  1. This itinerary was never on our radar, however after some a "wow, we won't have to fly to the port" thought popped into my head, we booked this for Oct 28th of this year. Its an 8 day itinerary with an overnight in Cabo, We'll also be in Mazatlan for Dia De Los Muertos on Nov 1st. Should be fun!! PS: We've only cruised in a suite or Aqua. We booked an OV since the price was so inexpensive(2k for both of us with all included and 250 OBC from our TA) and all the balconies were sold out.
  2. We had Five Guys for lunch today in Los Angeles.( Free, since I did a mystery shop). A little burger is 8.19. Total for fries and a small drink was 17.16. Overpriced!!
  3. Would a "Footballers" charter be of interest? I wouldn't like anything sports related, although my wife would enjoy a Packer's charter. Bring on the disco!!
  4. Its all for show. They have no substance. They are horrid.
  5. Check with a TA. My wife and I going on O in Sepember. We are in a balcony suite. Its less than 6k for a 7 night Bermuda cruise. All specialty restaurants are included. Wifi is included, Soft drinks are included. We also have 300 OBC. The food is 100 percent better than X.
  6. We were at LHR at the end of January, it was probably the quickest passport control experience we've ever had. We never spoke to an agent. We stood in front of a machine and that was it. We also received our luggage in 15 min.
  7. FYI, if you plan on driving into MI or NY a lot, I'd recommend the NEXUS pass. I had that and it was a breeze.
  8. Hopefully, you've figured it out. When I lived in Ontario, I regularly flew out of Detroit. The border can be very backed up ( assuming you're crossing in Windsor). I would cross in Port Huron as I lived 65 miles from that border. I use cheapairportparking.org for my parking options. AC should give you a credit for your entire flight.
  9. A very uninspired use of leftover macaroni.
  10. She doesn't have previous X cruises to compare it to. For me, I noticed right away that they removed the albacore tuna salad and some other items from the OVC. How much did X save by switching to dark cat food tuna? Was it enough to turn me off from Celebrity in the future?
  11. Exactly one year ago, we were on Oceania Marina. There were 338 passengers. For the first two days, we barely spoke to anyone. It felt like we were on a private yacht. We ate in specialty restaurants every single night( all included). It was amazing. We are taking our next O cruise in September. For us, we don't mind that lack of entertainment. We're early to bed, early to rise.
  12. Its very hard to find good dog sitters. We actually started a dog sitting business in our town and we're constantly booked. We turn people away because we can only take a 2-3 dogs at once. On the plus side, the extra cash is financing our travel : )
  13. They look so sweet. I had a wirehair dachshund who died from Pancreatitis. It was devastating. Give them both hugs from me.
  14. I remember my first or 2nd cruise on X in 2014/2015. We did a gally tour( free) and the Food and Beverage director said that X spends more per passenger on food than other lines in the same class. I don't think they could say the same now. We were on Reflection in September( I blogged it). It was our first Suite experience on X. Desserts in Luminae were better than AQ desserts and much better than OV. The food was good, not mind blowing, but good. Sadly, I saw a lot of the cuts in OVC. We've deflected over to Oceania. We had a wonderful experience a year go on our first Oceania cruise. The food was so much better, I loved the small less crowded ships. We do have 1 more X cruise booked for Great barrier reef( 2024) because the price was great and it is on the Edge. Coincidentally, after that cruise, we'll finally reach Elite status.
  15. I read your first blog!! I lived in Exeter, Ontario for almost 8yrs, I feel you on the snow. I grew up in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Are you staying by the airport in Miami? Or close to the beach? We were in London( UK) last month. It was cold, but we had so much fun. We have 3 dogs and its $$$ when we board them. Its nice your hubby stays home with them. Have a great trip.
  16. Both my spouse and I eat smaller portions( especially at dinner). I can't justify paying that fee for the amount of food we consume.
  17. I watched a few YT videos. Of course I didn't see the "adult" content, I just heard about it.
  18. Does Virgin fit your lifestyle? My wife and I like to lay out at the pool on sea days. Have you seen that pool? Its the size of a postage stamp. We're also not into sex parties, "adult" entertainment and the like. The food does look good, but I can't get past the other issues.
  19. I hear what you're saying, I don't cruise for the food since having weight loss surgery 9yrs ago, food doesn't hold the same appeal to me. I also don't eat beef so the cuts in the MDR don't bother me. When I do eat a meal, I want it to be enjoyable since I don't eat large quantities. They removed albacore tuna from the OVC salad bar. They replaced it with disgusting( IMHO) dark chunk light tuna. Since I enjoy a small salad with tuna, I am a bit upset by the change. We have one more X cruise booked( Edge in 2024) due to the itinerary. We made the move over to Oceania last year. The food was very good, the pastries were amazing. The price was not much more than X.
  20. Personally, the fish was not a fish I would chose. Mackerel and maybe a farmed salmon( I could be wrong on that).
  21. Extremely painful. I was in the ER right before Thanksgiving. The pain was 10 out of 10 and I waited 2 hours for any IV pain meds. I tossed my cookies a few times in the waiting room( and the Norco) I took at home.
