  1. Roy that was a day I won''t forget as we knew the guest who was evacuated. Sadly she passed a few months later. That was also a World Cruise we won't forget because while on board Covid unfolded. We were scheduled to sail Miami to Sydney so we could visit our family and return home. If we were doing the full World Cruise we would have stayed but as it turned out it wouldn't have been for too much longer. Keith
  2. Big drop depends on your reference point. Every World Cruise has carried a different guest count and numbers have ranged significantly. So many factors play into this including start and end ports, itinerary, economy, world issues, and so forth. One that is certainly unique this time around is that as discussed here often some people booked with other cruise lines before Crystal announced their itineraries, I know some of them who were locked in with other lines but plan to return for a future World Cruise. I do want to note that I've heard different numbers over the past few weeks. Sadly I know three people who had to cancel recently due to health issues. Keith
  3. Correct. The full WC will still end in Miami for those who started in Miami and in San Diego for those who will begin there. The itinerary changes are key and are of a lot of interest by those taking individual voyage(s) on both ships to know if they will have any impact on their flights, hotels, transfer arrangements, etc. need to be updated. Keith
  4. Safe travels and wishing you an early Bon Voyage. Keith
  5. I'll also posted this as a stand-alone thread. Keith Press Statement: Crystal Cruises Navigates Red Sea Situation with Safety in Mind In light of the current situation in the Red Sea, Crystal remains committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of our guests and crew. We understand the evolving dynamics and are actively monitoring the situation, maintaining open communication with relevant authorities and security firms to make informed decisions. Our team is diligently working to create alternate itineraries, recognizing the potential need to make adjustments should the need arise to cancel voyages that transit the Red Sea. Throughout this process, we will maintain an ongoing conversation with our guests to ensure their preferences are considered and addressed. For our World Cruise Guests, we will confirm that any adjustments will not impact Crystal Serenity’s ability to reach Miami by June 8, 2024. Once a final decision is made, we will immediately notify all guests who may be impacted. Guests and crew can rest assured that any necessary adjustments will be handled thoughtfully. Considerations such as adjusting ship provisions and the impact on containers in transit, adapting travel plans (including visas) for our dedicated crew members, and rebooking or, if necessary, canceling previously scheduled ports will be addressed with care. Any necessary modifications to itineraries will be carefully managed to prevent any cascading effects on our operational systems. We thank guests and crew for their understanding during this process.
  6. Too bad you don't have enough Gin left. You could fill the pool. 🤣 Keith

  8. They definitely offload the holiday decorations and then bring them on board before they are needed again. Keith
  9. Hope you feel better Dwight. It happened to me one time on the former Seabourn Pride. Firs and only time. I waited too long to take Bonine. I find that if seas are rough during the day the Crystal Plaza/Cove is a great location. Mid ship. Low deck. High ceiling. Glad you are all docked. Fresh air should help too. Keith
  10. Ivi, Senior Head Butler who oversees all the Butlers not the Restaurant Senior Head Waiter. Keith
  11. A very nice interview on the Crystal website featuring Crystal Senior Head Butler Rao as part of the Meet the Crew series. It is an excellent read. https://www.crystalcruises.com/story/sailing-through-the-decades Keith
  12. Ivi at the port it would likely be port security. I would think the holes were not intentional but caused with their unloading. But that is just a guess. At the airport we have had notes placed in the luggage but other times it was clear they went through it but no notes, This last time someone went through one of our pieces and broke a strap. Keith
  13. Too bad Steve can't play as a sub. That would be nice. Keith
  14. Julie, the Holiday Cruise was full and I believe the same will be true for 2024. They had a very festive party including balloon drop and the next day a very nice lunch at Marketplace. We enjoyed the holiday cruise and it was very festive. Keith
  15. I've enjoyed the live reports on this thread including the sense of humor. Keith
  16. Would you proceed straight ahead or to the right? Keith
  17. I checked again today and the official site shows terminal E. There are only three ships in port. I am sure it won’t change. But if it did you would spot Serenity very quickly. Keith
  18. Thank you for your post. The medical team as you note is terrific based on our own experience on the voyage and the ones this summer. i am glad your wife was in great hands while on board and in Miami. Keitj.
  19. We might have to close the borders to keep your arctic weather out of here. Maybe we can build super duper fans to push anything sent our way back to you. 🤗 Keith
  20. Although it was rainy that day, it was sunny staying indoors. Keith
  21. Drink up. Eat up. And bring back to our state warm weather. Keith.
