In over 30 years of sailing with carnival, I've never ever bought an excursion from them. I've always gone on my own and have never had a problem. YMMV...
This is the main reason we don't get fttf for LB anymore. We have the 12:00-12:30 slot. Early enough for lunch, but after the 10:00-11:30 crowds have died down.
Some "upgrade" offers are actually decent upgrades. We had an 8d balcony and a month before the cruise got an offer for an Ocean Suite. Never stayed in one before and the upgrade was $350. It was well worth it in our book.
My brother in law takes my niece all the time on cruises since his wife hates cruises. Not a single person has ever asked for a letter or the matter ever brought up.
I gave up trying to figure out the casino comps. My wife, who hardly gambles because she hates to lose, gets amazing offers like free balcony cabins, DOU and OBC. I, on the other hand, plays thousands and get nothing...nothing...
Oh well, at least one of us gets deals. Two of our cruises last year were free 🙂
Just because there's drug dogs around doesn't mean there's a drug problem.
My city has thousands of police officers around and we don't have a crime problem. In fact, my city has been ranked as one of the safest cities in America.
As I said on an earlier post, we've been cruising with Carnival for over 20 years. I haven't seen really bad behavior by kids, adults on the other hand are a whole different matter.
Thanks for the info tidecat. My brother in law is skittish about our August Panorama cruise. I basically told him Mexico is far safer then our hometown of Los Angeles...
Agreed, they've gotten much faster. I sent my request in on the 19th and received a response the next day:
To be honest, I thought it was going to be denied since we're booked on a casino offer with drinks, OBC, and a reduced rate on the balcony.
