  1. Allo Allo seems to be completely international, my DH working for a German company and used to exchange (don’t forget I’m ancient) videos of same with some of his counterparts so they caught up with the programme ahead of everyone else.
  2. Don’t worry I’m a tad slow, at a Scouting/Guiding weekend I looked on in sheer amazement when most of the kids stood on their chairs arms up catching air about an off the wall statement. 🤔 but I’m very proud to say that these then youngsters are still in touch with each other and best of all myself.
  3. Yup sometimes you have to climb onto a table to catch the thread. Or it goes straight over your head.
  4. All those hours I spent teaching Guides and Scouts how to map read!
  5. 124 passengers, 110 meters built 2014 that’s Scenic Gem. They then had to wait a season for the signed permission to moor in Honfluer, French beaucracy is wonderful.
  6. Thank you Loriva, very interesting Scenic get their staff from a German agency it certainly sounds like a huge challenge for them to to get sorted. The ‘enrichment director’ is a new position, I’m trying to imagine what the position entails.
  7. Oh dear silly me what a misstaka to makkah hush my mouth and fix it with gaffe/dukk tape.
  8. Have just realised why these type of maps are now few and far between it’s the perceived thought that nobody wants them because of course ‘everyone’ prefers digital. No help I know but so annoying.
  9. Queen enjoy I know exactly what you mean about the dynamic. Plus so brave of you as a singleton.
  10. Not helpful I know but one thing we do know is that German train time keeping is exemplary.
  11. Am I wrong - I expect I am as I thought the idea of the magnet was to hold paper or whatever between it and the wall if that’s the case when removing it to place the paper would mean the magnet next door would fall off! I suspect I’m completely off the wall here, pun intended.
  12. Me, Cannon my husband got me a beautiful wide angle before we went to the USA just before covid so I now only change for macro and occasionally paparazzi.
  13. Just asking as I have my eye on the new Cannon but I don’t think my existing lenses will fit and it would be such a waste.
  14. Ohh predictive texting your absolutely correct no scrapping of a ship going transverse down the river. So what camera do you drive?
  15. Loriva from what you’ve written you are in either a Royal or Junior Suite am I correct?
  16. Well spotted ours started about 29th April, did you have the lovely Maria I think Elizabeth as your tour guide?
  17. Notamermaid you’ve got it in one basically laden and unladen weight, water being one of the heaviest things (if water is a thing?) you can carry. So to get through a shallow section, shed as much water as possible, ensure that the boat is stable and crawl with fingers in ears not to hear the hull scrapping on the bed of the river/canal, best done at night so as not to upset your passengers. Just a technical note although it may be possible to transverse a shallow section if that section includes a lock then you may have a challenge it depends how it is constructed. Oh these engineers there always fiddling with designs.
  18. More likely the loss of staff that is being felt absolutely everywhere combined with the huge tech outage they suffered recently.
  19. Something Scenic should look at as I think the company they have used for many years has been taken over.
  20. Ohhh just what’s needed a bit of the wet stuff from the skies.
  21. pully8 keep that outlook. Looking back you’ll see the humour!
