This Could Be Financially Dangerious If.........
perfect match replied to Ret MP's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I’m so happy for you that you finally got a move in date! Hope you have a great view from your newly refurbished apartment. Another cruise booked is the icing on the cake. You’re right -life is good! Enjoy it! -
@DragonOfTheSeas, thank you for the update. I’ve been wondering if you and your DH had managed to get home yet. It must have been quite the fall! I hope that you are able to get him out of the hospital soon, and get both of you safely home. I’m happy to hear that you have trip insurance. It certainly does make a big difference when the time comes that you need it. Your story is a good example of why having insurance is a good idea. You may never need it, but that one time that you do it can be life changing.

Thank you very much, Sea Dog! Absolutely perfect! Looks like a few others enjoyed it as well. Hope you’re able to find a spot on Coco Cay that’s not too windy. It’s going to be hard to top the other two beach days that you’ve had on this cruise, at least based on my idea of what makes a perfect beach day. Mermaid Beach and the one I’m having a senior moment and can’t remember the name of at the moment are exactly what I picture a perfect beach day to be. Coco Cay, while it is a nice beach day is not my perfect beach day. Yes, I go out there and yes, DH has to drag me out of the ocean and back to the ship at the end of the day. It’s still a very nice place to spend the day

The only day lunch was available on our Allure 3 day was day 1 at $15.99. I booked it so we wouldn’t have to deal with the buffet. Oh, and I really do want to try the filet at that price! 😋 The sale wasn’t available for lunch on our Wonder cruise as several others have said. Dinner on that one was $39.99.

I completely agree with you on this one. We don’t spend a whole lot of time in our room either but sometimes we need a little time away from all of the activity going on out on the rest of the ship and a little mindless staring at the tv without watching all of the activities on the ship that we’re taking a break from. I have an Amazon Firestick that I’m planning to bring on our next cruise. I just hope that 1) I can figure out how to hook it up (I was successful on our recent land trip so that’s a good sign) and 2) that I can teach DH how to use it! That will be the real challenge! Once again, thank you very much for a great, fun review! I’ll be looking for you on Harmony in December.

I love these relaxation videos! Is it possible that an aft view relaxation video might appear at some point? The posts of the group from the Bella cruise really make me long for the days when there were active roll calls on CC where I got to know people before we set sail and planned get togethers when we were on the ship. Either that, or wish we could have managed to go on that Bella sailing, but the timing for that just couldn't be worked out. :sigh:

Would someone please post a working link to Bernard’s website? I’m seeing on this forum that people are still touring with him, but I can’t seem to access his site through any web address I’ve used previously. 🤷♀️ Thanks!

I think Margaritaville is going to get an earful in your review! They do need to know about the overcharges on your bill though. AFAIK they’re an honest company and would not want their customers treated like you were. our Nassau hours are 7AM 😱 to either 2 or 3 PM, I don’t remember exactly. DH always wants to be back on board 2 hours early and I probably won’t want to leave the ship before 11 or so. It would be too rushed for me. Besides, we will be at Coco Cay the day before so DH will get his fill of beach there. He’s not a beach bum like me. We do plan to go ashore and wander around the new port area a bit and see what they’ve done. It was still very much under construction the last time we were there. Thank you very much for your live review. I’ve enjoyed following along with you. Hope you have a safe trip home.

Thank you very much for all the information about your Resort Pass day at Margaritaville. I was seriously thinking about booking there when we stop in Nassau in April. Unfortunately, we have an early, short day in port and I am most definitely not a morning person, so I’m going to pass on this trip and hope that our next Nassau stop has port hours that will work for me. I wonder how many times that guy (the bartender?) has overcharged people like he tried to do to you. I’m glad you caught the overcharge and were able to get it corrected. Thanks for the warning.

Water taxi was it’s usual fun ride when we were in Ft Lauderdale. We boarded at Galleria Mall/Doubletree stop 7. Rode to Bahia Mar, asked when the next taxi going south would arrive, disembarked, walked across the street, and took a 2 mile walk along Ft Lauderdale beach. My two fully replaced knees can go that far now! 😀 You don’t have to walk that far though. Boarded the next taxi and rode to 15th St Fisheries. Watched the very well fed tarpon, had dinner, and the next taxi arrived just as we were ready to board. The Water Taxi does have a tracking feature to let you know where the taxis currently running are, but it wasn’t working at all. After dinner we headed north to the last taxi stop, then back to Galleria for the drive back to our resort. I hope your day is as enjoyable as ours was! we saw a lot of the temporary docks floating near Bahia Mar, ready to be set up for the boat show. They have most likely been set up by now and some may already be occupied by the boats brought in for the show. I hope you and Linda have a wonderful anniversary dinner at the Boathouse restaurant! Happy anniversary to both of you! 🥂🍾

I loved your pictures from Horseshoe Beach! Sure looks like my kind of beach! I really need to stop saying that I want to book a cruise that goes to Bermuda and just do it! My quiet place on any ship we’re on is usually my balcony. I always hope that my neighbors are those people who book balcony rooms but never use them.

I’ll be ready to enjoy those pictures that you will be sharing when you return from your Odyssey cruise! 😀 Hopefully, I will be done reading your old Allure review by then. I’m reading it a little bit at a time and getting more excited about being back on Allure with every page I read. I know our upcoming time on Allure will be very different from the previous sailing. That one was shortly after the restart with only 2200 pax on board and everyone really excited just to be back on a ship again. We felt like we were on our own private super mega yacht! We’ll never see those days again!
