  1. As the OP is asking about N. Statendam, the shower (no tub) in our aft corner Deck 6 SB on Statendam was twice the size of standard shower stalls in most ships, and had a "rain" shower head. Might be the best shower stall in our 25 cruises. But the room was small, and not a really good layout. Deck was nice, as most of the aft SBs are.
  2. Have ridden on N. Statendam and KDam in afts for a total of 4 times. I can think of a few hours one day it was a bit rough near Iceland. The seas move, it can be rough. Not sure how one can say the ship rode "badly". The stern and the bow are going to move more in many sea conditions. Fact of life. Were in Deck 6 aft on N. Statendam for 18 days, and can't recommend those...the smallest Neptune we have been in. Deck 7 on Kdam and deck 4 on most all the ships with aft corners are nice. Deck 5 ( family) on KDam was also a bit on the smaller side, particularly if you are splitting the beds. N. Statendam Neptune bathrooms are better than KDam, although there wasn't anything really bad about Kdam. Just better designed on Statendam.
  3. Neptune Suites get all the CO benefits and more. Aft corner Neptunes are very popular, but, having been in all but deck 8 aft corners, I would suggest only deck 4 or 7. Otherwise, it is mentioned here frequently to avoid the SQ and SCs. They have some balcony size issues.
  4. Not aware that any cruise line REQUIRES you to use an app for anything. Yes, using an app might be helpful is many cases, but not aware of any requiring an app.
  5. Am I missing how getting Club Orange would fix waiting in line at Lido? CO is not for lunch, for example. CO doesn't have any advantage at Customer Services, nor most anywhere else where you might have to wait in line. Waiting in line happens in lots of places, on all ships, any cruise line.
  6. Been discussed here pretty frequently, but no official resolution. It may depend on the source of the OBC. Certainly hope it can, as we have about $700 inn OBC on an upcoming 14 day cruise, and grats aren't included in that HIA.
  7. I don't see a problem with this approach in the US. If you gave a little more, I think you would be fine.
  8. Pretty sure you need a timed ticket to go to the top if the Leaning Tower.
  9. The quote was in reference to each person needs their own "ticket", not credit card. PINs on US cards are not required.
  10. Cruise long enough, you will. We have had 3 in 25 cruises over 33 years.
  11. Good luck with that...in today's really high demand flight environment, EXTREMELY unlikely. You have an very restricted fare, and it may not be changeable, even if, in the unlikely situation there are available seats on the desired flight.
  12. So there were limited meal offerings? Was there an meal event ashore for the passengers?
  13. A full charter can do just about anything they want, for a price. If they want the Lido closed 24/7, they could do it. Not saying they are in your case, but they could. I would say you need to wait until you get on board and find out what is happening. A charter is a charter. Anything less than a charter is a group ( possibly a large, medium or small group) on board, but it's not a charter. Chartered cruises "own" the ship for the cruise, groups don't change itineraries or shut down the Lido, they go the itinerary that was scheduled and use rooms or other spaces.
  14. Surprising...guess that is why I didn't get the memo.
  15. At times, yes. At other times, not really.
  16. No doubt about that. The downtown...within a mile or two of the cruise terminal and including Petco, is very walkable, fun and pleasant to visit.
  17. No, you don't do US Immigration and Customs at Heathrow. But you do have an extra security check for US bound flights. GE is not a factor at Heathrow.
  18. Well, excuse me for doubting you. I missed the memo that wasn't allowed.
