  1. Since the Half Moon drinks are not included in the 15  drinks many Cheers folks should like that since many complain that they aren't allowed to buy extra drinks. Of course, if Carnival and Holland American wanted to find a way to use the drink package there, they would but the current system is a means of generating more revenue.

So they must not take your sail and sign card for payment. I’m guessing you have to pay cash.  Otherwise if they take your sign and sail there’s no reason cheer’s shouldn’t apply.  It’s on your card

The Sign and Sail card is not used electronically so they had no way of keeping track of the amount of drinks. Since the Half Moon drinks are not included in the 15  drinks many Cheers folks should like that since many complain that they aren't allowed to buy extra drinks.

Thanks. Yes, I am aware. Just wanted to compare the base alcoholic drink prices. While I drink coffee, we did Disney in March and Royal last October and I didn't drink any on either ship. I am not a big soda drinker and we will get 4 liters of water (husband and I are gold and it will be our children's second cruise on Carnival) when we first board plus we can get water on lido. So, I don't normally consider the extras simply because I don't normally purchase enough of those for it to make a big difference when considering the cost.

Then just like us, Cheers does not seem cost-effective for you. Enjoy.

My mother and I are currently booked for the Carnival Dream out of Galveston next spring but she is on the verge of cancelling due to mobility concerns. There’s really nothing medically wrong with her, just mostly lost strength and stamina and she doesn’t think she can travel until she feels how she did 10 years ago, our last cruise together was about 5 years ago. She lives alone independently, goes on walks daily, shopping, drives to the grocery store and on errands a few times a week. I think she would be fine on the ship and I will be in her cabin for any luggage concerns or moving anything heavy, unexpected etc.

My question is what can the ship provide either arranged ahead of time or perhaps in the moment if she feels fatigued? Day to day on the ship is probably fine like I said but the travel/embarkation is probably the biggest concern for my mom. What has your experience been? Anything I can tell her to ease fears and prevent the cancellation? How about at the airport, United in particular? I figure a wheelchair can be arranged through the airline. She doesn’t need a wheelchair but to get through the airport or embarkation mitigating fatigue I figure is the solution but I also don’t know so I’m asking for any help, advice, tips, strategies to pass along to save this vacation. My mom basically lives to travel and loves cruising so I’d hate for her to give it up but we don’t have a lot of answers right now.

One solution is to buy or rent a mobility scooter. Dozens of people will have them on the ship. (please make sure her doctor has cleared her and make sure there are no undected medical concerns.)

Would like confirmation that it is ok to order both a non-alcoholic drink and alcoholic drink at the same time or is this frowned upon? Not trying to take advantage, just want to make the best cost effective decision and not pay every time...yes I realize it is technically sharing a package, but would like to know if it is out of the question to 'share' the package as one of us drinks alcohol, the other doesn't. Edit: Just read both must sign up for program?

I can only confirm what I observed on more than one cruise. I notice many people with Cheers would order an alcoholic drink with a sports drink, a soda, or water on more than one occasion. Some rather openly shared the drinks with others.

Unfortunately, that's not an option for anyone under 21 😞 Between coffee, bottled water, and mocktails my teen costs me more than a cheers package since shes not a big soda drinker 🤦‍♀️

Oh wow, I didn't know about this!  The last couple of cruises we purchased Cheers but we aren't doing that for an upcoming 4 day, so we will definitely buy 6 over that time period!  Great info; thank you!

Many people with Cheers get non-alcoholic drinks for their kids.

you really believe a porter has time to open and search your bags??

It is not normal but yes thieves are smart and quick. They can unzip it a few inches and reach in to quickly find something that may be of value. thankfully, 99.9% of them are trustworthy.

Hello everyone.  Just returned from a fun sail on the Valor to Cozumel and Progreso.  Loved the cruise but I was surprised that there were no loyalty gifts.  Last cruise, at the same level of Gold, we received a free drink on the last night and a bottle of water at the beginning of the trip.  Did that fall by the wayside??  Certainly won't make or break the trip, just wondering.  I wish this site was available on the Social plan.  Thanks all!

You have to ask for them. Water any time, drink on the last evening. Plus there is a loyalty pin at the photo desk.

  9. I hate to say this but baggage handlers are untrustworthily. The porters taking the bags from the car can quickly open them without being notice search for anything of value. Secondly, those doing the x-ray can notice something of potential value and open it themselves or pass that information on to a crew member who can quickly reach in and take it. Most places have cameras watching them but remember crooks have the time and patience to wait for the best time.

I have noticed my luggage have been opened several times since I do put a few things in there that may flag security such as a small mag light that can look like a gun barrel on an x-ray buy I expect this. If someone want to rifle through my skivves  just hope they are wearing gloves.

Hi!  It's been a little while since I cruised and I was told that there is now a limit on what you can order while eating in the dining room?  I was told you can only order 1 appetizer, 1 entre & 1 dessert.  Can anyone tell me if that is true?  Leaving on the Carnival Sunrise tomorrow.  Happy to be back cruising again. Thanks

On our last cruise in June, there was no limit on appetizers or desserts but there was a charge of $5.00 if you order a third entree.

  11. We sailed on the Breeze in a spa cabin and we were given a $50 gift card for spa services and a 10% off acupuncture but recently on the Glory in a regular cabin got the same offers.

Overall we enjoyed the spa cabin but we bought it at the high of the pandemic real cheap.

Does anyone know the address I would use to mail something to an employee on the Celebration? I googled it and found other ships but can't find the address for the Celebration......

Years ago I was told this is the address for all Carnival correspondences:

    3655 NW 87th Ave

    Miami, Florida, 33178
