  1. At Long Beach I tried the phone routine and it was a no go. Had to get in another line to get it printed.
  2. This is the info Carnival provides. See attached pdf file. 107965980_2021USAnnualReport-ShareholderBenefit-Final.pdf
  3. I got a Christmas card in March so there isn't much faith in USPS for me. I know email is not as safe as FAX but since the account info is redacted I am not worried. US mail is the least safe way of sending info in these days.
  4. That's a pretty good assumption to me. Went from one month down to about a day recently but there will surely be a glut in April, assuming it is renewed. I bought a lot of shares when I thought the stock was recovering a year ago so I need this benefit for about 100 more years 🤣
  5. They have been quick lately. Before it was taking me a month or so. I just clip off the sticky part of post it notes to cover the account info, it works like a charm. Scribbling with a pen didn't work too well.
  6. The answer is yes, he would just need a document showing the ownership. But as shof515 said above only one per stateroom. I and my traveling pal also have the shares so we just get one benefit and split it to be fair.
  7. That is all I do also. I put the info in the body of the email, scan the page with my account information and all the info handwritten onto the statement also. Never had an issue yet, but of course with carnival one never knows what will happen.
  8. Was that a FAX? I just scan and then email a PDF file, no problems ever.
  9. It was last November. I had created a cash account and brought my handy 500 dollar gift card from Allstate. I ended up boarding with no money on my sail and sign account. I don't know if it is official policy or a lazy person checking me in didn't know how or want to bother applying the GC.I would much rather apply the GC myself when I create the account online but it is not an option. The kiosk turned out to be easy enough though.
  10. No problem. And if you get a cruise for 250 deposit and then have to cancel it, the penalty is usually 50 dollars and you would have 200 left to be used on a cruise that is booked within 12 months of cancellation date. So it is not the end of the world.
  11. Wait for a half off deposit, they have them often.
  12. In fairness I can understand why, they don't want people gumming up the boarding process. Too bad Carnival doesn't allow us to apply gift cards when creating our on board accounts.
  13. I have tried to do it when checking in, but at least in Long Beach they don't want anything to do with it and tell me to do it on board. The kiosk has finally been working for me after not working in the past.
  14. You got lucky because it has only been approved until July 31, 2023 for now. Someone made a booboo.
  15. If you have an IRA or 401K you may be able to purchase the 100 shares through them. I have a Vanguard IRA and was able to purchase Carnival with no commission and have been enjoying the shareholder benefit for a while now.
  16. If you don't cruise all the prepurchased stuff is paid back in the form of original payment. In this case new gift cards would be issued because Carnival does not reload gift cards.
  17. That's optimistic! I am guessing three different color choices for the koozie.
  18. Charges can take up to 10 days to fall off. It isn't AARP it is your bank that takes that long for them to fall off. Just like all the Carnival holds that people think is Carnival's fault.
  19. Because at the point of cancellation the cabin is not fully paid for. If you call a week before and state someone is not going that becomes a partial cancellation. The other cancelling person's fare is confiscated as the 100 percent penalty phase so the fare paid is wiped out (taken as penalty)and then the room is not fully funded.
  20. Ah yes, the triple length extended balcony with the gawdiness of Joe Farcas. Doesn't get any better IMHO 😉 .
  21. The charges should fall off, but keep an eye on it. AARP had trouble with this in Sept and their rewards site was basically down for a month because of charges being added without product delivery. I had trouble getting a purchase to go through when I was buying my daughter some gift cards trying to use her CC on my account. It didn't work until I used my card that matched my AARP account name (my name).
  22. You got me curious so I looked up the eclipse view from Hilo, Hawaii. I thought it would be better than this. A well placed Mexican Riviera cruise would be best, but that is a no go. Mazatlan will be right it the middle of it.
