You can go on line and order it from Scootaround. They will have it waiting for you when you arrive. If you cruise often, I would recommend buying your own. Time you pay for two or three rentals you could buy your own. That’s what we did.

We did the same. We bought an inexpensive scooter that breaks down for easy transport in the trunk of a car. I was surprise it fit in a standard cabin without having to break it down.

  2. It is math- for the booze. We few people would realistically spend $60 (or $120 a day for a couple) on non-alcoholic drinks. But you do not have to get the 15 drinks to justify the purchase. Even at three drinks, some might find Cheers worth the price. Consider the average price of a drink is $12, then add two coffees at $4, a couple of bottles of water and cans of soda at $3 each, and a shake or frozen drink at $7 then you would be at the $60 break-even point.

Additionally, there is a lot of sharing on Cheers. I observed this (and benefited) firsthand on my recent cruise.

Are there really any formal nights now?  I thought they had been replaced with elegant evenings, where guests are encouraged to dress up but won’t be denied seating in the dining room if they show up in shorts or jeans.

On our three cruises in the last 14 months, we have discovered the dress code is a suggestion rather than a requirement.

  4. It is not totally reliable often a person can log off but if you set up some guidelines about how often to check in etc you might make it work. but to be honest, when our child was a preteen we did not let her get too far out of sight so walkie-talkies worked well. Our child is now 16 and on our most recent cruise, we used Snapchat to communicate fairly efficiently. Only one of us at the time had paid wifi but notifications would go through. we could send her a notification and she would know to check the Hub app.

What state is she from?  Are you sure it is an enhanced license, not  RealID license?  Does she know the difference?  EM

Does the type of driver's license matter if the person has a birth certificate?

  6. I have learned that many people do not listen to the directions and many just decided to leave when they are ready. For example on our recent cruise, when had FTTF that had special debarkation procedures. We were told to meet in the midship dining room at 8:20 but by 8:00 the hallways were jammed with folks trying to carry their monster suitcases of the ship. We could not even get off the elevator.

Thank you all so much for your helpful suggestions! After a couple of calls to Carnival an available state room was found and booked 😃

I agree that both the online agent and ourselves were at fault.  I was under so much stress at the time of the booking my DH set it all up to take something off my plate.  Somehow his old Hotmail email was used for one of the cabins, maybe from when we booked directly with Carnival 15 years ago?  For our cruises the past 15 years we worked with a dear friend and travel agent, but she is no longer in the business. We were frustrated that the online agent did not use the correct phone number to alert us of the balance due.  It was on us for not putting the payment deadlines on our calendar and not noticing that the payment was half of what was expected.  Lesson definitely learned! We'll work directly with the cruise company or a TA that we can speak to for future cruises.

    Good news!

  8. You said that you thought both rooms were paid so it seems you did not actually pay for both rooms. I too would be upset with the travel agent for not picking up the phone and calling before the due date. I suspect that you are out of luck for this cruise. I hope everyone learns a lesson from this. First, research the travel agent and make sure they have procedures in effect to prevent problems like this. Second, always know the due date and make sure you are handling the payments. I know in the past when I used a travel agent, I could not even call Carnival to ask a question much less have access to my cruise planner so this is why I decided ten years ago to go with a Carnival PVP..Third, set up a default payment that would automatically make the final payment if for whatever reason you fail to make it. Finally, use a reliable email. I have used the same email for my personal business for 25 years although I have at least a dozen other email addresses used for work and various other things.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has done this, but I set my alarm to midnight so I could wake up and check in last night on CCL. now we have along 15 days until we sail on the Glory on our short 7-day cruise. Can't wait!!!!

Mid-night Miami time but in New Orleans on our recent cruise, they did not really check the time.

REAL ID is irrelevant for closed loop cruises, any government issued photo ID is sufficient. (Your comment about flying to the cruise is accurate, though.)

Right, someone is confusing a Real ID with an Enhanced Driver's Licenced.

I am not traveling with a scooter but thank you for that info. Just trying to rent a recliner as I had open heart bypass surgery and still cant full lay flat yet.

I did not know you could rent recliners but you could check the dimensions of the door in the cabin descriptions somewhere on the internet. Another option might be to have one of the ship's recliners in the cabin. Good luck.

  12. I was on the Glory 6/18/23 to 6/25/23. We found that I messages and. Facebook Messenger at times worked. Also, we received notifications from our security cameras and SnapChat without being corrected to the paid Carnival Wifi.

My daughter had the mid-range paid Wifi on her device and found SnapChat text and video calls worked most of the time while we found that Facebook would not work too well in the cabin but worked ok in the ship's interior areas.

My sister who is my cabin mate for this cruise, keeps her Yeti mug filled full all day, every day with ice and any room left is Diet Coke. I don't know which is more important  - the ice or the soda, lol.

We usually get a 2nd bucket and ask for ice 2x day. So I guess we'll be coming to get yours @Purvis1231 🥸

plastic zip bags I think will be a good solution.

Now to research if this is a Coke line or Pepsi, she gets grumpy when it's the blue one. And those are not as easy to pack as zip bags.

You can have my bucket. On our last cruise, I noticed many folks filling ziplock bags with ice and a few with ice buckets so I know they had them on the Glory but we left the Yeti cups and  Coke Zero at home. I was fine to drink the Pepisi Zero and Diet Mt. Dew.

  14. Personally, I would try to get it done before the cruise but doing it on the ship would be easy on the first or two of the cruise. (Seattle may have a rule to forbids the use of the washers while in port so I would try to check for that.) Enjoy, we are sailing the Spirit out of Mobile for Thanksgiving.
