  1. You have alot of patience. There is no way. And whatever sailing you're on, you can be sure people are steady booking cabins.
  2. I've used it once, usually buy outside of Carnival. I wound up filing a claim and had not a single issue with AON. My claim was pretty straight forward. I sent my documentation in and was refunded within 3 weeks. So I wouldn't say don't ever buy it. It just didn't work out for you.
  3. Jamman you used your head and switched to one journey and saved money. SO much better than leaving Carnival to their own devices with this. I don't understand how they couldn't have called this so wrong. We had a cabin that was also literally in the same exact spot on Venezia as Magic. Nonetheless, they still moved us up several decks. It turned out fine since it was the same cabin category, but it still makes no sense. And thankfully we weren't booked with other people. I was able to get a decent price drop just in time cause the rates have gone up by hundreds on my sailing. Anyway, enjoy Venezia. We are fellow Garden State cruisers!
  4. Some quirky stuff going on with this whole ship switch! All I know is, I'm glad I requested a price adjustment over the weekend cause by this morning, prices on my sailing went up over $200 in every single category. We had credits from an earlier cancellation so no worries about being short on the deposit.
  5. Most people with Carnival book a non-refundable deposit as those come with the cheaper rates and allow you to put in for price drops if they come along. I'm confused as to what you mean - the PVP was wrong for allowing you to book a non-refundable deposit? Was they suppose to talk you out of it?
  6. Call Carnival's toll free number and demand to speak to a supervisor. Unlike when dealing with a TA, you don't HAVE to go through your PVP. Who at this point is not doing their job to satisfying you the customer. Sail dates are all over the place. There is no excuse.
  7. My experience with using a Carnival PVP have not been good. I had a cruise cancelled due to scheduling. He never once called and told me. He also mistakenly cancelled my booking on another one. So those two things were enough for me. Besides, they can't give you any extras. My TA has found rates not seen online even with my VIFP# plugged in. I am part of the Magic-Venezia swap and it was my TA who got the job done. He also simultaneously put in for a price drop for my cabin once it was reassigned and booked my kids right next door as I wanted. I don't understand why people who booked with a PVP are STILL waiting. I wouldn't put up with that at this point.
  8. No way I would put up with that. Especially when you know other folks have had this resolved. And not by Carnival doing it - meaning whatever this dedicated team was supposed to be doing. But by your advocate calling and getting it done. My TA told me that if he hadn't called I probably would have just sat in TBA status like anyone else who booked that way on purpose. I don't know your sail date but with mine (August), I noticed yesterday that a bunch of categories that were not even showing up on the booking engine are there now. All of the terrazza cabins and the 4J interiors, for example, are all now showing up. Which tells me Carnival was holding these and have released the hold. I was also able to get a price drop of over $300, because I was to price match. It is totally unfair at this point that anybody is still waiting for a room assignment. John Heald told people days ago that they could also cancel and rebook without penalty.
  9. Yes and that is very messed up. I saw John telling people yesterday that after talking to the beards that you could cancel without penalty. I also saw him tell people to ask for a supervisor. The waiting was so irritating to me. I'm so glad my TA got it done.
  10. They have all game systems in the kids clubs and the kids play with each other. Apparently it's alot of fun.
  11. That area isn't available for booking on my sailing.
  12. Finally got our room swap done earlier, but only because my TA called and spoke to a supervisor. Same room type we had only on the lido deck, which is fine. Don't understand why it was like pulling teeth getting it done. Glad that's over. I honestly don't think anyone will get anywhere unless they call and are persistent. Good luck if you're still waiting.
  13. I don't understand why your TA (or mine or anybody) who hasn't been assigned yet, can't just call and get a room! What are they doing? They have whole categories of rooms unavailable that still had plenty of rooms open the day before they took the Magic offline. Why aren't they letting people book those rooms and why won't they assign rooms that have an exact match from Magic to Venezia? This is the most bizarre, nonsensical thing I have ever seen. Rooms that don't match should be upgraded. Period. I was part of a ship swap some years back and none of this happened. By the time the ship was moved, I had a new room #. And in that case, I went from a booked grand scenic to a ship that didn't have those. So they moved me to a balcony. It was literally a day. I don't understand what they are doing!
  14. Carnival sure has themselves in a spot. The cabin I booked way last year is now more expensive than a cove balcony. No clue what they are going to do but I just sent an email to my TA to see if they will just let him upgrade the TBA interior to a cove. Jamman54 did the right thing cancelling and rebooking. This is nonsense.
  15. Yes it does. This irritates me so much. I have no confidence that we will get room assignments tomorrow or Tuesday either. They did this recently and literally had people waiting for months. And there are some categories that weren't close to being sold out on the Magic now not showing up at all. Mine included. What's up with that?!
  16. And you saying THIS changes nothing. So what's your point? Let people vent.
  17. Same here. I'm so irritated right now. Part of the reason I book early is so I can hand pick the exact cabin I want!🤬
  18. There is no excuse for delaying everyone. Maybe they are trying to figure what to do with the prices, because I know my cabin is cheaper by hundreds than it was when I booked it on the Magic - even though that specific category isn't showing. Carnival has done ship swaps before. It happens. It has happened in the past to me. And none of this took place then. I'm cool with John Heald and all but they need to provide him with answers instead of BS stuff telling people to be patient. GMAB.
  19. Nope they sure didn't. Still annoying. Not sure why I took stock in any hint of a date for this information. As I said before, they did this before with a ship switch. Probably wouldn't matter much to me at all if my cabin category wasn't showing and if I didn't need to book another room nearby for my kids. Can't do that without knowing where we are first.
  20. I already knew today would come and the new information wouldn't be there. So annoying.
  21. Ok I'm up waiting till just after midnight to see if anything happens with the rooms. 😊
  22. They did this same thing with a ship change that affected sailings to Hawaii only the people wound up waiting months to get their new rooms. All the while, the ship was open to the public and available for booking. I don't get it. Alsp seems like they have certain room categories unavailable. All I know is the room I booked is over $300 less now. So unless they bump me up to match current pricing, I have a big price drop to get. We will see.
