  1. Ooops...my mistake. I don't know anything about Virgin. We use Holland America, and have a 21 day Med cruise booed for 2025. They meet the needs we have, it will be our second Med cruise on HAL.
  2. Viking is definitely not more of a "Caribbean" cruise line. In fact, my niece and nephew is about to do a Med cruise involving an extended Egypt pre-cruise visit. Focus on the ports you want to visit and the time spent in each. Europe has a lot of long tours and excursions...you need plenty of time in each port.
  3. Take the ship's transfers. More expensive, but it will be a bus, and won't require child seats.
  4. Suite pax have the same priority as 4 star...they will be seated in the same area.
  5. Immigration? There isn't Immigration procedures to board...unless you mean showing your passport.
  6. What ship? Might be different machines. Definitely not on Zaandam earlier this month.
  7. We have as well...twice. Both in the middle of the night, both for small fires. Both situations were very short lived...less than 20 minutes. How did it go? Well, in one case, I looked out the door of our cabin, to see pax running down the hall, some with life jackets on, some carrying their life jacket, even though no order to report to muster stations had been given. So, while in the big picture, we followed the directions, at least some people did not. Having worked in emergency services for almost 40 years, this didn't surprise us. People don't behave logically nor follow directions in emergencies.
  8. I have looked over the employee's shoulder several times...the picture doesn't show up at the bar or shop. It does at the gangway...perhaps at other other locations. But definitely not at bars or the stores.
  9. Take a look down the board...lots of threads on hotels. You are sailing from Pier 91, so no hotel near there. Hotels that provide shuttles are pretty rare, but the downtown area is pretty compact, so a taxi or Uber will be pretty inexpensive. Been a few years, but it was $13 before tip from the Hilton downtown to Pier 91.
  10. As frequently discussed here...Road to Hana, Haleakala, Iao Valley...
  11. Same answer to your other thread. 4 to 5 months prior to sailing.
  12. In advance, you can only book for the entire cruise. Once on board, you can book days individually, depending on availability.
  13. Cinque Terre is much further away, so I would do that the first day. Pisa and Florence would be another long day... In both cases, if you are not interested in a private tour and transport, which are most definitely the most efficient use of your time, you are pretty much limited to trains.
  14. I have not heard that any ships other than the Princess ships sailing from Vancouver can't go east of Vancouver Island. Are there others?
  15. Finding tours at the dock is not "a thing" in Europe.
  16. The simple answer...if are sailing to or from Vancouver, you are going through the "true" Inside Passage.
  17. The benefits are the same as all other ships, except the Pinnacle class ships that have the separate Club Orange dining room. That, and the price are discussed here quite frequently. There is a thread just down the board from today that discusses the price. It is commonly mentioned that if you aren't on a Pinnacle class ship, the best benefits are the possibility of great savings in the cabin upgrade costs, if you book the right cabin category and upgrade seriously for no cost.
  18. But that is not staying on board and kicking back. That is what happens in non-US ports. There is a mandatory procedure in US ports.
  19. Nope. A B2B at a US port almost always requires clearing the ship. The OP will need to go through Immigration (not Customs) procedures.
  20. You can promise not to go into Canada, but they won't allow you on the ship without the required citizenship proof.
  21. That would also depend on your arrival time, which you don't specify.
