  1. Then don’t start on the London Underground! Im more involved with the Georgians than the Victorians but our archive still has loads of hidden goodies and ohhh it’s so easy to get side tracked.
  2. Sorry meant to say it was always possible to change my mind. Note to self read before pushing the button! Cpt is right always ask ( nicely)
  3. Oh at leat one of the ‘Time Team’ lot is very involved with Crofton steam engine on the K & A canal. As far as I have seen they are absolute archialogical nerds.
  4. Pete-coach what deck are you on? Genuine question?
  5. We’ve always done the pre-booking but at the port talk when sometimes an excursion has been described and (prior to two new knees) I’ve realised no way we’ve always been able to change.
  6. On Scenic the Deluxe Balcony suits are yes closer to reception but also as Jazz has said slightly more floor space of 20 sq ft. I quite like them.
  7. Please note all docking is under the control of the local docking manager or master he or she has complete control of when and or where the final docking point is. I’m actually not surprised that exact timing is not given as it gives far more flexibility if for instance an excursion has to be cancelled and or substituted for whatever reason. What would happen if you booked your spa slot and say the water levels meant that the ship had to by pass that stop, one unhappy bunny. So what if you soon after boarding you talk to reception and see if there is anything they can do to make it happen.
  8. Jazz it would seem tha a CD can make or break a cruise your right a little flexibility can work wonders.
  9. Doug I didn’t realise that site still existed it’s the one Scenic told us about when we took our first cruise with them, what seems like eons ago. I’ve spent quite a few hours following the different Scenic vessels around Europe thank you for reminding me.
  10. Whoops sorry completely missed that, having just spent two weeks in France and only having to show proof of vaccinations prior to travelling from the U.K. through the tunnel I’m getting used to not thinking about C.
  11. Sparrowhood if you booked including your flights through Scenic they will arrange all transfers. If you organised your own flights they will at least arrange a taxi transfer for you but at your own cost.
  12. Our Scenic Bordeaux cruise was superb and there are new additions to the itinerary now so would do it again. The wine waiter went out of his way to select wines with little or no merlot grape in a difficult feat in that region. Merlot does not like me.
  13. Careful selection and arrangement of words I notice Jazz!
  14. Superb photo’s especially the juxtaposition of the first two, I did a double take as having been through that trip could not remember that view, ahhhh age!
  15. If anyone is entering one leaving France by eurotunnel as long as you register your covid details beforehand you ‘sail through’. Our recent trip was the easiest ever even easier than when we were in the EU.
  16. I would have hoped that it was self evident that trying to contact your selected vessel some time before your embarkation would be a fruitless exercise as they would not be aware of the passenger details at that time. Jade would not have hotel staff on board as she was being repaired. The contact details for each vessel were put together for those who were having challenges during Scenic’s technical difficulties. Plus unless your like myself and read everything you could very easily miss these small details. There used to be admittedly a very long cover all Scenic roll call that had some excellent information on its many pages.
  17. Seems a bit late we’ve had ours usually within two weeks of departure. If you used a TA get them on the case, if you booked direct (we always have) email, phone maybe even write 1st class, everything seems to be getting back to normal now when you get through be very positive. They should at least email all details or courier them to you. We really enjoyed the Bordeaux cruise and is one we would do again.
  18. Second Seating what a beautiful picture you could say ‘in your face colour’ my eye is saying a little crop here and there and then a canvas print to enlighten your day during the winter. But no way any technical adjusting!
  19. Oh not another one so upset for all those cruisers. Keep well all!
  20. Completely concur. So apologies to anyone I may have inadvertently miss called.
  21. coyboy1971 thank you for your descriptions of your cruise I do appreciate when a cruise team realises that a group are having a particular experience and go further to make it even more memorable.
  22. Ritabob what a shock when you pop out into the open air and then disappear again we did it with a tram full of over excited football fans, luckily we realised which team they supported so became very ‘overexcited’ friends. lakewoodsue I’m enjoying all of your build up and don’t want to spoil it!
  23. One of the drawbacks of leaving the EU is that many of the phone companies immediately decided ‘whahay here’s a great way of fleecing these phone user’s out of more of their hard earned pennies we’ll make them pay ‘roaming’ charges. Luckily because of when we renewed our contract we won’t have to pay extra for our Nivernais adventure. So watch out vodaphone you’ll be loosing another double customer when the renewal comes due.
  24. Got it but not telling you. Beautiful city!
