  1. Pre-book as soon as you're able and you should have no trouble getting a time that suits you. I think the poster you referenced was booking while on-board.
  2. Once you get much closer to your cruise, the JourneyView Activities Timeline will show which portraits will be taken on each night, so the nights listing formal portraits will be formal night.
  3. If by often, you mean all the darned time, then for some posters, the answer is absolutely yes! Knock on wood, fingers crossed, I've never had any issues at all. I hope I didn't just jinx myself!
  4. I *think* you'll have to do each night individually, but go to that nights reservation, tap edit, which I believe you've done. You got this screen: You don't have to add a guest, just tap the Continue button at the bottom and it presents you with the available dining rooms and times. Make the change, then tap Save, or whatever it says. I didn't want to change mine and risk goofing anything up! Hope this helps!
  5. I would love it if a TA would offer input regarding if it's known what the source of the gift cards is when offered to them for payment. Or if a poster has in front of them printed out gift cards from both AARP and Princess.com, that could offer a side-by-side comparision.
  6. How would they even know it was an AARP GC rather than one purchased directly from Princess? My printouts don't show any branding other than Princess...no AARP logo anywhere.
  7. I always bring a big soft fluffy pair of socks to wear in the cabin, instead of slippers. Sometimes DH has the cabin a bit cold and it's easy to slide the socks on to warm my feet up. I also bring a highlighter to use on my Patter.
  8. There's never a physical card, just the emailed link to the printable card. That's all that's needed by GS to apply that amount to your account.
  9. I'm really enjoying your review. We're booked on the Regal's last BI cruise of the season and bringing her back to Florida in October. I'm taking notes! Thanks for so many nice details.
  10. I'm curious too. We'll be on the same cruise!
  11. I meant it was a genuine concern to the grandmother, and how she feels like handling this situation with her young granddaughter. It could be something simpler like buying candy in the gift shop when she shouldn't be eating extra sugar. So, yes. Really.
  12. Have you contacted Princess to ask about this issue? You make some valid points, and it's a genuine concern.
  13. Certainly an option. I was just offering a suggestion to the grandmother in case other suggestions didn't suit her. Plus, I'm curious if it's even possible.
  14. I wonder if you'd be able to go to guest services once on board and have charging privileges turned off of just her device? That seems like it would be pretty simple to do...which means it's probably impossible. Never mind! 😁
  15. First thing I do is compare the price of booking as one cruise vs two cruises. Then I see how many FCC/FCDs I have and what their benefits would be on one vs two. I also figure out my shareholder benefit amounts. Then I check if a cabin I want is available on the B2B or if it's only available on the single booking. More often than not I book it as a B2B.
  16. Read upthread for recommendations on how to use the Princess web version, including screen shots how to access it.
  17. If you read upthread, you'll see discussion that the gift cards aren't supposed to be used for EZair, but that some folks have done it successfully. I had my TA add my EZair tickets to my cruise booking, and I'm hoping I'll be able to have them pay the entire balance due with my GCs.
  18. There is no early or late seating. Dinner times are every 20 minutes throughout the evening, for example 6pm, 6:20, 6:40, 7pm, etc.
  19. Absolutely! We've been fortunate to have always been assigned to a table with folks roughly the same demographics as us, and have always thoroughly enjoyed our dining companions and experience. We've also wittnessed neighboring tables that we would have asked to be moved from after the first evening. I think Princess would do well having one dining room assigned as traditional dining, leaving the other two as the current DMW.
  20. As I understand it from many posts, and for me as well, it isn't necessarily the difficulty actually making the reservations due to the quirky app, it's the lack of a shared table with the same "strangers" every night, same table, same time. Sure, currently you can request a shared table, but it will likely be shared with different people every night. You *might* get lucky the first night with a shared table where everybody clicks *and* wants to commit to requesting the same arrangement from then on out, but that seems pretty unlikely.
  21. There's no need to apply them at guest services right away, but I personally wouldn't wait too many days. If you're an early riser or up late in the evening, that's when the lines tend to be shorter. When I presented mine, they asked that I leave it with them so they could do it at their leisure.
  22. Fancy is my middle name! Actually, I forgot to include a string of laughing emojis after my post! 🤣😊😁😉
  23. So it looks like if a reservation is changed by either the guest or by Princess that an email goes out, one per reservation. Seems like they could consolidate all that info into one email.
  24. This is the first time I've ever heard of emails being sent confirming dining times. I've booked dining and changed dining, but no emails. I wonder if this is something new...or maybe I failed to get emails that I was supposed to?
  25. My father had terrible vision issues with lights and glare, and wore a visor anywhere and everywhere. For him it was a medical necessity.
