000 Instagram followers. I enjoy being on one of her ships. She is very charismatic and accessible. Would I pay extra to sail with her? No.
  18. Plenty of Celebrity cruisers will pay a high premium to sail on a ship captained by Captain Kate.
  19. Yes. Pricing is two to three times higher than the same 7-day itinerary on Symphony of the Seas. No thank you.
  20. I am waiting for the Icon prices to come down. It sounds like a great ship but is currently much too expensive.
  21. I ordered the fried chicken last month and was disappointed. Based on the comments I had read, I had very high expectations for the food on VV and was somewhat disappointed. I did like the abundance of fresh fruit in the Galley.
  22. One of my biggest problems with VV is the lack of a main dining room. I don't mind going to the Galley for breakfast or lunch, but I like to have a nice sit down meal for dinner. If you eliminate Test Kitchen and you find that Extra Virgin is very difficult to get into (I wasn't able to get a reservation on a seven day cruise), your sit down dinner options are limited. I am not a fan of Gunbae or Razzle Dazzle either.
  23. I think it is more likely that some solos booked without realizing that they were charged for more than two in a cabin. Unless you are on the boards or have a good TA, the only way to know is to book as a solo and compare with what you would pay if you were booking for two. Some solos might just think that the prices had increased that much for everyone.
