  1. I'm angered and my heart aches for the families in TX who now have to bury their precious children as well as the others whose lives were cut down by this senseless tragedy. Unimaginable.
  2. Apparently, my cell phone LG problem is exclusive to Metro by T-Mobile. They're aware of the problem and working on a solution. I was able to make 2 phone calls last night and texting works this morning. I'll still get a new phone tomorrow. We have only one car and our day today is taken up with appointments that can't be changed. And we're expecting severe thunderstorms today. On our way out now. Such is our weather here. Storms mixed with off and on sunshine.
  3. Only things important to be transferred are my pictures, phone contact list and any phone I buy must be blue tooth compatible with my hearing aids. I would love to keep my current phone number. We shall see.
  4. Maryann, Hila or Heela (not sure of the correct transliteration, if there even is one) is now walking slowly with the aid of a walker. She goes home every weekend to be spoiled by family. Her mom, my niece, is a great cook. Remember, Hila is only 15. Every picture, every video, she has a big smile on her face. Thank you for asking. I think it was announced in 2001 that LG cells would not be serviced in the future. Yes, 3G phones. Guy in 1st Metro store said the least expensive phone to replace was $200 each and he wasn't sure our apps could be transferred. Jack got much better advice from the 2nd Metro store he went to. $89 for a new phone and most apps can be transferred. We'll both go tomorrow. At least texting still works. sS When my sister and bil moved to El Paso, their son, my nephew used to spend occasional weekends with us in NY when he was in college in PA. Wharton, smart kid. Anyway, I remember calling my sister in alarm and telling her he doesn't stop eating! She laughed and said not to worry.
  5. So, Jack and I didn't heed the warnings, and now as of today, both of our LG cell phones are not working except for ER calls. We'll have to get new cell phones and not sure our apps can be transferred. Jack is now, as we speak, at a 2nd Metro store to see what can be done. We didn't like the clerk in the first Metro store we went to. Didn't get good vibes from him. He gave us absolutely no advice saying "I can't do anything". I had stuff to do at home and am awaiting for Jack's return to see if he was successful in....getting something accomplished. AND we just gave up our landline a few days ago since we never used it!! I sent friends and family an email letting them know that email will be our only means of communication until we get new phones which hopefully will be no later than tomorrow.
  6. I hope your trip down memory lane brought smiles to your face. @helen haywoodHave a fantastic anniversary. @sgmnHappy birthday to your Gary.
  7. No, that one is not familiar. Our go to NJ diner when we lived in NY was the Park Ridge Diner. We've been to one in I think Hackensack. Another one in Paramus on Route 4, and in Rockland County, The New City Diner, Nanuet Diner, Blauvelt Diner. My daughter is close to one near her house but I forget the name. Now that one sounds familiar. Oh I remember those Catskill Mts bug splatters very well. Our car was covered in dead bugs driving thru those mountains. Ewww!
  8. There is NOTHING like a NJ Diner. I think we've been to every diner in Bergen County. Can't wait to be in NJ for 2 weeks in mid-June for. our grandson's Middle School graduation. Enjoy the beach, where salt lowers blood pressure!
  9. @singinalotCrystal and Nate, treasure every new moment in this newest chapter of your lives. New memories to be made. May they all be sweet.
  10. Thank you for sharing your cruise with us. Your pictures are truly spectacular.
  11. This conversation took place a short while after moving to Texas: I ran into a neighbor once who said her son was so excited to be going to a Rangers game that night. I asked if he's a sports fan and she said absolutely. I told her he must love hockey. She said not as much as baseball. I asked if the Rangers play many games in Texas. We finally figured out we were both talking about two completely different teams/sports. I had no idea Texas had a baseball team!. At least I knew what sport the NJ Rangers play....slinking away in shame. Once at work in TX, we had spirit day when the Rangers (baseball, lol) played against the Yankees in the World Series. I was the only one to show up wearing a Yankees cap. i was politely told by my boss to please remove it!! Honest! Texans are very proud and passionate about their TX sports. Apparently, I'm not. And yes, I removed my cap. I never argue with the person who signs my paychecks. 😉
  12. My sister once got a call from her "grandson" who was crying that he needed her to send him cash. She knew it was a scam since her grandson was a child. She asked him what his sister's name was. Of course, the guy immediately hung up. I knew my arm would feel better and it does, but still a dull ache and I am soooo tired like I was after the 1st booster. In case you haven't noticed, I am a whiner for sure. Glad to read folks in here are cruising and feeling good.
  13. Thanks. I also let the credit card company know when we'll be traveling out of state. So scary to know how easy it is for hackers to get into our accounts. Thanks, Lenny. I know in a day or two I'll be fine. This should be the only pain I experience.
  14. I took the 2nd covid booster (#4 vaccine overall) yesterday and my arm is so much more painful than any other vaccine I received. I've been trying to exercise and drink plenty of water. A few hours ago, I received a fraud Chase text informing me that someone used my credit card to charge $60 gas in Atlanta. I was instructed to click on a link which, of course I didn't click. The text did not come in from a toll free 800 or 888 number. I immediately called Chase and they verified that there were no charges in Atlanta for that amount, nor any that were questionable. I sent Chase Fraud an email with pictures of the text. So scary. Very hard to keep up in here. Hope all remain well.
  15. Sue, have a super wonderful cruise with Rick. I'm looking forward to reading about your antics. They always make me smile and I am especially looking forward to reading about your casino wins! Mark and Susan have a great cruise as well.
  16. I had at least 6 pages to wade through and was happy to see we have a new resident. @MRS. H Debbie welcome to our wonderful group. I'm Bonnie, husband is Jack. He grew up in Israel, I lived in Williamsburg, Bklyn for the first 2 years of my life, then Grand St in Manhattan and now living the life in a suburb of Dallas. My brother in law lived in Brownsville for many years and then moved to East Flatbush very close to Tilden H.S. So happy to have you join us. Lenny, hope you can get the new chair soon. It brings more freedom for you which will be much welcome I am sure. I have 9 more 1 hour online courses to take for my new job so I won't be on CC much. Now y'all behave yourselves, hear???
  17. I thought the very same thing when I read in here about the Amish. Wonderful movie. I also loved the scene where young Samuel fingers the picture of a cop/murderer in a glass showcase. When we lived in NY, we visited the Amish area in PA quite a few times.
