  1. Just realized I stated this incorrectly: meant to say now with under staffing issues, more often than not our room is not ready when we board. But we also board earlier in the day, so completely understandable regardless of staffing issues. We're ready to hit the feed trough, so off we go after dropping our luggage! 😅
  2. Agree with Lee Cruiser for sure. Even if our room is ready (which now with under staffing, that's the case more often than not) we don't need to stay in our room anyway. Just drop and go!
  3. When you purchase your policy it will say when it goes into effect. If you should have to cancel the cruise, in my experience, I've been able to move the policy to another cruise.
  4. Same as others here - just drop off your luggage quickly and leave. We literally are in there 30 seconds or so then it's off to muster drill and lunch! Make sure your bags are clearly marked with your name so they don't think the previous passengers left their bag. That's just my $0.02. 🙂
  5. We took our first true Christmas cruise DEC 2021. We usually sail a week or two prior to Christmas, but the deal was way too good to pass up! Of course, at that time the ships were still not sailing full, so that was nice. And very few kids!! We absolutely loved it! I wore my Snoopy Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve – lots of others doing the same. I also take along Santa hats that I’ve customized and wear them all week, such as one that I have decorated with our college football team’s logo on it. Christmas Day fell on a sea day. A wonderful and very meaningful yet simple service was held that morning in the main theater – 100% Christian based with Christmas hymns and scripture readings. We will always treasure that! That night (or maybe it was Christmas Eve?), another event was held in the theater with the Santa hats and jingle bell wristbands given out. Fun! They also held the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest in the atrium one night. We brought along a box of Christmas cards to be given to the crew since they are all away from their families during that time. I bought a couple of boxes at the dollar store, signed them with thanks for their hard work, and placed them in the Santa Mailbox in the atrium. They are then distributed to the crew members. I encourage others to do the same!!! We also left some with extra tips in them for our cabin attendants. I also decorated our cabin with Christmas decorations that were easily packable – same for our cabin door. Depending on the ship, you’ll probably hear Christmas music being played throughout as well. Some will criticize you for wanting to be away from home on Christmas, but to each their own. We absolutely love it! Enjoy!
  6. Anyone else have a headache from this thread???🤕
  7. April cruise was koozies for us and love them! I hope to get 2 more on our October cruise. My two faves were the blankets and the Bluetooth speakers. I use both of those almost daily. But like others have pointed out, I just appreciate the gesture.
  8. This is good to know. I've always avoided booking a cabin anywhere near the elevators because I always though it would be so noisy. Interesting!!
  9. Only if you are granted the OBC. Not as easy to get for shareholders now.
  10. This is the same type I have at home now - 2 of them. Yes - too big for my carryon, but they are powerful for their size! I think the ships' supplies of fans are very limited, so I won't chance it. I've seen those that the ship supplies and they are large - would move some air!
  11. I've also seen several large box fans on our cruises. I pack a desktop fan and a non-surge protector extension cord. Would love to see photos/links of some of the others mentioned here. I'm always on the lookout for maybe something a little smaller but with a LOT of power, for when mine dies one day. I will leave other things behind so that I have room in my carry-on for my fan - even for our AK cruises!!
  12. I did BAB on the Dream in April. (Confession: I'm a big kid at heart - no kids so I just did it for myself and for the fun of it! Plus I had some OBC to burn. LOL!) It was held in the comedy club on a sea day. It will be listed in the Fun Times. I strongly suggest you get there early so you can have first pick at the animals and clothing/accessories. They hand out numbers to determine the order of participation - I think it was 5 people at a time could go up front to build their bear. I had a low number, but by the time I got up there, the Carnival bear I really wanted (white with the CCL logo) was gone. Looked like they only had 2 of those to begin with. I ended up with the dog, which was my 2nd choice, so it worked out. Have fun!
  13. Then they shouldn't have a policy against it if it's not going to be enforced. Just sayin.... Drug Free Zones Carnival recognizes that some states in the U.S. have fully legalized the use of recreational and/or medical marijuana. However, cruise lines are required to follow U.S. federal law, which strictly prohibits possession and use of marijuana and other illegal, controlled substances.
  14. Very welcome! I'm going to keep an eye on it. I only saw that mentioned on one page. Didn't see it on any other vendor pages.
  15. That's what I'd like to know!!! I mean the smell is VERY obvious. 🤢
  16. Just found this while researching Goff's Cay - Our cruise in in October. 😞 Goff's Caye will be closed for visitation from May to October 2022 while renovations are being completed by the Government of Belize.
  17. We've asked to change cabins, but if a ship is full, it's not possible.
  18. Same for us, but all of the problem cruisers we've encountered (both in cabins next to us AND out and about around the ship) have all been adults. Agree completely with another poster - CCL should not have let it continue. Also, is marijuana allowed on board now? We're noticing it more and more from the people in the smoking areas (smoke ends up drifting into other areas) and from people using it on their balconies. To the OP - hate this happened to you. My BP shot up as I read your situation. I'm very sensitive to sound, so I know what this is like. I also use ear plugs, but when neighbors are that noisy, the ear plugs don't help much. And to the others who have posted their clever "remedies" for the noise, kudos to you! Love them! I'm going to take note and use them if needed. Bottom line: people in general just seem to be rude and inconsiderate everywhere these days. Sad. There are still a lot of very good people, but these bad apples just stand out!!!
  19. Thank you SO MUCH for this info! We've been to Cozumel a number of times, but have never heard about this area or this vendor. Just glancing at their website, this has moved up to #1 on my list for our October cruise. Looking at the Jeep or Dune Buggy tour. 😁 For the OP, we always enjoy Paradise Beach.
  20. Can you remind me of when that is - seems like someone said the stockholder meeting is in June?
  21. Another vote for the Gelato! We also enjoy making a salad at the buffet to go with our pizza. Oh - and we LOVE the cookies, especially the peanut butter cookies!
  22. Oh, those sautéed mushrooms are SO GOOD, too! Since the fries aren't as good anymore, I get the mushrooms instead - extra ones!!
  23. Same for us on April Dream cruise. For our December Glory cruise, they still had the fresh cut fries.
  24. We've also sailed during Thanksgiving. IMHO, it wasn't anything special. They did serve a traditional thanksgiving meal in both the MDR and the buffet. The big thing that I remember were the number of kids on board: CD announced it was 1200+. And believe me - it felt like it! 😵 It didn't ruin our cruise by any means, but we will probably not sail during that week again. This was a big family cruise, so that made up for it. At least we were all together and had a great time!
  25. Ditto on the thanks and advice comment, Dave! Almost 21 for me - can't believe it really. Crazy!
