  1. Out of 37 cruises, this - along with the flightseeing in Ketchikan - are our top excursions, hands down! These photos are gorgeous, but you must see it for yourself! AK is also our favorite cruise destination.
  2. This has been our experience, too, for NOLA and Galveston. We check-in online and grab the earliest slot. Once we get through security, check-in, etc. at the port and get seated, we are one of the first groups to board after the suites, wedding parties and diamonds. No difference for us between now and pre-COVID.
  3. Same here! I am so excited - may not be able to sleep tonight! This is such great news! Sick to death of this stupid testing.
  4. We love the Deluxe OV rooms - you get an extra half bath with a sink & tub/shower (as a 5'6" average size female I've never had trouble using it - DH has used it, too. Just a little smaller than a standard size tub in a house) And this extra space makes the entire cabin longer. It makes the "getting ready to go out" situation for two people much easier. DH uses one, I use the other. If you need a bigger tub, then spend the $$ and upgrade to a suite.
  5. Thanks - I looked under this same section yesterday, since I've ordered them before, and found it nowwhere. Oh well!
  6. Along these same lines, does CCL no longer offer just an anniversary/birthday cake to be delivered to your cabin? NOT the decor and cake package - just the cake. We did this pre-COVID, but I haven't seen it offered since the restart. We really enjoyed those cakes! (Yes - I know we can get cake elsewhere, but it was nice to have it delivered to us, and they were better than the Lido cakes.) Happy cruising!
  7. So well said - thank you!!! Saved me from having to type the same thing! 👍😃
  8. BINGO! Same with requiring passengers to pick up their own P/D gifts at the photo shop. And calling to get their chocolate delight delivered. And picking up their own water. Oh we could go on and on.
  9. Well said. None of the items listed in the article are deal breakers for us, but I will definitely miss being able to use the door hanger to order breakfast for the next morning. It does leave me wondering what the next round of cutbacks will be. I have no doubt there will be more. Sad times for CCL - they are clearly struggling.
  10. We didn't hide them on debarkation day. We hid them on our last cruise day, which was a sea day. We hid them in the morning. Wow.............just hoping others would enjoy finding them like we do. People need to chill out.
  11. Found 28 ducks on our last cruise. We absolutely love finding them! We re-hid most of them on our last day. Like others have mentioned, we hid them in elevators, stairwells, and places others have mentioned. We also gave some to kids. On our last night, we gave one to a young lady with special needs - she was absolutely thrilled!! I see no harm in people hiding them. If you see one but don't want it or think it's silly, either leave it for someone else to find, or do what we did and pay it forward - make someone smile!
  12. Sorry you are in this situation - just want to wish you the best with your health issues. Prayers for you!
  13. We have yet to enter our room to very quickly drop off our luggage and find our steward in there, so we don't feel like we are interrupting him/her. It's not like we go in there, rest a while, use the bathroom, etc. and then leave 30 minutes or an hour later. And yes - we DO have jobs. We DO understand that they also have a job to do, so we are very respectful of them. We also take the time to get to know them throughout the cruise and always smile and encourage them by telling them what a great job they are doing. More than I can say for some other cruisers I've witnessed.
  14. I want to cruise with that little fellow! 🙂
  15. Where's the party??? Great photo!
  16. Good gravy! People put so much effort into cheating the system. 😡
  17. VIFP Fare - but the CCL agent who sends the denial doesn't say how cheap is too cheap. At least that's been my experience. For our DEC 2021 cruise, we basically paid $600 total for a balcony cabin over Christmas week and were denied the credit.
  18. We own 100 shares - bought in not long after the whole COVID fiasco started. We've been denied for a couple of cruises, being told by CCL our fare was too cheap for us to get the OBC. We've been approved for others where we paid more for the cruise. As someone else said, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Seems to be the luck of the draw as to who gets the e-mail on the other end at CCL, which is stupid IMO. CCL reps should have hard and fast guidelines as to who gets the SH OBC and who doesn't. I submitted a request last week for our OCT cruise. Waiting to hear back, but I'll be surprised if it's approved.
  19. Curious how the P/D perks are being abused? NOT being sarcastic - I guess I'm clueless to the abuse methods and just want to know. Thank you!
  20. I think this is EXACTLY why they continue to have passengers pick up their gifts. Many will not - which will save $$ for CCL. For our cruises since the restart, we haven't bothered with having the chocolate delight delivered. Just didn't want to mess with it. I should have pressed them for it, but didn't. And on both cruises since restart we've had issues with the free drink that is supposedly already added to our account. Still get charged for it and it's such a hassle to get it straightened out. Not worth it - I don't need the drink that bad. I think CCL should do better by their P/D members. It's just a matter of principle. Agreed!!!
  21. Could someone remind me when my stock statement should be dated? My latest statement indicating my CCL shares is dated May 28-June 24, 2022. Should I go ahead and submit this one or wait a few days for the next one to be posted and use that one to submit for OBC? We sail 10/8/2022. Clearly my brain needs a cruise - I just can't remember!
