  1. I read all kind of things about the "donkey path", but nothing about actually riding them to the top. Is that doable, or are they cargo haulers only?
  2. It was probably Cape Canaveral Cruise Line. They operated the former Dolphin IV, but that wasn't until '95. I'm not sure if Dolphin Cruise Line went from Port Canaveral in addition to Miami. I have an old brochure, I'll check if I find it. The day cruise was SeaEscape. They basically started the cruise sensation that Port Canaveral has become. I went on the Scandanavian Sea sometime in the early 80s, though this was for, I believe, a one night cruise to Freeport. They did have day cruises though. I still remember that Bertie Higgins of "Key Largo" fame, was the entertainer.
  3. And if arriving AA at DFW, add another 30 minutes because it will take an hour for your luggage to show up even if you can see your plane out the window in front of the baggage belt!!!
  4. I know that you do earn MQM on Delta and I believe also on United on award seats. However, I believe that you do not on American.
  5. I'm looking into Celestyal next year from Athens. It is shorter and more ports in Greece than the mainlines.
  6. Or you could change it to an itinerary of your liking that possibly cost a lot more points or cash when initially booked. This is the case if the times change a fair amount, usually two hours either side or sometimes even with a change in aircraft type
  7. I have used them for numerous tours through the years and for car hires. I have never had an issue with someone not showing up or a bad tour.
  8. Which you can also do now on any of the major US airlines.
  9. DFW had one in the 90s-00s, I believe was the time frame. These were the highest numbered gates in the 2E (now A) terminal, right before the moving sidewalks that connect to what is now C. I believe that there were three or four gates, connected to each other, enclosed with glass walls. I believe the frames for the walls are still there, though they probably got rid of them during the terminal A reno.
  10. A 16-day TA from Barcelona to Houston.
  11. True!!! You got me there. I didn't even think of that.
  12. That is not always possible. E.g. KLM does not allow you to select seats that way, though there may be workarounds after the initial selection, if that is the case.
  13. I had no issues with the layout and it is actually one of my favorite cabin layouts.
  14. On DL, if you have a credit card and Skymiles account, they are linked and you should never need to show your card for free bags. The only way that I can think of is, if you aren't a Skymiles member, then you would need to show the card.
  15. Unlike UA, DL does not require the ticket to be paid for using the card to get the free checked bags.
  16. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have been on the Epic twice and it is one of my favorite ships and the cabins are no issue.
  17. I've had two cruises where this was an option and took it both times. This was on the Norwegian Epic. It also appears to be the most popular of the two as those cabins, at least on the Epic, sell out before the others. I just like it that way, though I'm not sure why.
  18. Ours was the start of the repositioning of the ship from Alaska to Australia. Usually you can get them either direction, the two times per year that they move.
  19. And if you do use a backpack, please pay attention to your movements. Just about every single time that I fly, someone whacks me with their backpack either in the airport or on the plane. It is very rude, especially when they don't acknowledge it. The dang thing sticks out two feet behind them, but they spin around like nothing is there. I do not remember the last time that I was blindsided by someones suitcase!!
  20. Five or so years ago, we did a one-way from Vancouver to the Hawaiian Islands. This was in September and the seas were not rough at all.
  21. Yes, on Delta anyway, I'm not sure about other carriers, they will show all unselected seats in classes below yours as blocked. If you go on Delta.com or the app and don't log in and look at available seats for that flight, it will show you the actual occupied and blocked seats. The only way for you to now be able to select one of those, would be to call Delta direct.
  22. Or you can copy and paste the WHOLE itinerary from flightmatrix into bookwithmatrixdot com and that will take you directly to the airline site with the itinerary prepopulated.
  23. I pretty much understood, but wasn't positive. It probably would have been less confusing had you switched the A380 paragraph to the end and the end paragraph to the middle. That way the first two would have been talking about the same aircraft, with the A380 info at the end. Just my 2 cents. I am only replying because you asked, I'm not being critical. Also, because there is only one character different, I could see how someone, especially someone not familiar with Airbus aircraft, could think that the 380 was a typo from 350.
  24. Actually they did in the initial post. Though, the post is kind of confusing. Maybe an A380 one way and A350 the other?
  25. I'm not sure if anyone watches "Mysteries of the Abandoned", but on the episode a few weeks ago, the "Big U' was one of the stories on the episode. They had the granddaughter of the designer on there with the history of the ship and some indoor shots. Sad, but beautiful at the same time.
