  1. I hope I sent you in the right direction! If not...I am not here. 😄
  2. LOL...actually the French hate it when we call any US made sparkling wine "Champagne". But then again...they are French. 😉
  3. Yup, most popular jug wine US named "Burgundy" there was. 🙂 Knowing that might be what you were talking about, if I could be so bold as to suggest Robert Mondavi 1.5 Merlot. Publix carries a lot of it. That might be close to what you are enjoying in the Carlo Rossi? Another one...Barefoot Cellars Merlot. Another fun thing to do is to try various wines on the ship by the glass. Never know what you might find you like, and would not be investing in a whole bottle.
  4. And some very expensive high end Merlot on the "Right Bank"....Grand Cru stuff. $$$$ Ouch!! 😮
  5. In the 70s and 80s here in the US...cocktail parties had your choices of "Burgundy, Chablis, and Rose"...jug wines that were definitely not from France. 😉 But I still sold a lot of it for awhile as cooking wine to restaurants. Especially the "Burgundy". Might I suggest you try an inexpensive Merlot..maybe from Publix? It also comes in the 1.5 size (exactly twice the size of a regular bottle of wine, and half the size of your 3.0 liter Burgundy). Let me know what you think. 🙂
  6. I never worry about it. When we go to the meeting on TAD, they already have us checked in. Just pick up the new sea pass card and march through the procedure.
  7. We will be on Wonder for Halloween. Costumes packed. 😉
  8. Spent 12 years in the wine business as a sales rep to higher end restaurants in Brevard county. We represented the California wines. I taught waitstaff the proper etiquette of wine service, brought wine in for them to taste, and did the restaurant's wine menus. One of the things the kids loved, during the training I would teach, was when I told them the Golden Rule of Wine. "The best wine is the wine you like the best" Be it "plonk" or something higher end. It's whatever you like that is important...not the cost. More importantly...whatever the customer enjoys. 😉
  9. Was before shut down...so would be a couple of years. Service was not as good, and indeed they increased capacity (which takes away the exclusivity of it IMHO).
  10. LOL...like that woman that tried to bring one on the plane...calling it "therapy" Peacock. 😄
  11. I don't even look at the current price of the shares of RCI. Bought the required 100 shares when the price was down, and am enjoying the OBC for each cruise I book now. I look at it this way....I have nothing to show after a booked cruise...but memories. Having spent about the same amount of money on that cruise, as I did buying the shares, I still have the shares left after purchase. And it is still paying out OBC unlimited for as long as I would like. 🙂
  12. I was being stingy before that...spreading out our 24 hour freebies. Now...can play here on CC as much as I like while on board. 😄
  13. Please bring her back safe and sound...we need to board on the 10th of December. 😉
  14. You are most welcome. 🙂 And don't worry...Panchos will wait for you. 😉 We are actually going back to Nachi Cocom again in December, have not been there in years. Last time we were not impressed with the changes. If we find that again...we will stick to the lovely walk and lunch at Panchos from now on. 😄
  15. That is so sad...especially feeling so helpless that they were not home to secure the house before the terrible storm hit. But indeed for some...it would not have mattered. Too many lost too much. 😞
  16. LOL...not sure. I did not sail a Quantum class ship until after the healthy choices got the boot. 😉
  17. I used to love the healthy alternative selections in the Solarium....now ...pretty much a scaled down version of the WJ....IMHO. I guess healthy was not a big draw for pax.
  18. LOL!! Agree there! Our neighbor lady across the street is from Holland. I buy a chunk to give it to her when we get back. She loves it when we go there. 😉 Unfortunately Harmony had to take a detour on the 18th sailing this month...no St. Maarten. 😞 Thanks a lot Fiona!!
  19. Love love that aged Gouda from Amsterdam cheese shop in St. Maarten!! 😋 Going to spend some time enjoying some of that wonderful French cheese next couple of weeks. Yumm!! And the wine that goes with it. 😉
  20. We adore the original location down town...except on a hot day. With no A/C and quite closed in with the courtyard, not allowing for the beach breeze...it can get a little sticky. The satellite version at the Carnival pier has inside, patio, and a nice "beach" set up in the sand along the seawall with great view of the ships right on the waterfront. Much nicer on a hot day. Same food, same great Margaritas, and same great service. 🙂
  21. I have brought back vac pack sealed smoked salmon on board from various ports in Alaska. Plus just recently local dry beans and package cheese from Curacao. Have always brought back vac sealed cheese from the super delicious Amsterdam cheese house just outside the port in St. Maarten.
  22. LOL...wouldn't know...have never tried it, but it was very popular on Odyssey. We enjoy Panchos Backyard in Cozumel. Both the one at the Carnival pier and the one in town. Prefer to have our tacos there while at the restaurant. 😉
  23. El Loco Fresh is right next to the pool on some ships. 😉
  24. We did the hurricane 2 step around both Ian and Fiona. Fiona caused our Harmony east bound to quickly become a west bound itinerary. Luckily only on for one week, which gave us time to "batten down the hatches" at home for Ian. Suffered no damage, except a lot of tree branches down, some minor flooding (but not into the house except for a couple of trickles in the porch), and never lost power. Considered ourselves very lucky, though I feel so bad for our Florida neighbors to the southwest. So sad. Leaving in two days for Barcelona to board Wonder (our temporary home for 4 weeks). Looking forward to meeting her. 🙂
