  1. Thanks! Enjoying your review. We love Allure. Hope to find a way to fit another cruise on her into our schedule soon. We don’t have any cruises booked right now and I’m feeling a panic attack coming on 😱.So many awesome ships 🛳️ 🛳️🛳🛳️ to choose from. So hard to decide!
  2. Keep in mind that we’re normally big ship sailors. Our smallest Royal ships have been Freedom and Independence. We love ❤️ Oasis class! We found parts of Odyssey to be a little bit cramped. In some places bottlenecks formed much more so than on the much wider Oasis class ships. We missed the AquaTheater, the Royal Promenade, and Central Park. On Odyssey, the biggest bottlenecks occurred in the Royal Esplanade on deck 4. With Odyssey being less wide than Oasis class, that meant the Promenade was narrower too, but with just as many activities, photographers 😱 and people just hanging out that it made it difficult to get from one place to another. Deck 5 had some of the same bottlenecks. Other than a few bottlenecks and photographers to dodge, we really enjoyed the ship! The shows were impressive, the service was excellent, there were plenty of choices of things to do. No matter what you like to do you should have no problem finding activities you enjoy. While we don’t love the new menus we still had no trouble finding food that we enjoyed in the MDR. As a night owl, I loved sea day brunch on Oasis and Freedom class ships and was glad to see it available on Odyssey. The North Star was awesome, views not to be missed, and I also loved iFly, the skydiving simulator. For me personally one key to enjoying the bigger ships is my balcony. We have been booking Jr Suites so there is plenty of room to go out there, relax, and watch the ocean go by. Day or night, I very much enjoy my balcony time away from all of the activity onboard the big ships. I’m sure you and your daughter will find plenty to love on Anthem. We certainly did. Now one of these days DH and I are going to have to try some of the smaller ships since I keep hearing so many wonderful things about them.
  3. I’d be right there with you snorkeling at the base of the black rock with your friendly sea turtle! I have a pet peeve about singers who expect the audience to do their job for them. If I’m at a particular singer’s concert I’m there because I want to hear them sing, not the audience. I don’t think I would have liked your Freddy Mercury tribute group show much either. I can’t wait to see where your day tomorrow takes you. I’m sure it will be a fun adventure wherever you end up going. Thanks for the frequent reader extra credit! I know I’m not the only frequent FGB reader here though. 😀
  4. I’m enjoying your review! I’ll be interested to see how your S2S goes. We’ve done B2B, but never S2S. Our last stop in Nassau was shortly after cruising reopened post pandemic. It looked to us like the whole port was nothing but a construction zone. We has a ship sponsored snorkeling tour booked and they picked us up right on the cruise pier. We never set foot on land in Nassau. We went from ship to pier to snorkel boat to deep water snorkel and reverse order back to ship. I thought it was very convenient and was hoping they would do that all the time. Wishful thinking on my part for sure. It will be interesting to see the newly redone port area there. We just got off Odyssey last week and while I didn’t love the new menus I still managed to find enough to eat. 😀😋 I loved the lasagna because it did have a lot of meat in it. Different people have different food preferences and the lasagna definitely was a hit for me. I was happy to see that some but not all of the always available items seemed to have found their way back onto the menu.
  5. I’m definitely on board for this! I’ve already read a lot of your past reviews including your big group shared one - do I get any extra credit for previously read reviews. I’ll also be looking for your uncruise review once it’s up. 😀 We just got off Odyssey a week ago, our first time on a Quantum class ship. We kept very busy all week and still didn’t manage to do or see everything there was to do on the ship. Our biggest miss - we never once made it into the Solarium! I’m still scratching my head as to how I let that happen, but the planner in me is ashamed to say that happen it did. Guess I’ll have to book another Quantum class ship to rectify that omission! 🤣 Meanwhile, I can’t wait to see what you and your group do on this cruise. 🛳 So far it sure looks like a lot of fun!
  6. @CatLadyFemme, I’m sorry to hear of the unexpected loss of your mother. My sympathy to you and your family. I’m looking forward to hearing both about your time in NY as well as your transatlantic cruise. Can’t wait to sail along with you!
  7. We’re back from our trip on Odyssey which we really enjoyed. I’m mostly done dealing with all of the life “stuff” that always seems to be waiting for me when we come back from a trip. Finally getting a chance to catch up here on Cruise Critic and just finished catching up with your review. You and your family are awesome!
  8. Thanks for doing this review. We were on Odyssey last week so I’m just starting to catch up with my CC reading now. I really don’t know how those of you who do live reviews manage to do them. Most days I never even got online, never mind on CC! Pre cruise I had briefly thought about trying a “live”. I’m glad I didn’t because I’d have been one of those people who started a review but never finished it. I’m glad you and your family enjoyed your cruise. I really appreciate the time you took to share your cruise with us.
  9. Thanks for all the info on Playmakers. I was thinking about going there tomorrow after we board, but we ended up having our pre cruise dinner at Gilbert’s in FLL, so I think I’ll wait a few days before we do Playmakers. I don’t think we’ll be ready for another burger 🍔 so soon!
  10. Ahhh, Labadee! I miss that place! Looks like you had a beautiful day there. We board Odyssey in the morning and unfortunately we’re going to Coco Cay. Again. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate Coco Cay. It’s beautiful for what it is. I just like Labadee a little bit better, and lately every cruise I’ve been on has gone to Coco Cay. I’m thinking that the private island the next ship we book stops at May be a deciding factor in choosing an itinerary. I love that zipline on Labadee!
  11. Thank you! I’m sure we will! DH and I really appreciate all the cabin info, pictures, and video of the room. It made our booking decision a real no brainer!
  12. We sail on Odyssey this coming Sunday so I should be working on my own packing and pre cruise to do lists, but I’m having more fun here right now. I did make good progress with the pre cruise to do lists and even a little packing earlier today so I think I can cnjoy a little fun time. So, I have a question for the Playmakers burgers fans. Just what is it that makes those burgers 🍔 so good? Could be our boarding day lunch 🍔🍔!
  13. I always enjoy an @RCCL Fan review and this one is no exception! We finally board Odyssey on Sunday. Me & Mrs RCCL Fan will recognize their picture of the cabin we’re heading for. 😀 Can’t wait to stay in it
  14. The bed in 10727 was by the closet. Should be the same in 12727. Pictures of bed and couch locations in 10727 from our 2016 cruise.
  15. Tell them you were scouting out the best bars to take them once they’re on board with you! I’m sorry your day at Coco Cay was so rainy. Hope the person who needed to be evacuated will get the treatment they need and will be ok.
  16. @OCSC Mike, that would be awesome! I’m planning on booking Wonder for our next cruise and I’d love to hear your thoughts on her.
  17. Thanks for the review. May be booking Wonder once we board Odyssey next week.
  18. Thanks for the dive pictures and videos! Beautiful!
  19. Love your over water bungalow! Unfortunately it doesn’t make much sense when it’s just me and my DH, and DH wants to walk around and explore.
  20. Hey, I remember that iguana! That was our last stop on our Curaçao day. I was pretty tired by the time we got there, especially after diving the day before in Bonaire and two amazing dives that day in Curaçao. I’m not as young as I used to be but I wasn’t about to miss how beautiful this place was. I could rest later. I hope you got to go to the same place we did to see the turtles. I’ve done a lot of dives in a lot of different places over the years and that day of diving is definitely in my top five favorites. I can’t wait to see where you went. The iguana says hi!
