  1. Not an inexpensive option, but certainly one of the "best." A 6 hour tour from Whittier to Anchorage. Salmonberry Tours is a wonderful company, used them and would recommend! https://www.salmonberrytours.com/tour/whittier-to-anchorage-transfer-and-tour/
  2. On our Celebrity Eclipse cruise in August 2019, we got within a half mile of Hubbard Glacier. Yes, you read that correctly .... it was UNBELIEVABLE! Captain Leo said it was the closest he had EVER been able to get. Conditions were optimal and rare. Leonardos Palaiokrassas (@captainl3o) β€’ Instagram photos and videos
  3. Oh, heck yes ... totally agree with your sentiment. Our son and DIL live in South FL and we absolutely despise driving there. Thankful they moved a bit north to West Palm, but is still a dustercluck as far as driving is concerned.
  4. This shuttle (formerly Capital Aeroporter) is NOT the same as Seattle Express. We used both last year and were very pleased. All Transfers Seattle | Seattle Express
  5. Last year for our July 30th departure, we used Capital Aeroporter (apparently now called Premier Shuttle) for 4 adults and many bags. Efficient, prompt, clean transportation with excellent communication. We pre-booked a private shuttle from SeaTac to the Fairmont Olympic for $115. Not exactly the cheapest option, but I highly recommend their service! 6. There is no land connection between Seward and Juneau. Perhaps you are asking about bus service from Seward to Anchorage post cruise?
  7. Good choice! Hope you have a most excellent cruise.
  8. Goodness, sorry to read of his passing. May his memory be a blessing.
  9. You don't mention your ship, which pier or what time your scheduled boarding/departure is. Without that information, difficult to assist you with the decision.
  10. Just curious what exactly you are looking to do in Sitka? It's such a compact area, where are you wanting to go with a rental car?
  11. Goofy as it may be, one of my favorite little places in Victoria is the Miniature World museum. Easy walk from the waterfront ... good for about an hour visit and sure to delight the kids (and adults πŸ˜‰ ) https://miniatureworld.com/
  12. Docked in Kahului, another option is Cafe O' Lei at the Mill House, Maui Plantation. Would be an Uber or taxi ride but worth it. I think Mama's Fish House has become way too touristy. Just my opinion, and probably not a popular one πŸ˜‰ We really enjoyed Maui Plantation last week (not a cruise visit, spent a week on Maui.)
  13. Pre-Covid (August 2019,) we stayed at the Pan Pacific for several nights prior to cruising on the Celebrity Eclipse. We booked our room thru Chase Sapphire Reserve Ultimate Rewards (was not a cruise package.) Upon check in, we were asked if we'd like to use the pre-cruise option of checking our bags directly to the ship prior to boarding. We did use the service and tipped our bellman very well πŸ™‚ It's an awesome service and makes boarding a breeze!
  14. That seems like a fairly competitive price given the influx of travel to Seattle this summer. We got a smokin' rate of $303 per suite all in (except for the $20 "resort fee" payable at the hotel upon check in) last year. Doubt we'll see those rates anytime soon. Have fun!!!!
  15. Perhaps not in this thread, but many have mentioned the Fairmont Olympic, including myself. Had a wonderful stay pre-cruise last year (July 2021) for the second sailing of the Celebrity Millennium. We booked two Executive Suites, one for Son and DIL and one for us using Chase Reserve Ultimate rewards. Seamless stay, loved the location and breakfast at the Olympic Bar was excellent. We didn't use the pool or other facilities but did walk the entire property and felt it was very clean. The hotel arranged private transportation to the pier the morning of our departure - prompt and professional. The Fairmont is more than okay ... enjoy your stay and cruise πŸ™‚
  16. Last year we used Skagway Private tours. Our guide, Sherry, unfortunately was called away for a family emergency but had a good friend/guide do the tour ... we were very pleased. Her family has long time roots in Skagway so truly a local! Give a call or send an email and no doubt she'll take awesome care of you. Please tell her Sharon & Tommy from Phoenix (the clusterduck gal) sent you πŸ˜‰ No, I don't get anything for the referral. Skagway Private Tours, llc
