Airfare with Viking Air was far less than what I could book myself. I was surprised. And like others, we book business/first class.

Indeed. We paid double that per night on the WC on Serenade in a regular balcony cabin....with far less perks.

We are outside the ocean lock right now, with another cruise ship. Waiting to see what happens next. RCI made the decision to come in a day early, as the protests are scheduled for tomorrow (which would have been our original arrival day). Yes, it's the environmentalists. They want to get rid of cruise ship visits. River ships are OK with them. They will be limiting them soon...and from what I gather, will totally eliminate their visits in a few years.

Thanks! We were at dinner when you guys pulled out of the harbor. Missed getting your sail away shot. Looking forward to being on Venus in January. 🙂 We were supposed to be in Bergen today, but instead are ripping along to make Amsterdam a day early...due to environmental protests going on at the lock into Amsterdam on Monday (which was supposed to be our arrival day).

Nice perk indeed....but I like the send out service we get for free with suites. All clothes come back within hours, pressed and on hangers. Even the undies are neatly folded and placed in a wooden box with tissue paper. Spoiled!!!! 🥰

We did an excellent walking history/food tour there with a local tour company. It was fantastic! 🙂

A barrel full of apples...hundreds of them in it. Three apples on the bottom are over ripe and rotten. So do we toss the whole barrel as bad? My point, obviously....is that I hope people don't judge a person by their tier level based on what some entitled pax act like. The ones that are rude and inconsiderate were like that from birth...not instantly formed when they got to the upper tier level. I like to think good people keep open minds. 😇

That woman makes Pinnacles look bad. What a nasty person indeed. But then again...she was probably like that as a Gold, Platinum...and so forth. 😉

But some know who you are...you cannot hide my friend. 😄 🤓

As I always see it...there are nice people, and rude/ignorant pax in all levels. It is not unique to higher tiers....just more noticed. We like to hang with the nice ones...avoid the others. 😉

Totally agree with the idea that I think RCI company had when they realized many long time cruisers (myself included) were starting to book other lines. We also have no interest in the mega theme park ships. They are only looking for young families now...not us old geezers. Doing the match was something (IMHO) they came up with to entice the loyals over to a sister line. I already had my first X cruise booked previously...and if it works out well...I will book more. However, I have already mostly booked with other lines (Viking) and will probably keep in that direction.

I got that feeling right from the start as well. We never use lanyards, and will hide my "red headed Zenith (love that term 😉 ) card as much as possible...keeping a low profile. 😄 For me, the biggest thing is the savings for not having to book the All inclusive to get our WIFI, drinks, etc....not the specialty lounges...etc.

And what you may have missed....I am a Pinnacle that books suites. We prefer to check out other lounges, versus always sitting the SL. We never, ever take seats in the SL section...but will sit at the bar for a drink for a few minutes before our dinner at 5-5:30 pm. It is never busy at that time. So...you are welcome. Your SL seat that we would have taken up...is available to you.

RCI came up with that....not the Pinnacles or the Zeniths...(or you) have control over that new program. Their cruise ships...their rules.

I am an elderly Pinnacle. I do not "camp out" in the SL or CL....and I also book suites. We mix it up in various lounges around the ship including some time in the SL or CL. How do you know which of those "elderly Pinnacles" you saw in the lounge were not booked in suites? Did you interview every one of them?

They are still in operation here on Serenade....but very..very busy all the time. Limited machines for the approx. 700 full world cruisers only. We of the quarters (and those of the mini segments) don't have access. We were on first quarter and now last quarter...so just doing half. I am assuming they will be pulled out of service once the WC is complete. Indeed we have "boil and fry" bag laundry included, and my hand wash system works well. 😉

Not only am a dinosaur with an actual wrist watch, but I travel with a bedside clock that shows ship time (reset at each change) but also date, and temperature as well. Nice to know if I am setting the dial down and freezing the DH out at night during those "hot flashes". 😄

Not disappointed any longer. 🥰 Southern Norway more flat and very populated. We are now into more of what I imagined Norway to be...happily. Four hour sail way up into the fjord to dock up here in Olden. Beautiful. 🙂 I expect everything north of us as we continue further north. Love being able to sail up into these fjords! Much more dramatic than the coastal parts.

Nope. Happily we had a beautiful view sailing up and into Olden Norway. Now THIS is more of what I imagined Norway to be like. Beautiful! 🙂
