Sorry to hear you have the dreaded you know what. Hope you are not too ill and recover quickly. We got off Anthem two weeks ago and I had a cold/cough for about five days. I tested negative a few times so I assume it was just a cold thank goodness. I have got my flu jab on Thursday and the other one next week. Take care Michelle

Morning everyone, it’s a nice morning here, sunshine is coming through. Hubby is out weeding the garden already. Don’t think we are doing anything today except the usual household type jobs that need doing. Have a good weekend everyone Michelle

It’s my mums favourite place for afternoon tea, it is a lovely hotel and the service is brilliant Michelle

Just been out for afternoon tea at the Clifton Arms Hotel in Lytham with my mum. The hotel overlooks Lytham Green which is nice. It was delicious, apple and celery soup with cheese straws, home made sausage rolls, selection of sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of cakes. I am stuffed!! We couldn’t manage to eat it all. So much for cutting down on the food after my hols!!! Michelle

There is no visually distinct border between Lytham and Lytham St Annes. We live directly back from Fairhaven Lake and about 50metres from Royal Lytham St Annes golf course. It is more expensive to live in Lytham but we like where we are in between to two, we can walk to both in about 15/20 mins. It sounds like you had a lovely time when you visited recently Michelle

He is doing well thank you. His mum got him some food supplements prescribed from the Drs, like a Complan type of drink I believe. The swelling has gone down and he isn’t taking painkillers which is good. He is going back to school today. Michelle

Morning everyone, it’s a lovely sunny day here after a cloudy and miserable day yesterday. I feel brighter already looking outside at the sun. I have nothing planned really today, I need to get back to the gym so I might try make the effort there. I will take the dog out too at lunchtime much to her disgust, she is a true couch potato. She has been loving it this summer moving between the sofa and the sun lounger then into the shade to cool down. Have a nice day everyone Michelle

Hi Interestedcruisefan, Just been reading about all your travels, sounds like you have lots to look forward to. We moved to Lytham St Anne’s about five years ago and I agree it’s a lovely place to live with something going on all the time. I don’t know if you managed to go to the theatre at Lowther Pavilion when you were here but it’s a nice place to spend an evening. Lots of nice restaurants and bars as I am sure you discovered. Michelle

Some gardening to do this morning then will have a wander out this afternoon if it’s not too warm. It’s St Annes Kite Festival this weekend which is always great to see, the kites are amazing. Morning Jane & everyone, gosh it was warm last night wasn’t it? We had the fan going all night and still too warm. Our grandson is doing ok, I text him yesterday, he said he was fine. He has not taken any painkillers since he came home just antibiotics. His mum says he has not eaten much yet, he is having the same mushed food as his baby sister for next few weeks. I suggested she spoke to her Dr about getting him some high calorie/protein drinks, my dad at something like that when he was really ill I seem to remember. He isn’t a teenager that can do with losing weight really, he needs the calories Michelle

Too hot for me, in my younger years I would have loved it but not now Michelle

Thanks Kalos, he is home and has just been sleeping probably due to the anaesthetic and the fact he had no sleep at all Monday night. Hopefully he is going to make a good recovery Michelle

Grandson update - he’s had surgery and has two plates screwed in to secure his jaw. He is currently sleeping, might be home later tonight. I am just glad it wasn’t any worse cause it easily could have been Thank you everyone for all your kind words Michelle

We usually split the driving but because we had four grandchildren, my mobility scooter and luggage we needed to take two cars. Forgot to say earlier we stayed the night before at Elizabeth House Hotel, it was very nice, clean and good breakfast. Nice pub across the road for a meal and a great playground for the children Michelle
